22/09/2024: Looking for a restaurant during a weekend in Berry, our getaway brought us to this brand. It won't take a long look at the menu to be tempted! However, accompanied by a little doggie, we prefer to ask permission before entering! Agreement much more than jovial and cordial, we are delighted and doggie will be the first served (in water!) Skipping the details, we discovered the matafan, a thick crepe gratinated a bit like a crust, a dish as good as it is substantial! I'll try it at home! The second is a beautiful plate of diots which I enjoyed. The wine list presents good products, but at prices that did not appeal to us. We chose the vintage of the boss who does the work. Desserts with Savoyard names for ice cream hide flavors of other origins, but we get the idea! All this in a busy setting, but so good! A little place that exudes conviviality and which allowed us to spend a very, very good evening. A smiling and warm service, you can feel the investment both in the dining room and in the kitchen and that's a pleasure. If there are some hazards, we erase them because we feel good. I recommend it and if I had to do it again I would go back. Thank you to the staff for this very nice break in our weekend. We didn't have a reservation, however the room filled up quickly, so I would recommend doing so.

03/10/2024: Pleasant coffee. We feel good there. A local atmosphere. The staff is friendly and smiling. The decor is quite typical.

16/09/2024: 2 coffees ordered. Lots of waiting. Only 1 cupcake forced to ask for the other. A white cup that only has the name. Very used. Whereas before there were older dishes, clean and typical of a café. We used to have coffee on Sundays and it was always full of customers. Now it's almost empty. Change of boss, Change of servers. It's no longer worth anything. Too bad Café L'Escale, it was an address in St Gilles....

29/11/2024: Just a shame that there are no baby changing facilities in the toilets and that the tables are not clean… Which would be nice and to fill the wraps a little more 😊

26/10/2024: I ordered a TooGoodToGo, I arrived four minutes late, and the person did not want to serve it to me, very unpleasant. I won't come back to Bourges again.

21/08/2024: Passez votre chemin, l'établissement a besoin d'un bon coup de nettoyage, mouches mortes sur les rebords des fenêtres, boissons empilées à l'entrée du restaurant, nappe sale, escaliers vers les toilettes n'ont pas été nettoyé depuis très très longtemps (même si nous n'y avons pas accès ça laisse à désirer), les toilettes sont propres quand-même il faut signaler le seul point positif 🤔 moutarde périmée, on demande un steak saignant il est plus que cuit, les frites très salées, le poisson tiède

21/08/2024: Very disappointed, meat overcooked and not rare as requested, and fries too salty. There were flies on the window sills and a multitude of stains on the tablecloth. On the other hand, the staff are very kind.

04/09/2024: Short lunch break on the road. A very pleasant, cool place by the water. The place is friendly, the cuisine is generous and tasty and the service is fast and pleasant.

24/09/2024: Restaurant to avoid if you want to take your time to eat quietly. Opens at noon, closed at 1:15 p.m.🤦‍♀️ ZERO welcome, not friendly, not a smile, really not commercial guy. Having had the experience, I advise you not to stop, especially if you need a good break after a 5-hour drive.... to avoid

10/07/2025: Lovely staff but the worst food I have eaten. I would much rather go hungry. I was baffled by the number of French customers. Better to go down the road to the Supermarche.

10/09/2024: Restaurant with good value for money. On the other hand, they do not respect the order of arrival of customers, this is done "at the customer's request". Big regrets on this point. 3 customers arrived after me, their orders were taken directly, even though I was already seated. I made the remark to the owner who exclaimed out loud, in front of the other customers, without any embarrassment, and without repairing the mistake. This is a way of making any complaint uncomfortable.
