27/05/2026: You might ask, "Why would I dine at a Japanese restaurant when visiting Vernon?" In our case, we enjoy French food, but need a break now and then. We discovered Fujiyama while exploring Vernon, before our visit to nearby Giverny. We were more than pleasantly surprised. The sushi, sashimi and rolls offered in their "Love Boat" offering for two was fresh, fabulous and extremely reasonable by US standards. We even got a bottle of decent French white wine for 15 Euros.The other options on the menu looked awesome, too. Be aware that this is not a fancy place by any means. There is comfortable seating and the service was fine. However, the vast majority of their business is take-out, with a steady stream of locals, who seem to know a great deal when they see one.

The couscous was so good, the meat excellent, flavorful, and tender, as were the fine semolina and vegetables. A real treat! I highly recommend it. See you soon! (3 years ago) Average couscous, bland, greasy lamb skewer, rather disappointed given the number of positive reviews! Change of chef? Pleasant and smiling staff! Also, a tendency to group people together (lack of privacy). I'm adding a comment to the one I posted 3 years ago. I'm adding another star for tonight. We sat on the street side, which was more intimate than in the dining room. The vegetables and semolina were tasty (we were looking for the chickpeas), the meats were served roughly, a thick lamb chop, a thick piece of beef, and the chicken and merguez were okay. I was expecting more of a lamb skewer or neck. Friendly waitress, smiling owner, but nothing particularly warm either. Plate of oriental pastries: 3 gazelle horns.

10/05/2026: Perfect! We exited the motorway for a quick lunch in Bourg Achard and received a very warm welcome. We enjoyed a delicious meal in a very pleasant atmosphere.

21/05/2026: No complaints about the food, however, the service was poor. The waitress brought the dish and handed it to you, but the plate was scalding hot. I think when you go to a restaurant, you expect to be served, so she should put the plate on the table.

25/05/2026: Family-run hotel with a pool and restaurant, the welcome was perfect. We enjoyed the pool, the beautiful garden, and the restaurant; everything is homemade and delicious. The children's menu is even gourmet (no fries and nuggets, but carefully prepared dishes). My son already wants to go back. Thank you!!
