22/03/2026: We did a quick stop for dinner. We order dine in, it was a small order. A happy meal, a burger and large chips. There were two orders waiting while we were ordering. As we finish a large group came up a ordered individual take aways. As we were waiting for our order we realised that the individuals of the take away were being served before us, even though they ordered after us. It wasn't just one or two. At least 4 take away orders got dispatched before our order got brough over.

15/03/2026: Between the drive-thru oversights, practically every time, and the astronomical prices that have skyrocketed year after year at the expense of appalling product quality, I prefer to go to one of the burger restaurants (near the cinema or Barthou...) which, for the same price, sells fresh, flavorful food. McDonald's, you need to rethink your prices; they're disastrous for what you get. And as for the customers, think about it. For the same price, several burger restaurants in town offer fresh products.

07/01/2026: I was surprised; we didn't know where to get something quick and affordable. We decided to try some lettuce sandwiches with ham and cheese, and they were delicious—I wasn't expecting them to be so good. The price was good at €6, and you can eat at the tables outside. The waiter was friendly.

05/03/2026: I'm a regular; the food is excellent and the pastries are very good, especially the cookies. Everyone is very friendly and it's inexpensive compared to other places. One of my favorite spots in Pau.

02/03/2026: This small pizza shop is one of the few things you will find open in this area this time of year on a Sunday evening. Pretty much takeaway for us - pretty small inside. The shop focused on pizza - they have several styles from the local basque, traditional and then pizzas from around the world. They have a number of wines, soft drinks, and even a local cider in their cooler. We were unsure of French pizza BUT - fresh ingredients and a great deal of love make for great pizza, and that's what you find here. The lady running the shop is multilingual, quite the charmer, and she makes a good pizza too! We went with a local basque flavor to try some of that famous ham - good call. Would do again - definitely recommend.

20/03/2026: …disappointment with the service. The set menu was rushed through, and the menu was just as rushed because there was no printed list or chalkboard indicating the prices…!…Luckily I asked because they were trying to sell me a sirloin steak for €70 per kilo (presumably high quality)…without even telling me, since there was no printed list and therefore no price!…Is that legal? The owner made up for the waitress's poor service, but that doesn't excuse the lack of information…I'm of a certain age, but this is the first time I've been treated this way…they don't need the "tourists"…their business is made by the "locals"…good for them…

20/03/2026: No menu, no wine list displayed either outside or inside. The same goes for drinks. No clues whatsoever to help you choose. The welcome was more than unpleasant. They simply charge you a set daily menu, end of story. We were surprised by this restaurant concept. The manager, summoned by an irritated waitress, came to our table to explain the infamous menu and the option of a 350g sirloin steak with fries, depending on the cut (at 70 euros per kilo). It was impossible to get less unless you cut it in half with other diners. Perhaps original for many, but disconcerting for others, something we'd never seen before (though we're not from Béarn), even though we live in Pau. It's a shame because the interior of the tavern is authentic. We had hoped for a welcoming smile and friendly service.

01/02/2026: I'm very disappointed. I bought a King Cake on Thursday, and I specifically asked the saleswoman if it was fresh that day; she assured me it was. But by the evening, the cake was already inedible, completely hard and dry—a disgrace! I can understand that it might be a day or more old, but then they shouldn't charge full price (€28) and should make that clear to their customers. I won't be back!

02/04/2026: Hello, I came to get some kebabs without a reservation because it was impossible to reach them by phone. The man took my order on the spot, but an hour and fifteen minutes later, I received three kebabs with no vegetables, just meat, and it cost me 50 euros! Even though it's supposed to be the best kebab shop in Pau, the service wasn't the best I've ever experienced, and consequently, the kebab wasn't the best either. Very disappointed! 😞

25/03/2026: Legendary place. A must have place to visit. Refik is the one and only chef to make such a delightful food. Pay him a visit!
