21/08/2024: Passez votre chemin, l'établissement a besoin d'un bon coup de nettoyage, mouches mortes sur les rebords des fenêtres, boissons empilées à l'entrée du restaurant, nappe sale, escaliers vers les toilettes n'ont pas été nettoyé depuis très très longtemps (même si nous n'y avons pas accès ça laisse à désirer), les toilettes sont propres quand-même il faut signaler le seul point positif 🤔 moutarde périmée, on demande un steak saignant il est plus que cuit, les frites très salées, le poisson tiède

05/12/2024: Reservation? Not everyone has the same definition. After having obtained a table without a word of apology, after having consulted the very tempting menu, arrived the entry. A mass covered in a thick white sauce hid the potato pie! The appearance was not there and the taste even less so! A half-raw, half-cooked mass with a strange taste. Next came the browned and fatty veal head surrounded by a pseudo mesclun with leaves heavily stained with rust. I give the potatoes a thumbs up. Fortunately we did not opt ​​for dessert. The arachnids who perhaps came to celebrate Halloween have forgotten their decorations in the toilets! What a waste, what a disappointment, for an establishment so well placed and with certain potential!!

On the meat side: discover the beef strips accompanied by real fries, you will be enchanted. A tip of the hat to the cook, who ensures the rhythm between “on-site” and “takeaway”. The cocktails are delicious. Go there without hesitation, you will have a sweet time, full of generosity.

10/06/2024: Stopped near here when cruising the canal of the Loire. Probably the best meal we had whilst in France. Good local dishes and reasonably priced. The owners also arranged to provide us with croissants the following morning due to the local bakery being permanently closed.

05/09/2024: Un buffet de autoservicio, normalmente no es genial, pero esto fue excelente. La carne estaba a la parrilla para ti, sólo tenías que elegir. El bourguignon de ternera era excelente, así como el salmón cocido. Deliciouand abundantes verduras. El servicio era sonriente y amable

Whereas before there were older dishes, clean and typical of a café. We used to have coffee on Sundays and it was always full of customers. Now it's almost empty. Change of boss, Change of servers. It's no longer worth anything. Too bad Café L'Escale, it was an address in St Gilles....
