27/08/2026: Oh, I just love this bar. A must visit. We stumbled across this location (up a steep side street), and found a true local establishment of charm and eccentricity. Unpretentious and casual, you order at the bar, sit wherever, and feel at home. The staff was delightful, the dog amusingly unfriendly (but also very well managed in a separated space), and the local blond beer was fresh and absolutely delicious. Don't expect to be pandered to any rudeness tolerated, but instead your good manners will bring out a fantastic local experience that you will remember. Thank you so much for your great hospitality (twice, as we had to visit a second time!)

16/08/2026: We had a small glass of dry white Muscadet sur lie, which went very well with our figs stuffed with foie gras, while waiting for the restaurant scheduled for 9pm

25/08/2026: Very disappointed. We booked a table for 12:45 PM. We arrived on time, but our table had already been given away. The waitress asked us to wait. 20 minutes later, we were seated. The non-alcoholic piña colada cocktail was not very good. The cassoulet needs improvement; it was probably made with canned beans. The beans were hard. There was no enjoyment whatsoever, even though we finished our plates (I don't pay to throw food away). The children's menu was overpriced for what it was: two chicken tenders and a tub of ice cream from a store-bought container for €13. They didn't even offer any compensation for the wait. Offering the only coffee we ordered would have been a nice touch. In short, I advise you to avoid this place; for the same price, there must be much better options. One thing is for sure: I will never return.

23/08/2026: The food was good, but not homemade with "good" ingredients. The waitresses shouted and smoked in front of the customers; their uniforms weren't appropriate, which was a bit of a letdown. It's a good restaurant, but the attitude and professionalism were lacking!

24/08/2026: A wonderful experience on the edge of the old town. Excellent service, generous portions.

23/08/2026: The food was good value for money, though nothing exceptional. They have reasonably priced set menus. In our case, the staff didn't take our order (in writing). This, combined with them mistakenly bringing us a dish from another table, led to the staff giving us dirty looks on several occasions. I understand the confusion, but it wasn't our fault in any of the cases, and they can save their dirty looks for when they're not around. It's true that they didn't charge us for these mistakes, which is something that happens in other places. Finally, and I think due to the errors and confusion, the desserts and the bill took a very long time. Overall, a bad experience. I wouldn't go back even if they paid the bill.

05/06/2026: Excellent restaurant with delicious local produce in a beautiful old building, very close to the old town of Sarlat. Very reasonable prices for the quality. We did not stay at the hotel.

29/08/2026: We wanted to have a late lunch around 2 pm and were welcomed without any problem. The restaurant was full. We chose the cassoulet and the foie gras burger, which was delicious. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient.

27/08/2026: We did not make reservation,so we were seated inside, which was fine. Although not busy (only our table of 4 and another) we ordered drinks then waited over 15mins for the waiters to stop chatting to each over before they came over to take food order. At that point we were a bit frustrated and decided to just pay up for our drinks and find somewhere else that valued your custom. Three waiters suddenly sprang into gear at this point to express their surprise that we were leaving. The head waiter or owner made a snide comment that they ‘are not a bar, only come to restaurant to eat’. Pretty much summed up the service and any doubt about walking out was justified. Was definitely a one off bad experience, service in all the restaurants in this part of France has been excellent and people very friendly.
