26/01/2026: La Soï is a small, cozy little place where they specialize entirely in tarte flambée… and how! What you see is what you get: a warm, cozy bar with high and low tables, people relaxing at the bar, and an extremely charming host who caters to everyone's every need. The tarte flambée was delicious and left us wanting more. The recommended dry Riesling was also excellent. We're so glad we stopped in and will definitely be back!

29/11/2025: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! My partner and I booked this restaurant expecting to find an elegant atmosphere, respectful staff, and a level of hospitality befitting a Michelin-starred establishment. Unfortunately, the reality was completely the opposite. We were literally turned away, rudely and humiliatingly, simply for asking to order only one dish each from the à la carte menu. According to the restaurant's "internal rules"—which, of course, are nowhere to be found on their website or The Fork—you are required to order either an appetizer + first course or a first course + dessert. This rule was imposed and enforced arrogantly, with no intention of finding a solution. To make matters worse, the owner herself, instead of clarifying the situation professionally, decided to raise her voice and boast that "she makes the rules, whenever she wants." This was aggressive, disrespectful, and completely out of place, especially considering that the problem stemmed simply from the fact that, not finding any other dishes we liked, we wanted to order only two—a completely normal choice in a restaurant offering an a la carte menu. We had never been treated with such rudeness and arrogance, let alone kicked out of a restaurant, let alone a Michelin-starred one. We left feeling bitter, disappointed, and genuinely shocked.

29/11/2025: The most frustrating restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I booked this restaurant through TheFork, where a specific menu was clearly displayed. When we arrived, we were given a completely different menu — none of the listed dishes were available, and almost every option contained mushrooms. We don’t eat mushrooms, and the staff told us they could not remove a single ingredient from any dish. So we ordered the only two options left. That’s when things became unbelievable. The owner suddenly told us that we were “required” to order two dishes per person. When we asked where this rule was written, she said she decides when and to whom the rule applies, simply because “it’s her place”. When we calmly tried to explain our situation, she literally shushed us, putting her finger to her mouth and laughing at us in front of her entire staff. It was humiliating and completely unprofessional. Then she invented another rule on the spot: unless we ordered two dishes each, we would have to pay an extra £15 per person. This “fee” is not written anywhere, AND SHE AGREED THAT — not on the menu, not on the website, not on the booking confirmation. Moments later, she kicked us out of the restaurant in the most disrespectful way, in front of everyone. Not surprisingly, this was also the only empty restaurant in the entire Colmar. Avoid this place at all costs. Misleading, rude, unprofessional, and genuinely the worst dining experiences I’ve had in years.

16/01/2026: What a lovely find this place was. Fairly small and cozy, but very nice atmosphere. The waiting staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly and spoke English. They took their time to explain the menu thoroughly to us, all of which was delicious. 3 options for starters, mains and desserts, so not an overwhelming choice, but somewhere that focuses on quality over quantity. All courses were delicious, but I particularly enjoyed the giant profiterole dessert! Thank you for such a wonderful evening

08/01/2026: We had lunch for 23 euros per person (starter + main course or dessert + main course). Everything was very good, only the lentil stew was more like an appetizer, not a main course. In general, the portions could be a little bigger and more generous. But all in all, the service, interior and food are top notch.

13/02/2026: We had a wonderful evening at Caveau Saint-Jean. We received excellent service from Annie and her colleagues—they were very kind, attentive, and welcoming, which immediately created a relaxed atmosphere. The pizza and the tarte flambée were both delicious, clearly prepared with care. The coffee was also very good, a lovely way to end the meal. Add to that a friendly and lively atmosphere, and you have all the ingredients for a successful evening. Highly recommended for those visiting Colmar who want to eat well in a pleasant atmosphere.

The food is delicious, it feels like I'm eating at my parents' house on Sundays!!! 🤗 From the service to the plates, just one small drawback: at my parents' house, I take a nap after a good meal!!! 🤗🤣 P.S. 04/01/2026: By far the best food we’ve had on our trip around Europe in the past 2 weeks. Arriving at the restaurant itself at night through the vineyards alone was already a uniquely fun experience. Their braised ham was cooked to absolute perfection(well worth the extra wait required), the black angus steak was also juicy and perfectly flavoured… If this was located in a touristy part of town they’d have 2 hour lineups for sure, but I sure am glad that this is a hidden gem.

A lovely time spent enjoying traditional home-style cooking and professional, efficient service. Looking forward to returning next time.

22/11/2024: Very good pastry shop in Colmar I went to this pastry shop with my girlfriend during a Colmar day. The restaurant is located along the avenue that leads from the train station to the historic center. Outside there are tables and some parking with parking discs. The interior is large and displays many pastry products. We had éclairs and a sweet chocolate escargot. The pastas were delicious and very tasty. The prices are honest considering the high quality of the products.
