28/08/2024: Nous cherchions un endroit où manger en rentrant du pays basque. Quel bonheur de nous être arrêtés. Le lieu est très beau décoré avec beaucoup de goût. La cuisine est encore plus belle que le lieu. Le patron très agréable. Foie gras cassoulet etc carte des vins exceptionnelle. Bref un endroit à ne pas rater. +++++++

16/09/2024: A superb evening in a dream setting. The restaurant is ideally located in the historic city with the magnificent ramparts as a backdrop.
We had a flawless meal from start to finish.
Impeccable service with attentive staff, present but discreet.
Each dish more tempting than the last.
The only thing to improve is the exterior signage of the restaurant, we did not immediately understand that it was located in the city hotel.
15/09/2024: Always a wonderful experience, each time I visit Carcassonne I make sure to book in for lunch. This time I treated myself to dinner, which was as expected, magical dining.

The only thing is that one of the waiters who served us was a little confused: he brought us the wine/appetizer list first when he should have brought us the menu/card first. He didn't let us taste the wine and served it directly to us, filling the glasses too much. He seemed to be in a hurry to take note. He would surely be an apprentice. The rest very good. We will repeat

We were happy to discover this good address but we will move on.
A smile, an appropriate and polite turn of phrase, would have made the difference

The truth is that it was very good, the coffee was good, the pastries the same, the only bad thing is that inside it only has a couple of tables and if they are full you have to go outside, luckily it wasn't cold when we went, but the tables and chairs to put One but to the place, they should fix them up a little. But recommended if you want to have breakfast near the castle.

We bought 4 quiches but 2 of them were not fresh ( fish one had very bad smell) .
Cookies were not fresh neither.

09/07/2025: We only visited the free area because the price was €19. I think it's very expensive compared to other major monuments in Spain. What we saw caught our attention: the castle with battlements, busy streets with tourists, and a lively atmosphere. You can easily visit it in a day, eating inside and taking home a souvenir.

14/09/2024: Well a little confused and totally unimpressed; I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant on my trip to Carcassonne. We walked in at 19.30 on a Saturday night and asked for a table for three. The guy asked if I had a reservation and I said no; he then said reservations only and the restaurant was empty apart from one table of four…..
So I’m totally confused and rather upset as it made no sense; the only thing I good think of is that they obviously don’t want tourists and it’s a place for the locals - shame on you Le Cathare it’s put a sour taste in my mouth now for the rest of my trip

09/09/2024: Very good and refined cuisine. The servers are very friendly and smiling. If you are looking to eat on a shaded terrace, with lots of charm, in a street far from the usual hustle and bustle of the city, I recommend the cauldron.
