05/10/2026: A truly wonderful discovery. Impeccable food and service. For starters, we had snails and morels, a very generous and flavorful dish, as were the kidneys and the pike-perch with morels and Vin Jaune sauce, the duck prepared two ways, and the scallop and prawn casserole—all very well-balanced and seasoned. We appreciated the touch of a small glass of limoncello at the end of the meal. One small drawback: a table seated by the window asked for the curtains to be drawn and the lights turned on at midday! This somewhat spoiled the atmosphere; it might have been more sensible to seat them at another table and not inconvenience the other customers.

13/09/2026: What a delight! The set menu of the day was a unique and special barbecue. Nothing better to tantalize your taste buds: four perfectly cooked meats accompanied by divine sauces. Dessert isn't optional, it's mandatory (for me, crème brûlée with candied oranges—delicious!). All this on the pleasant, shaded terrace. At the Auberge de Chalezeule, you're never disappointed. Another treat, thank you!

07/09/2026: What a lovely little restaurant. The man is in the kitchen, the woman serves and works her legs off. The menu du jour is €23 and truly excellent. For starters, salmon mousse and grilled potato with Comté. For the main course, chicken with chorizo, and for dessert, nougat ice cream. You could choose from 3 options for both the starter and the main course. Highly recommended, but reservations are mandatory as it is fully booked every day.

08/09/2026: The first place I went to in Besançon, and undoubtedly the best. I went with my sister, and honestly, it was a gem. The owner, oh my god, is such a sweetheart, a true angel. This young man deserves to be protected; he was so adorable and gave me an incredibly warm welcome. He even added a little milkshake for my sister. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing, and the cats are absolutely gorgeous and so cute. If it were open every day, I'd be there regularly. My sister had an apricot juice and a caramel cookie, which was really delicious (yes, I sneaked a bite 🤭). I had a pistachio milkshake—the best I've ever had! The flavor was incredible, I can't even describe it, it was so perfect, with a hint of vanilla. And a chocolate chip cookie, which was also delicious, really very good, nice and warm. Oh my, a truly wonderful experience! If I come back to Besançon, I'll definitely stop by and try everything on the menu. Thank you again for the experience 🙏❤

16/09/2026: We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were delighted with this discovery. The dishes and desserts were delicious and inventive. The service was impeccable. The very organized and efficient service might be a little slow when ordering à la carte, but that's to be expected with good cuisine, and we were prepared for it. The many people next to us who had chosen the set menu (generous and apparently delicious, and at a very reasonable price) seemed to have been served quickly. Don't let the negative reviews, which we found unjustified, influence you... Highly recommended!

I received a very warm welcome and excellent service from the staff when I visited the restaurant yesterday to spend time with a resident, who was herself very happy and reassured in this place. For those who enjoy gambling, there's a casino right outside. Presented as a luxurious residence, this senior living facility features a welcoming restaurant with late 19th-century comfort, open to all, and an original fireplace (1893).

16/08/2026: The establishment never specifies that the meat served is exclusively halal. As someone who doesn't consume this type of meat, I find it particularly regrettable that this information is neither communicated by the staff nor clearly displayed in the restaurant. I only discovered it afterward. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. KFC France should be avoided.
