31/12/2024: Great discovery, top service for this unpretentious pizzeria refined and delicious dishes.

10/12/2024: La Strada now renamed L'arcane could be good, but wasn't. We chose to eat there because they have a wood-fired oven, which is usually a basic guarantee of pizza quality, but our pizza bases were soft, doughy and under-cooked, so the topping soaked into the dough creating a sloppy mess that made pizza inedible. This was doubly unfortunate because they used good quality flour and good quality fresh ingredients that were spoiled by the badly cooked base. As a bit of a pizza purist, I'd been hoping for nothing more elaborate than a basic well-made Napolitaine with black olives and anchovies. Unfotunately nothing so simple was available, so we had to opt for something more elaborate, whose topping, rather surprisingly was mixed with slightly warmlettuce and mache. They really need to keep it simple and master the basics before attempting more fanciful variations on classic pizza. Our bill came to 45€ for two inedible pizzas and a half bottle pichet of pinot. Finally, later in the evening had indigestion of the sort that I associate with eating bread from bakery chains that use rising agents rather than proper sourdough.

22/02/2026: We arrived late without a reservation and the owner gave us a warm welcome. The meal was excellent, thank you again for your kindness.

15/02/2026: We had booked for Valentine's Day. We arrived at 7:40 pm. We sat at a small table in the middle of the room; there must have been about twenty other customers. We were given a menu with a special set menu, €45 per person. A couple arrived at the same time as us; they were already on their main course when we hadn't even received an aperitif and the menu sign was still on the table. The waitresses kept coming around the room and bringing dishes to the people who arrived after us. Still no aperitif, no bread, and no water. After 45 minutes, someone came to check on us. After another 20 minutes, we were served two slices of pizza, a few olives, and three potato chips. When it came time for the starter, I chose a foie gras puff pastry, but unfortunately, they were out. I chose the second starter on the menu. Twenty-five minutes passed before the meat arrived (or perhaps we didn't get to choose how it was cooked). It was cold inside. A couple sat down next to us, and they brought them the appetizer: a puff pastry with foie gras. I thought they were out of it, darn it! We only ordered the cabécou cheese, no dessert. One had honey on it, the other didn't; one had toast, the other didn't; one was warm, the other straight from the fridge. When it came time to pay, the woman asked us how it went and added, "Well, at least the desserts didn't choke you." Very funny, anyway. We left at 10 p.m., €96. Not to mention the horrible smell of sewage in the dining room throughout the entire meal. A real organizational problem and over an hour and a half of food that was more than mediocre, tasteless, and pointless. We will not return, that's for sure.

28/11/2025: Well placed, ordinary ex-pat run hotel. Nothing special. Just for sleeping. Would be better if the town was better.

18/11/2025: Weekend with my wife, at a hotel-restaurant I know very well from my business trips. We had a room on the first floor in the building before the main building. The room was simple but perfectly adequate. Comfortable bed, new bathroom, large balcony with a breathtaking view of the canyon. The breakfast was plentiful and very reasonably priced. The staff is always very welcoming and smiling, which is lovely! I'm a loyal customer of this 2-star hotel, which offers very reasonable prices considering its website. Never disappointed, I'll keep coming back. Please don't change a thing!

29/12/2025: Passing through Figeac, we happened to have lunch at Le Sphinx. We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed a delicious meal. The dishes were tasty and generous, and the service was excellent. We highly recommend this establishment, which is definitely one of the best restaurants in town.

12/12/2025: Came on a Sunday evening (because it was open, unlike most), lovely waitress, very kind, cook too, excellent meal both in quantity and quality, very reasonable price, I totally recommend it!

22/11/2025: Carole is super nice, we ate well. She's from Normandy, a friendly people.

06/11/2025: Everything was perfect: the welcome, the meal, the service. The dishes were generous and hot. I highly recommend it.

30/12/2025: I am very disappointed regarding the origin of the products I purchased. Two days ago, while passing through Figeac, we bought, among other things, goose rillettes. Not having my glasses to read the origin of the meat, I asked the shop owner if it was French, and he confirmed it was. Once home, I checked, and unfortunately, the meat is from the EU. I would never have bought it if I had known. This is dishonest.

24/10/2025: I stopped to look at the window and the restaurant because I knew what I was looking for but the discomfort created by the person present that day 😯🫤 I didn't even dare to go in to ask for information

28/12/2025: Pleasantly surprised, generous and tasty pizzas. Soft crust.

25/10/2025: Disappointed, it's not the first time we've eaten there, but the more it goes, the smaller the pizzas and the huge the pasta, frankly I don't recommend them, but as I said, we've been going there for years. 13.50 for that is borderline.

25/01/2026: Great atmosphere, very welcoming staff, and affordable prices. Other activities nearby (escape room, laser tag, billiards, children's area, etc.) offer plenty of opportunities for a fun time with family or friends.

18/01/2026: What a shame as I was looking forward to have a nice crepe here but when I walked in not knowing that the creperie was closed, the manager/owner there was cleaning the floor he told me off for making the floor dirty even though there was not a visible sign saying that they were closed, I really enjoyed my stay around Rocamadour so it’s a shame that I did not manage to get here as I was looking to try out one of their crepes, my feedback would be for the owner/manager to talk to customers in a more respectful manner when something like this occurs going forward

28/10/2025: I don't know why some people left bad reviews; I thought it was an excellent place. The service was very good, the duck breast was spectacular, and we also ordered a crepe montagnard which was excellent. The only problem was that the crepe was very cold, but it was also very tasty. I would definitely return.

20/12/2025: Simply... good, local, atmospheric, extremely friendly, delicious food, nice wine list, top-notch foie gras, lovely village. We had a great time. So... do it.

13/12/2025: Keep walking. No cooking, just frozen food; what a shame to offer such cuisine in this beautiful region.

14/11/2025: He's been putting stickers on cars parked in the short-term parking zone (badly parked stickers), even though he parks there himself. And when you look at the reviews, you quickly realize other people are saying the same thing. There are people paid to ticket cars; it's not your job. Stay in your lane. P.S.: Careful, sir, you're on a street where everyone talks. 😉

14/11/2025: He considers the short-term parking spaces to be his. He puts up stickers for improper parking, but has no problem parking there without respecting the time limits.

06/11/2025: Fantastic!! This kind of place hardly exists anymore. A restaurant where you feel right at home, with a simple, unpretentious lunch menu, but made with love, using good ingredients, and that rivals the often prettier but worse and more expensive cuisine of most restaurants. I recommend it if you want something off the beaten path: hearty, unpretentious French cuisine that's also very affordable! Bravo 👏🏽

17/09/2025: Lunch at least in August, in the garden, very pleasant...in terms of taste, we are not in a three-star hotel, but it is good... waitress and waiter very pleasant, smiling, competent and available, despite the restaurant being full

Arrived at 11:55 a.m. we are on vacation so in no hurry but the restaurant is, we have to make money... quick reading of the menu, no time to choose the wine, order an aperitif and at 12:05 p.m. sharp the cassoulet arrives, certainly not home-cooked, really no desire for dessert, a coffee, the bill and hop outside at 12:30 p.m. to be quick it's quick especially when we have all the time in the world...
