20/05/2026: Delightful 50s-60s style dinner. The staff's attitude leaves much to be desired. In a 50s diner, you expect a broad smile and outspoken helpfulness! The food could be better too. The haricot verm were tough and dried out. The fries were soggy and too greasy. The meat was good.

17/05/2026: We were very disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. We had a voucher for a set menu, and no expiry date was indicated on it. However, it was refused, with the pretext that they no longer accept them after 2026. If conditions apply or if the offer is no longer valid, this should be clearly stated instead of only being discovered at the point of payment. Beyond that, the service was completely inadequate. The staff were often on their phones, inattentive to customers, and we encountered neither a smile nor genuine friendliness during our visit. We mostly felt like we were bothering them. It's a shame, because respecting the offers and providing a minimum level of service are fundamental in the restaurant industry. Better communication and a warmer welcome would likely have changed our opinion.

09/02/2026: First experience with my wife, and certainly the last. Appetizers, main courses, wines to accompany them, and a coffee for me. When it came time to pay, the owner asked, "How was it?" When asked, I replied, "The fries were sweet!" The owner called her husband into the kitchen. "You made a mistake, you put sugar instead of salt!" But no, it's the potato flesh that's sweet. "Impossible," they retorted, "I tasted them and they weren't sweet." With my coffee, I had a fruit jelly, which was quite good, by the way. So I pointed out that a table behind us, who weren't ordering coffee, had received a small plate with four small fruit jellies, and I got a wonderful response: "Those ladies are regular customers." I didn't know there were different types of customers. Too bad, I won't become a regular who can benefit from special treatment. I hope for the sake of these regular customers that the owner will not carry out, as she loudly proclaimed, her plan to stop offering fruit jellies because of me.

16/05/2026: Far too expensive, this is definitely the last time we'll eat here. The cleanliness of the cutlery leaves much to be desired, and the toilets are the same. I do not recommend this establishment.

15/05/2026: Three of us went to Flunch on a weekday. Not having much experience with the franchise, I asked the cashier for advice. She suggested the Flunch menu that was on display: one hot dish and one drink. I followed her advice and ordered three meals. While waiting for my hot dish, I saw a second sign announcing that dessert was free with the Flunch menu. I went back to ask for dessert, only to be told that the till was closed and they couldn't fulfill my request! The restaurant manager, who was there at the time, even told me I should have known! Why didn't the cashier tell us that dessert was free?! Finally, after some discussion, another employee found a solution so we could take advantage of the offer. I found that rather disappointing. Aside from that, the food was good and the cooks were very friendly.

28/02/2026: Quiet hotel, attentive staff, impeccable service. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. Breakfast was excellent, with delicious local products. Thank you to Véronique for her warm welcome, helpfulness, and excellent advice; congratulations on her professionalism! As for the restaurant, the service was perfect, and the meal was delicious. Congratulations to the chef! We recommend this hotel without hesitation.

28/02/2026: A wonderful memory of this stopover in the heart of the small village of Chavignol. The hotel is opposite a producer of Crottin de Chavignol cheese, a family who also produces very high-quality Sancerre and Pouilly wines (their estate is not far from the hotel). The hotel is charming, and finally: A fantastic tasting menu at the restaurant, which I chose to pair with wines from the Bourgeois family (high-end wines, including glasses of wine that sell for over €40 a bottle at the estate). The entire tasting menu was served for €40 – a real bargain, don't hesitate! The restaurant also has a very lovely decor. I will definitely return.

We had a meal for a group; the starter was very generous, the quenelle dish was a bit of a mixed bag, but the sauce was good, and the dessert was very good. The service was quick and efficient, and the staff were very friendly.

10/03/2026: One of the best places in Vierzon! The welcome is always warm, the staff is super friendly, and the service is fast. The kebabs are truly excellent, generously filled with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. The portions are generous, and the value for money is perfect. The restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is pleasant. You can tell they care about providing good service to their customers. I recommend it 100%! I'll definitely be back!

17/05/2026: Absolutely terrible. The minced meat was really awful, and the egg was even worse. The fries were tasteless. We had to go somewhere else to get a carafe of water.

19/04/2026: We received a very warm welcome, and the children were treated to some lovely little gifts. The room was clean and functional. The restaurant is a great bonus when you're just stopping over on your holiday route. Breakfast is available for an extra charge but is plentiful.

08/04/2026: Excellent experience. The rooms were simple but perfectly clean and functional. The hotel is quiet and the reception staff were very friendly and professional. They were very accommodating upon my arrival. I highly recommend it!

19/12/2025: Now I remembered that I, Sir Ludovic de Téléton, had come to Lignières and stopped at a place called the Auberge du Chasteau. At this name, I raised an eyebrow, for I saw there neither crenellated towers, nor drawbridge, nor machicolations from which to hurl burning pitch upon the enemy. No keep, no portcullis: great was my astonishment. However, many a castle is not made of stone alone, but can be a castle of flavors and good governance. And it is there that this place redeems itself with honor. I was served poultry prepared with curry and ginger, a dish of unusual origin but of very subtle artistry. The flesh was tender, the spices well-balanced, not harsh, but knowing how to speak to the palate like a minstrel at court. Admittedly, I must say without mincing words that the portion seemed rather small… but not through any stinginess on the part of the host: it's because I have a hearty appetite, and this dish, so delectable, opened my stomach more than it satisfied it. A minor fault, born not of poverty, but of excellence. Thus I left, not angry, but eager to return, which is the greatest homage a lord can pay. Better still: I am going to tell my king about it at once, so that, if he pleases, he may deign to visit this place which, without walls, knows how to hold court like a high fortress. A gentleman's word: this castle is on the plate.

10/09/2025: Very pleasant setting, we ordered a charcuterie board, very generous and more than enough for four people. We then ordered a piece from the butcher. The cooking is excellent, the meat melts in the mouth, the price is very reasonable, and all local products are delicious! I encourage you to share this culinary experience in this superb little place! The exemplary service is very pleasant, nothing to complain about.

08/04/2026: I'm not a fan. I much prefer the other Patapain restaurants I usually go to. Sorry about the ratings, but honestly, the service, the atmosphere, and the food just weren't up to par.

03/03/2026: I ordered a raspberry tartlet… which I unfortunately dropped, but the saleswoman was very kind and made us another one (yes, it was the last one!) which was even free! Very friendly, I recommend it!
