26/04/2026: We asked the waiter for a menu to add some dishes, but they ignored us. We called them five or six times, but they just ignored us. Every time, they went straight to the foreigners next to them to take their orders and put out their cutlery. If they treat people differently, they shouldn't be running a restaurant. I've never seen such a bad attitude. The portions were also pitifully small. The salt and pepper ribs even had a very obvious gamey smell. I don't know how a restaurant like this can stay in business.

31/08/2026: Disappointed by the particularly greasy fries. The mayonnaise on the eggs as a starter had a bit too much mustard flavor. And the pulled pork wasn't great.

30/08/2026: A very bad experience at the Cocorico restaurant in Rouen. We were there on a Saturday evening around 8 pm, and despite the time, the restaurant was practically empty. The dining room was cold, which was really unpleasant for dining. The menu also offered very few choices, which is quite disappointing considering the prices. As for the meat, it was a huge disappointment: it was very tough, difficult to chew, and clearly undercooked. It didn't seem fresh and even looked like it might be past its expiration date. For a restaurant charging these prices, this is simply unacceptable. I had to change my order completely, for fear of getting sick. The service was absolutely not up to the price. The staff wasn't particularly customer-oriented, and despite our dissatisfaction, no compensation was offered. Yet, this is the very least one could expect in such a situation. In the end, the value for money was very poor: disappointing food, a cold dining room, a limited menu, inadequate service, and no gesture of goodwill. An experience we will not repeat and an establishment we do not recommend.

28/10/2026: Love!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this café! It’s centrally located, with a lovely outdoor patio that’s perfect for enjoying your coffee and watching the world go by. I’ve spent many MANY mornings here, often sitting for a couple of hours with my coffee and getting some work done. The coffee is excellent, the croissants and pain au chocolat are delicious, and the service is always quick and efficient. I never ordered food but highly recommend the Cafe Crème 😏 But what really makes this place special is the staff. They are absolutely wonderful! After just a few visits, they remembered my usual coffee order and started bringing it to my table without me even having to ask. It’s those little things that make a place feel special, especially in a foreign country. I don’t speak much French, and the staff I’ve interacted with don’t speak English, but that has never been a problem. They’ve been incredibly patient and kind, even encouraging me as I stumble through practicing my French. Thank god for Google Translate when my practicing created more confusion than actual understanding. There’s such a warm, welcoming atmosphere here. You can tell from watching the interactions between the staff and their regular customers that this is a place where people genuinely enjoy coming back. Whether you’re looking for a morning coffee, a place to sit and work for a while, or simply somewhere to relax and watch the people of Rouen pass, I can’t recommend Le Socrate highly enough. It’s a wonderful little piece of everyday life in Rouen!

08/10/2026: If you're looking for a great brasserie in Rouen, go for it without hesitation! The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious. Excellent food and a fantastic atmosphere!

20/09/2026: Disappointing experience. Lesson learned: check Google reviews first... Slow and error-ridden service; the kitchen sends out whatever dishes they want if the daily special is unavailable without asking anyone; the seasonings are pathetic (salt and pepper are basic, after all); avoid the sirloin steak at all costs (the meat is tough). At €30 for the set menu, it's overpriced.

18/09/2026: A truly wonderful discovery at Les Maraîchers in Rouen. The experience is captivating, both for the quality of the food and the attention to detail in the service. The team is exceptionally welcoming, kind, and attentive, with a real elegance in their hospitality. Here, every detail matters: even the simple act of pouring a glass of water is done with care and without haste (a small touch that speaks volumes about the restaurant's philosophy). The dishes are flavorful, refined, and generous, with excellent execution. The service, meanwhile, is exceptionally attentive, while remaining natural and warm. This is a place where they truly take the time to welcome their guests. A truly wonderful experience, which I wholeheartedly recommend. Unfortunately, I only photographed the appetizer, but I would have loved to share the main course as well, which deserved to be showcased just as much.

27/03/2026: A friendly neighborhood restaurant for lunch. The food is homemade and the waitresses are friendly. Very good value for money. I recommend it if you work nearby ☺️

17/10/2026: The service and staff were very friendly, perfect. However, the food is bland and expensive for what it is. The portion size is really small, I'd say enough for a small child. I don't recommend the foie gras, which is poor quality and tasteless.

13/10/2026: A very warm welcome and a very friendly restaurant. The menu looked very tempting. We had a lovely time. Unfortunately, I got sick immediately after lunch; the only thing I can think about is the salmon starter. It's a shame, it spoiled the experience.

10/09/2026: The meal was very good. However, the waitress, a rather elderly blonde, was very unpleasant and not smiling, and the cleanliness of the premises left much to be desired. The toilets and bar area were very clean, and the waiter wasn't very friendly; this needs improvement.

22/09/2026: Quand le gérant arrêtera d'accuser le client que son pass sanitaire n'est pas valable parce qu'il n'est pas capable de scanner correctement un pass sanitaire tout à fait valable et saura reconnaître ses erreurs, je verrai pour changer la note. Jusque là, c'est hors de question que je change d'avis.

03/10/2026: Good morning, Madam/Sir, you have a rating of 3.8, which is not a good score, and I know why. Yesterday, my friend and I were there. The owner served us well, however, her employee who took over was incredibly rude! I don't know if she's frustrated with her life, or if she has a disability (if so, I apologize, but that's no excuse), she is completely unprofessional! I am a trained head waitress in the restaurant industry. I have worked in renowned Parisian establishments, and I can tell you that your waitress, the rather large "Dame Blanche," is therefore unprofessional in terms of interpersonal skills, professional conduct, and communication! There are training courses offered by France Travail on verbal and non-verbal communication with customers. Customers are what keep the business afloat, not the other way around, so it is very important to know how to communicate and serve them well!

04/09/2026: I went in for a sandwich and ordered the rosette with pickles, a classic... barely edible because of all the mustard... mustard in a rosette with pickles?! You should warn your customers, it's a rather strange choice for a rosette with pickles... let's not even mention the slice of cheese, which was also unnecessary... the flan itself was nothing special...

11/09/2026: I came for a table tennis tournament. What a pleasant surprise! A great place and competent staff. A special mention for Matteo. A really nice guy, attentive to customers and very professional. Thanks to him, for making our stay truly enjoyable.

28/08/2026: The daily special was excellent: salmon with rice and a sauce made with olive oil and sundried tomatoes. The wine was quite good. The desserts were very good.

11/08/2026: I've been going there for years, and it's always been excellent. I would recommend it to others; it's the best caterer in Rouen. The quality is good. You feel transported to China with all the aromas. Thank you to the Litang family. There's no doubt about it, it's always so good. 21/01/2026: On two children's menus, we received neither lemonade nor dessert, which brought the price to ten euros for a plate of fries and nuggets. We would have had to come back and wait in a massive queue to get them to make up for the oversight. The portion sizes for the sharing platters have become truly ridiculous for 30 euros per person. We were used to it, but unfortunately, our habits will change.
