21/06/2026: This concerns an overnight stay in a gîte (guesthouse) including dinner and breakfast.
The comfortable, clean room with 5 beds has everything you need (storage, drying rack). (Please remember to dust the balcony furniture!) The swimming pool is small and uses salt (very salty!!). It's pleasant, but you don't linger in it.
The meals were a major highlight; a limited selection, which is a sign of quality, but they were really good.
Location: easy to find, before Cajarc, when coming from the GR64 hiking trail.
A 5-minute walk from the center of Cajarc (shops, supermarket, bakery, etc.).
10/05/2026: As loyal guests of the La Peyrade hotel and restaurant, we highly recommend it! The welcome was excellent, and the staff were very kind. The rooms are clean, spacious, well-appointed, and the beds are very comfortable. The food is delicious, varied, and plentiful, with excellent value for money. The location is ideal, close to the main attractions of the Lot region. We just came from there and will be returning soon! 👍

Okay, I arrived at 2:59 PM and ordered a sandwich and a coffee for €8.20?? Seriously, what kind of thieves are these?
Because the sandwich had a little bit of lettuce and two slices of tomato, and I'm pretty sure it was yesterday's sandwich, given how hard it was and the wilted lettuce was. You're nothing but thieves, shame on you! Elsewhere, the same thing would cost €5.60.
They won't be seeing me again anytime soon, especially considering the staff's accent and lack of friendliness.
One star is way too expensive.

A lovely local supermarket with friendly owners. You can go there for all your daily groceries, but also just for a delicious cup of coffee.
Furthermore, freshly roasted chickens are regularly available to take away. There is also a dining area where you can have a drink or a simple meal – a nice combination of supermarket and neighborhood café.
Highly recommended for picking up your fresh bread in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee. You certainly feel welcome here!
16/05/2026: We stopped by chance for a quick bite and were delighted with the food: roast chicken with Camargue rice, and duck parmentier (for about €8.00 per person). Everything was homemade and generous portions.
Great concept: quality snack bar, grocery store, and bar.
The place is dog-friendly. As we were leaving, the owner gave us a little tourist tip.
Highly recommended if you want to avoid spending hours or too much money at a restaurant.

From super hospitable and dedicated owners, large spacious pitches with plenty of shade, a lovely swimming pool, a friendly and pleasant atmosphere, delicious food and plenty for the children to do, right down to the beautiful location and tips shared for exploring the surrounding area. We will definitely be back!
25/07/2026: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the campsite. We received a very warm welcome, were given a beautiful spot, and there is a very nice restaurant where you can dine. We are now at a different campsite and miss the morning newspaper every day. We recommend Déjà vu to everyone!

09/07/2026: Just visited L'Escale this lunchtime and so glad we did. We initially drove past having decided that the place didn't look great. The only signs we saw was for it being a Pizza Takeaway. After driving in the wrong direction, We turned back and noticed the restaurant sign. DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY THE EXTERIOR APPEARANCE! Inside it is amazing and we had a lovely 4 course lunch for 2 priced at £29.10 including a half carafe of wine. hence the 5 stars. Amazing value

25/07/2026: Whenever I go to my parents' house in Livernon, I get two or three pizzas from them. The pizzas are good, but the owners don't seem very friendly, especially the man. But oh well, I don't have much choice but to eat there since there's not much else around.

The evening meal at the restaurant was very good.
13/09/2025: Excellent welcome and service.
The only downside was the evening restaurant, where they should have banned the use of cell phones in the dining room to make personal calls without any discretion or respect for other people. This happened twice at a table of five women who were walking.

19/07/2026: Had a lovely meal on the terrace, close to the Lot River. Relaxed atmosphere.
12/07/2026: Despite an enticing menu and a pleasant setting, the €28 set menu fell short of expectations. The starter, a salmon carpaccio with guacamole, consisted of a few lukewarm slices of trout and some unappetizing canned guacamole. The main course was sea bream served with fries. While the sea bream itself was quite nice, it seemed small and underwhelming on the plate. The frozen fries were neither crispy nor soft, simply disappointing. Dessert was a pleasant peach Melba.
The service was a mixed bag. A very kind and helpful woman on one side, and a very unprofessional young man on the other, who seemed to think we were bothering him—a shame.
It was nice, but we certainly won't be back.

01/06/2026: We just finished an extremely nice lunch at Mets Saisons. It was a delicious change of pace. For a very reasonable €12,50 I got the salmon tart with sorrel and spinach. It reminded me of spanakopita with a lemony-salmon influence. The plate came with sides of super fresh gazpacho, a green salad w a distinct mustard-sesame flavor and a mildly curry influenced couscous. All excellent! My husband’s chorizo-chard tart was excellent too. We ate outdoors in the lovely plaza shaded by Tilia trees.

20/08/2026: A peaceful place, perfect for exploring the Lot region. The owners are incredibly attentive, and the continuously open pool is very pleasant at the end of a walk or after breakfast. No mosquitoes, no noise, nature all around, a few animals in the small farm for children to enjoy... A must for those who, like me, love nature and tranquility.
13/06/2026: I spent a night in this gîte during my walk on the Camino de Santiago through the Célé Valley. I received a very warm welcome from Guillaume, who was very attentive and helpful. A peaceful place, in the middle of nowhere, with a lovely swimming pool and a beautiful, very clean room.

07/06/2026: This hotel from this chain is fantastic in terms of location, but less so in terms of rooms and abominable in terms of service!
The front location was an ugly box-like building with an unsecured parking lot that wasn't big enough. Certainly not during peak season.
The reception was astonishing… a “manager” yelled at his staff in front of the guests. 😱 Unacceptable!
The rooms were disappointing. A view of a roof, no water as a welcome, no shower gel; the beds were good. The kettle had to stand on the floor because the cord is too short to put it on the desk.
The chambermaids were nice; one of the receptionists (a slim lady) was very helpful.
The air conditioning broke down, so we were given another room (twice), and the last time, the receptionist on duty was tapping her fingers and saying: Depeche TOI!!!! I have to go back to the reception 😱 so bad!!!
The breakfast was fine! But the dinner… oh my… so bad. Apart from the piece of meat or fish we ordered, the garnish was exactly the same: pommes Anna, a smear of sweet potato, and some vague jelly-like vegetable pudding or something... in any case, yuck, yuck, yuck. The beautiful photos on the website, oh, oh, oh, how fake!!!
Service extremely unfriendly.
Anyway, I'm done with this place; we are never coming back, even though our expectations were high. Such a shame. People, learn from this... it will help you...
07/06/2026: The room was very disappointing; there was no bottle of water upon arrival, which we did receive at much lesser hotels, and the staff was unfriendly. A man behind the bar was downright rude. The food was decent, and the view was beautiful. In everything, you can tell that this hotel lacks passionate staff.
