02/05/2026: We were devoted customers of La Florentine for 20 years until the owner's retirement this summer. We wanted to try the new version with the change of ownership. New decor. Brand new tables, chairs, and lighting. So far, so good. New menu. And what a disappointment! Very little choice. Prices have skyrocketed and are worthy of the French Riviera. €19.50 for the salmon galette. The same for the scallop one. Gone are the Mots Bleus, which we loved. The cider has doubled in price... We order what's left within our budget. Upon arrival, another disappointment. The galette arrives at the same time as the cider and peanuts. So much for an aperitif. The corners of the galette are dry and cold. The galette is stuck to the plate. Only the center remains soft and slightly warm. The clearly visible, pre-packaged slice of ham isn't very appealing either. We have music playing in our ears. We can't hear each other anymore. We move on to dessert. Opening the menu, the prices of the crêpes stop us in our tracks once again. We order ice cream, which is cheaper. The tables have turned. Cruel disappointment. We've lost our favorite, and so friendly, crêperie. May 2026 update: We knew that at these prices, it couldn't last in St. Gilles. The result this month: a change of name and transformation into a brasserie. What a waste! The loss of such a good crêperie and therefore a part of our culture.

29/04/2026: It's slow, it's cold, the waiter should know how to take criticism and not roll his eyes. There are hardly any crêpes or galettes left... for a crêperie, that's a shame! The change of ownership is painful for the regulars.

13/09/2026: A very limited choice of ribeye steak or black pudding. For ice cream, only two flavors to choose from… to broaden the selection of the two main courses offered, we opted for a starter, as a main course, for 15 euros! Surprise when it came time to pay: we learned that the starters we had chosen and eaten had increased from 15 to 25 euros! At no point were we informed of this price change. Frankly, it's dishonest and deceitful! And don't even get me started on the price of a bottle of wine! A bucket full of water greeted us in the restroom because there was a leak… It's a real shame because the setting is magnificent! Don't trust the video circulating on social media… it's far from the reality.

13/09/2026: Exceptional!!! We went there yesterday with a small group of friends and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The owners are lovely and the food is simply divine...

01/09/2026: We arrived around 1:30 PM, and there was hardly anything left to eat. We ordered Caesar salads, which were truly awful: no croutons or dressing, and the "pieces of chicken" (if that's what they were) were grainy, like reconstituted or old chicken scraps. There was a torn slice of bacon on the salad—the worst Caesar salad of my life. The wait was incredibly long because the waiter was overwhelmed with only three or four tables. On top of that, my son was sick all afternoon after eating there. Avoid at all costs.

29/08/2026: A very bad experience. Only one server, who, although friendly, kept making mistakes and forgetting things. We arrived a little before 1 p.m. and were told that almost half the menu was unavailable. We opted for Caesar salads and were very disappointed: contrary to what was indicated, there were no croutons in the salad and no dressing at all. Half a hard-boiled egg and a cheap, torn slice of bacon were placed on top of the salad, and the chicken was really strange, barely out of the fridge... We skipped dessert given the poor quality. The prices are comparable to Parisian prices for such deplorable quality.

09/07/2026: The staff were welcoming, but that's about it! We ordered a pizza, which was made with frozen dough and cost €12. The steak tartare, priced at €16, wasn't actually prepared at all, not even with a knife. It was simply ground beef, and the dish was lukewarm. The Italian burger was good. The "homemade" fries were not. The quality was terrible!

04/09/2026: I sometimes stay at this hotel when I'm traveling for work. The welcome is warm, the room is pleasant, and as for the restaurant, it's a pure delight! The service and the meals offered are excellent!! I recommend it 100%.

16/07/2026: Comments: I'm traveling all week and used to hotels. The restaurant was incredibly good, a real treat, excellent value for money. However, the room was really more than average: the bedding needs replacing, the cushions are yellow, the cleaning was superficial, the air conditioning was bad (no fan, no bottled water, nothing).

09/09/2026: I came for lunch with all my colleagues, and we had a fantastic meal! The meat was cooked exactly as requested, the service was quick, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend it!

02/09/2026: I come here very regularly with my colleagues for lunch and it's always a pleasure. The food is good, the service is quick and very welcoming. The terrace is pleasant, which is rare for a shopping center. The restaurant is spacious, so if you come without a reservation, there's always a table for you 😁

22/07/2026: The welcome was pleasant, but otherwise... The terrace is located right next to the road, which isn't very nice. I ate, or rather didn't eat, the Janzé guinea fowl. It was a leg that wasn't cooked (not just pink, but undercooked). As for dessert, a "revisited" mille-feuille consisted of a few layers of puff pastry, flavorless whipped cream, and the same for the few pieces of strawberries. It's not expensive, but it's disappointing.

06/07/2026: I've been going there occasionally for about fifteen years, much less often now because the portions are much smaller than before, and the food isn't as good—it's really basic. Meanwhile, the prices have gone up! And the waitress isn't very friendly. Not pleasant at all. It's the complete opposite of how it used to be, really! Disappointed.

05/07/2026: The products are of good quality (bread, pastries, etc.), but I no longer frequent this bakery, like many people around me. We all share the same observation: this haughty and incredibly unpleasant waitress, who radically changes her behavior and acts like the perfect saleswoman in front of her bosses, but when she's alone, she's disrespectful to customers, speaks to you with contempt, and shows no politeness whatsoever, not even a greeting. This inconsistent service has forced me to choose another bakery, like many others in the town. It's as if she's trying to bankrupt the business. I'll gladly return when this person is no longer there. Given the numerous complaints about this saleswoman in the town, it's perhaps time to take action to win back the dozens of customers who can no longer tolerate her haughty and inappropriate way of serving bread. She should be filmed to see the differences in service because it's truly unbelievable!

03/10/2026: By pure chance, we ended up in this restaurant—if I can even call it a restaurant, I'd say it's more like a canteen. Anyway, the prices were reasonable, and the menu looked quite appealing... Once there, we asked to be seated inside, but we were instead seated in a veranda with the door wide open, so it would have been the same as being outside. And what can I say about the main course? Two duck parmentiers! We wondered when they'd been made; even pre-packaged meals are better. Sure enough, we were sick all night with stomach cramps and vomiting... So, if I can offer any advice, keep going, and dear Mr. Manager, ask yourself some questions, because I see I'm not the only one complaining!

29/09/2026: Excellent food at fair prices. I recommend the cod parmentier, a generous portion served with a salad. The mussels are served with fries, which is exceptional as they are charged extra at €5 in other restaurants. Top-notch service. Smiling, friendly staff and quick service. Lovely terrace. I highly recommend this establishment.

05/09/2026: Hello, I'm very disappointed with this order of a Black Forest cake for 6 people at €26.50. At the checkout, the box was already sealed, and I couldn't see the cake in person. Upon opening it, the appearance was very flat, more reminiscent of a layered dessert than a traditional, generous Black Forest cake. The disappointment was confirmed by the taste: the use of canned cherries (like those with a dripping syrup) instead of real Amarena cherries or prepared sour cherries ruined the expected flavor profile. For this price, and coming from a bakery with the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France), it simply didn't live up to expectations.

29/09/2026: We entrusted La Cantine de François with the catering for our wedding, and we couldn't have asked for more. The dishes were presented in an original way, the flavors were fantastic, and the portions were perfectly suited to the number of guests. Thank you for everything!

25/09/2026: Couscous for 30 people at home... excellent and a good quantity. I recommend it.
