16/01/2026: We came as a group of three in mid-December and it was a wonderful discovery! Then, in mid-January, a group of ten for a birthday celebration. The welcome and service were top-notch. The quality and presentation of the dishes were equally impressive! The waitress kept up incredibly well (we had around 25 people that day), and there was practically no wait! The value for money is excellent! We will definitely be back.

28/12/2025: There were three of us without a reservation, and we were warmly welcomed and given excellent advice. The pizza, truffle calzone, and osso buco were also delicious. The service was quick, and the bill of around 80 euros, which included three homemade tiramisu and a bottle of Bardolino, was reasonable. I recommend this small, unpretentious restaurant; it's a great place to discover its charm.

06/10/2025: We arrive at the manor house via a tree-lined path, and it suddenly appears. The dining room and terrace overlook a beautiful, unobstructed view. The dishes are well-presented, refined, and of very good quality. The prestige menu for 52 euros offers a delicious tasting experience. A quiet location, I recommend it.

The cuisine appears simple (open-faced sandwiches and pizzas) but is enriched with surprising touches (various flowers and sprouts) that enhance the flavors and textures, crafted with imagination and passion. A very reasonable price for a complete and hearty meal. €32. Don't be put off by the address in Lyons-la-Forêt!

12/12/2025: Delicious coffee roasted on-site, a tea collection to suit all tastes, excellent homemade hot chocolate, and plenty of other indulgent hot drinks. During the summer, you can also enjoy refreshing iced tea.

01/03/2026: As regulars at La Vieille Gabelle, we were particularly disappointed by our visit today. Unfortunately, the quality is no longer up to the standard of our previous visits. Several issues spoiled our evening: • Disregard for reservation requirements: I specifically requested a table on the ground floor for my mother, who has a knee problem. Despite this, we were seated upstairs. And don't even get me started on the U-shaped table for five people—it was absurd! • Disappointing ambiance: The upstairs room is shabby, extremely noisy, and the mismatched chairs detract from the expected level of service. It's far from the atmosphere of a "fine dining" establishment. • Declining value for money: The portions are noticeably smaller. The photo of the trout gravlax, with its three tiny pieces, is a perfect example: for the price of the set menus, it's woefully inadequate. • Slow service: Arrived at 7 pm, left at 10:15 pm... The service was slow and poorly paced. It's a real shame, but this experience has put us off returning anytime soon…

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves: Veules oysters, perfectly cooked fish, and a remarkable cheese platter showcasing Norman products. The dessert, a coconut floating island, was absolutely delicious. An excellent restaurant that we highly recommend.
