27/08/2024: 45 minutes of waiting for the order to be taken, hot "tapas" served cold, of poor quality, 10 olives fighting a duel around 2 slices of feta, inedible country pâté, slices of very poor sausage quality, bad hotdog, broken chairs do not allow me to leave a better rating.
As for the service, we were in the front row, in the room to witness the verbal battle between the kitchen and the service.
To flee.

The mussels are good, the desserts excellent, the price is not too expensive and the waitresses are very friendly, what the people ask for!
I recommend!

20/09/2024: Inadmissible..une attente incroyablement longue pour une restauration rapide..nous y sommes arrivés avant l heure de pointe il n y avait que 4 personnes avant nous et nous avons 45 mn pour être servis. Ce n est pas la première fois que ça arrive..y a til un manager dans cet établissement ?

08/09/2024: A great all-you-can-eat buffet. Freshly cooked dishes did not taste like they had been reheated. Truly one of the best buffets of this kind for me.

13/09/2024: We have priced two cocktails which are simply delicious, the pina colada is very good, even the non-alcoholic one!! Besides we want to come back too bad it is already closing at the beginning of September the priority should be marked which restaurant closes

25/09/2024: I had a great time in this establishment. The boss is helpful and responsive. Excellent staff. Plus the food is good and homemade.
Ps: For joke fans, Nico (the boss) has more than one trick up his sleeve.

05/09/2024: Unfriendly staff, very disappointed with the meal despite a tolerant attitude the boss made no action on the bill too bad the location is very pleasant, we should perhaps think about reviewing recruitment

22/09/2024: I appreciate this restaurant for its atmosphere, its welcome and its location. However, big disappointment during last visit. We left the table hungry. There was nothing on our plates. My family and I were disappointed for the first time by the cuisine. What a pity
20/09/2024: Great romantic moment with my husband! Very beautiful terrace facing the ocean which offered us a sublime sunset 🌅
The service is perfect when you have time, otherwise it can be a little long, but you have to know how to take the time for the good times.
The dishes, as for them, are delicious, nothing to complain about.
I highly recommend anyone to go there and make up their own mind.

28/07/2024: Bar completely empty. We arrive with a group of friends and one of them is criticized for these shoes considered undressy and more suitable for the beach. Note not very appreciated, we therefore preferred to leave from this place which is obviously selective.

18/09/2024: (Very) small casino with few machines, and almost no old three-reel machines... I didn't stay there long. However, as the casino is under renovation, it is perhaps plausible that it will improve in terms of its gaming offerings as well as its decor and its size.

28/08/2023: We had a family dinner and were disappointed. The dishes are really basic, it's still quick, not home cooked (industrial nuggets and fries ditto, disappointing Basquaise chicken). Not great. The waitress was pleasant but there was no festive atmosphere at the bar even though it was a disco evening! It's a shame, it would be nice to have a little restaurant with slow-cooked dishes or simply a good homemade steak and fries!

27/10/2023: For several years I have been going there at least once a season, I preferred the former owners commercially speaking., on the kitchen side, already the service is mega long, the time to settle down and take the order on average 30 minutes... So it's really passable, when we finally deign to take care of ourselves, the service remains long, on average 15 minutes to get drinks, so basically 45 minutes to wait for nothing... The mussels are good (fortunately ), we were never sick, but poorly prepared, since the mussels do not cook in the sauce, a serious mistake in our opinion... Fortunately it remains affordable.
But every year it doesn't get better in fact, it's always a "friends first" atmosphere at Penon... And I've been spending my holidays there for over 35 years, I grew up at the penon... And I still can't stand these "anti-tourist house is happy that they fill our pockets" atmosphere

17/08/2024: Lunch for 2, we had the menu of the day: strips of beef with onions, potatoes, raw vegetables and floating island for dessert. Well cooked, fair quantity, affordable price. Fast service, responsive and relaxed owner. Simple, good and effective!
17/08/2024: Today I ate a plate of local meats (classic cold meats, two cherry tomatoes, two gherkins cut into strips as well as two/three small peppers, a small piece of unripe melon and 3 small pieces of sheep's cheese) and a ramekin of frozen French fries.
I got it for 20 euros.
With two beers and a coffee I got a total of 30.50 euros!!
I certainly arrived after 1:30 p.m. but I felt that I was disturbing the boss.
At this price and under these conditions I would have preferred to be told that the service was over.
This is the first time I've written a review but it's not for nothing.
Other customers next to me also looked surprised by the amount of pain!!
Maybe it's because we weren't from here, that's all??
