07/11/2025: EUREKA... First time I've managed to book a table. We were familiar with the products in the shop, as well as some of the restaurant's suppliers, as we shop there regularly, but we had never actually dined in the restaurant. The choice was already difficult, as we were tempted by so many things. We opted for the tasting menu at €34. I recommend a light breakfast so you arrive on an empty stomach. A platter of local charcuterie, varied and impressive. Then the meats: the beef was cooked exactly as my former apprentice chef, the head saucier at Café de Paris (MC), taught me. The lamb chops reminded me of the Sisteron lamb I ate as a child. The beef in sauce was flavorful. The desserts were delicious. A menu fit for Gargantua, as Rabelais, the Grand Master of culinary refinement, described him. Nothing more to add, except that the service is always impeccable. It is always easier to book outside of peak season (and outside of weekends).

11/12/2025: I dined here with some friends in May 2023 having been recommended on the basis of new ownership. First the good bits; the ambience is good, we dined inside and the outside courtyard looks very inviting the choice of wines is excellent and even better they are reasonably priced the menu choices are quite good for dessert 3 of us had creme brulee which was excellent as was the fourth one and I have forgotten what it was Now the not so good bits; I had parmentier a la canard which was good, but the mash was a bit dry, the whole thing could be improved with a little sauce of some kind. the really big complaint I have is that it was served on a dish which was cracked almost all the way across and should NEVER have been used to serve food. one of my friends had loup, which was a really small portion and was served just about warm on a cold plate another had the carbonara, it too was just about warm and served on a cold plate another had the cotes de cochons this also was just about warm and served on a cold plate If the food had been served to an acceptable standard then the prices would probably be considered just about reasonable, however given all the things I mentioned above then on this particular evening it was poor value for money. Will I be back ? Probably if only to see what the chef has done with the cracked dish !!!! I have to say that all my recent experiences have been excellent, food and service were good, the wine was excellent and all reasonable value for money. 29/01/2026: Absolutely superb! A very well-run place. The carpaccio was amazing, you can tell it's their specialty! We thoroughly enjoyed it! The decor around the till might be a little odd, but we couldn't care less after having a couple of bottles with our friends, hahaha. We'll definitely be back!

28/11/2025: I can't rate the rooms as I didn't stay there. However, every meal was a delight! The staff were incredibly kind, unpretentious, and the cuisine was truly French. It's a real pleasure to eat there! Moreover, the setting is calm, welcoming, very clean, and the food is very generous. Come and stop by; you won't be disappointed!

08/11/2025: A very warm welcome. The staff are very friendly. The food is excellent and plentiful. The price was €76 for two people, including wine and an aperitif. I highly recommend this establishment.

11/10/2025: Very disappointing! I ate twice in this restaurant 2 years ago, it was excellent: simple, traditional cuisine, no frills, but very good. I invited friends, thinking they would enjoy it, unfortunately, I was not aware that there had been a change of owner... what a disappointment! I had a gourmet salad that I had previously found excellent, I was served a plate overflowing with various things, but above all drowned under a pile of bread croutons tossed in the pan. My husband had a duck vol au vent with morels: soggy and spongy vol au vent and he is still looking for morels! The trout steak was overcooked and what can we say about the tarte tatin for dessert, supposedly "homemade" served with not whipped cream but crème fraîche in a small pot, without sugar or flavoring!..... With that, a totally unjustified increase in prices given the poor quality of what we were served. I got fooled once, there won't be another! Move on, there's nothing more to see at the Meadow of Happiness!

10/01/2026: Every time I visit mirepoix (which is often) I love coming here. The service and food is consistently 10/10… and the wine is an experience. ❤️💙🤍

28/12/2025: My wife and are in the area for our honeymoon and decided to come to Mirepoix for a day between Toulouse and Carcassonne (which was a side trip of itself from our planned time in northern Spain) We did not stay at L'Autre Jardin but we did have dinner here on a whim as it is fairly sleepy here in the winter and the choices for food were rather slim. This was the only restaurant that didn't seem like it was either too casual or too touristy. Can I say, this was one of the best dining experiences I've had in my life. The staff did not speak much English, and I not much French (not even enough to be dangerous, unfortunately) but we managed well enough and were treated kindly and warmly through out our time visiting. The food was SUPERB, some of the best french cooking I've had. Well balanced flavors, fresh, and a perfect portion for each course. the pintade chaponée was mouth wateringly good with balanced butternut and potato pavé(?) to cut the salt and richness of the guinea fowl. The potato pavé was the best I've had in quite some time. My wife was very pleased with her grilled octopus. I cannot recommend eating here enough. Merci infiniment pour votre hospitalité.

18/01/2026: Excellent restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. We had the raclette, which was a generous portion, and the children had the chicken tenders, which were both tender inside and crispy outside. We highly recommend it.

31/12/2025: A perfect break between runs, both for the delicious food and the warm welcome and service! We were a group of eight (including four children) and everything was perfect 🤩. A lovely little treat for the children with dessert, thank you again 🙏🏻 Best of luck!

21/09/2025: We want to share our fabulous experience at this hostel. We arrived here on a rainy August night, after an eight-day trek across the Pyrenees from Spain. The welcome was spectacular. We didn't have a reservation; everything was full, but at the last minute, some guests who had reserved a room couldn't get in and were able to offer it to us. We had planned to stay one night, but ended up staying for three. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is very welcoming, and Jackie, the founder, continues to be the soul of this hostel. The homemade apple tarts are delicious. We will definitely return. Thank you so much!!!

28/08/2025: Perfect hiker's dormitory, perfect meals and breakfast. A real comfort after several days in the high mountains. We loved the excellent mashed potatoes with turnips, as well as the homemade chocolate mousse 😋
