15/09/2024: We arrived 10 minutes late and they didn't hesitate to tell us.
Then I had a starter and the cheese and more thought (you realize that it's not much)

11/08/2024: An excellent lunch served at this goose farm in their beautiful open walled stone building, once perhaps barns, and with tables outside under trees for the very necessary shade - it was 39°C today!
Five courses, focussing on very high quality home produced foie gras and other outstanding local specialities - duck etc. A traditional sweet aperitif, vin de noix & pineau des Charentes, served pate.
Then four more quite large courses, all perfectly cooked and served by smiling, happy owners and staff. House wine was good, we had the rosé; the bottle of red we chose was excellent - AOC Pécharmant 2018!
A fair price for such high quality. We will return, for sure.

Opgediend. Na 1 uur stonden we alweer buiten. Sfeer is wel heel ontspannen.

16/08/2024: An opinion on the restaurant... Friendly welcome but we quickly become disillusioned with a stingy starter, white fish carpaccio, which you have to seek out. Then the wines served by the glass by an apprentice who serves half doses... You have to ask! Finally a really overcooked fish...too bad. We are asked for our opinion, which we give, but no commercial gesture

Special mention for the lavender duck which was delicious!
09/09/2024: What can we say about this beautiful address. A very good welcome, repartee, humor, good humor, very good service even if the main thing (but not only!) remains the culinary service. We were four guests and we all appreciated this address. A very nice rib of beef for two cooked perfectly (above average quantity), and two beautiful fish fillets with equivalent cooking quality (white-translucent core). The accompaniments were well done. A good dessert to finish. A wine list at reasonable prices. A very good evening on the terrace with the weather in sync. We will be happy to return to this address to discover the other dishes on the menu.
Thanks again to our "waitress" who participated in this good time.

20/09/2024: Pleasant setting and service, however the service is not professional (aperitif glass left on the table throughout the meal, etc.) not very generous.
09/09/2024: We were a group and everyone had a great time, all the dishes were delicious. Homemade ice creams are a marvel...!

The managers and their team provide impeccable service.
Ideal location for day trips, and central in the town of Brantôme.
The breakfasts (hearty) and the hearty meals too (quality local specialties), are served, among other things, by the managers with professionalism and a touch of very appreciable humor.
Room/bathroom well equipped and very clean.
Book with your eyes closed!

12/08/2024: What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Friendly, helpful staff who were always happy to help. Amazing breakfasts and dinner was out of this world!
10/08/2024: We stopped at the Charbonnel hotel which gave us a very professional welcome.
The room, although being the smallest (latest availability, information provided in advance at the time of booking) was very cozy. Comfortable bedding with a view of the river. Perfect for our overnight stop.
Evening meal on the waterside terrace; refined, pleasant staff. Hearty breakfast on the terrace or indoors if you prefer. We will happily make a stopover at this hotel again.

10/09/2024: In a pleasant pedestrian street off of one of the main 'touristy' squares. Great lunchtime choice of salads, creatively assembled, followed by café gourmand with home baked patisserie. Reasonably priced and service was unobtrusive and pleasantly efficient. A warm day so we sat at a pavement table but there is seating inside and in a courtyard at the rear. A great find.

20/08/2024: I appreciated the continuous service because I was very well received and it was 2:30 p.m. The staff is really very friendly and the manager, a character, is fabulous! Very good food and very fast service! I will come back for my next vacation!!!!

12/09/2024: Nous sommes revenus malgré une première expérience décevante. L'attente avant la commande, pendant le repas entre chaque plat , le service complètement désorganisé bien que 2 jeunes serveurs aient transgressé la règle "je sers mais ne prend pas les commandes..."sinon nous serions restés 3 heures1/2 à table. La nourriture était correcte mais les portions inégales si 3 convives prenaient le même plat. Personnel débordé pas de sourire pas de suivi des plats même pas à la caisse. Le pompon c'est lorsqu'on voit apposé sur le mur d'entrée l'adoubement par Gault et Millau de table gourmande. Qui est venu visiter cet établissement ? Nous n'étions pas les seuls mécontents. En tout cas nous ne reviendrons plus.

Taking reservations without even tomorrow who summons us, in the event of a rush, big questions to find out how they identify and find customers one among the others.
The service, 'not much to say since there is not much to judge,
Just in 1 hour spent in the restaurant water caraph fell while wanting to get rid of it,
Minimum limit of excuse made knowing that one of my guests had his legs watered,
Use two knives?
For meat?
The waitress who stands in front of the door of her pass to look at us intensively,
Very pleasant when you have to spend a friendly moment and you feel people's gaze.
The Kitchen,
Prawns filled with sand for a starter,
In terms of the rare deander steak dish, I had it blue, I prefer to have it medium rare but hey...
It's not all that serious but it allows you to have a more disappointing time than anything else, we're not going to lie about the 29 euros of the menu considering who is served and very limited..
In short, I don't recommend it.

Even I who don't eat a lot, the quantities are scary
The burnt and tiny duck sausage and the overcooked fries.
The chestnut cake is just as tiny
They forgot to specify that they only serve children's menus.
