19/09/2026: While visiting the city, we stopped for a drink at this bar. We were greeted with a smile, but the atmosphere was lacking. The bar offers scratch cards and PMU (horse racing betting), and also serves meals.

18/06/2026: Family run, rooms are very clean, the way they restored the room is delightful, the fixtures are high end, bed is very comfortable, food and wine excellent, try the local craft beer, lots of parking and the young lady managing everything is passionate and friendly. Good find in an otherwise slightly barren but bucolic area!

04/06/2026: The most helpful and wonderful people we met during our journey in France. Long story short: I injured my leg, and while driving back home, our car broke down near Ussel. As we urgently searched for a place to stay, we ended up at the Grand Hôtel—and it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to us. François helped us with absolutely everything: communicating with the workshop, finding local services, and, most importantly, providing us with a charming and comfortable place to stay. His kindness and support helped us cope with all the unexpected problems that suddenly came our way. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, the rooms are comfortable, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. To my mind this hotel could be a perfect base for exploring the beautiful surrounding region. A million thanks to François and the entire team for their hospitality, professionalism, and genuine care. We will never forget your help during a very difficult moment of our trip. Highly recommended!

06/09/2026: On our way to Spain, we stopped overnight in an apartment just a minute from this pizzeria and decided to try it… it was absolutely amazing! This is the most delicious pizza I've ever had ❤️ It's a shame they're closed tomorrow, otherwise we would have bought some for the trip. Well, maybe we'll get some on the way back; I'll be looking forward to it 🙏🏻

02/09/2026: As tourists, we stopped at this bistro for lunch. We ate outside, where there was some passing traffic, and a group of people inside made it quite noisy, but not unpleasant. The service was quick, the owners were friendly and attentive to what was missing (an empty bread tray, for example). They offer classic French dishes: excellent bavette steak with shallots, or the butcher's cut, and for dessert, a delicious crème brûlée. The very definition of a bistro. Everything you expect from a bistro is there: simple, French cuisine with good value! We recommend it!

02/09/2026: We came yesterday at lunchtime and received a warm welcome. The dishes were well-presented and very good. The fries were homemade and not salty. We just found the salad dressing a little too spicy for our taste. Otherwise, I recommend it and we will gladly return.

13/09/2026: On the road leading to the Black Rocks Viaduct, you'll find a restaurant (definitely not to be missed!) serving generous portions of local cuisine. We went there as a family on a Sunday at lunchtime and received a very warm welcome from the staff. We had a wonderful meal, and everything was excellent (photo attached).
