25/07/2026: Atmosphere, service, staff, everything about this place was absolutely perfect. We ordered 3 fish and chips…. The only thing let down was the fish(chewy and rubbery rather than flaky). I recommend this place just not the fish and chips.

25/06/2026: I enjoyed discovering this restaurant, which makes delicious homemade salads and tarts using fresh, local ingredients, available for dine-in or takeout. The service was friendly and attentive. Note: If you're in a hurry to take out, this isn't the place for you.

06/07/2026: Service took a long time and food was not Served as per Menue. Morillen were missing and also the pomme with calvados was missing in the dish. Also the sauce as Described after asking the waiter was a different one. 2 years ago Reservation was suddenly cancelled due to an private Event. We will not come back.

18/06/2026: The waitress knows nothing about tea, the prices are excessive for such mediocre quality... Another attempt, 6 years later: 3 ice creams, 3 drinks, €40... The waitress, whom we asked to get her act together, was unfriendly. I sympathize; there's no air conditioning on the terrace...

Fresh, local ingredients, superbly prepared and served at the ideal temperature. Many thanks to the chef and his entire team for sharing these delicious dishes. 14/07/2026: Lunch as a couple. Excellent set menu. Paired with a Chardonnay. A very good place. Perfect service and very pleasant staff.

13/07/2026: Exactly what we were looking for for our romantic dinner. A cozy atmosphere, attentive staff, beautifully presented dishes. The added bonus was the generous portions. The price reflects the quality of service, so, obviously, it's a bit more expensive than the local snack bar. Although some snack bars on the French Riviera charge similar prices.

05/06/2026: We went out with friends and had a wonderful time. The waiter was very charming and welcoming. We ate very well; the dishes and desserts were beautifully presented and very tasty.

05/06/2026: Decided on a change of venue for my overnight stay on the way down France and found this and was well worth the effort of searching! Will start with the food, I had the room and menu option which was unbelievable value! £132.00 for the room, 3 course dinner (with a supplement on the starter), glass of champagne and 2 glasses of very good wine and then breakfast in the morning! The food is excellent, well cooked, well presented and as delicious as I hoped it would be. The other menu option is a reasonable €40 had an impressive selection of options too. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the chef came to chat to the customers at the end of the evening. The room was simple, but everything you need (the fan was a bit noisy but OK, there are only sachets of shower gel/shampoo so remember your own toiletries) but very clean with lovely wooden floors and a comfortable bed. Check in if the restaurant is not open is easy and hassle free. I managed to park directly opposite FOC and there is ample parking round the corner also FOC. All in all a hearty recommendation and is a short walk from the centre of Chalon if you would like a post dinner stroll (and is definitely worth the stroll from the centre of town, so reserve a table now!)

14/04/2026: Excellent welcome, generous and well-prepared home-style cooking, and a varied and high-quality wine list. It's hard to find establishments like this anymore, with a truly family-run, unpretentious atmosphere and honest cuisine.

10/05/2026: Great location, excellent value for money... The food was absolutely delicious... The receptionist was cold and unfriendly, but the rest of the staff were young, smiling, and really pleasant! I wish the trainee who served us throughout the meal all the best! And kudos to the chef!

29/06/2026: The pizzas were small, undercooked, mostly honey and very little goat cheese, and we had to throw away the salmon one – it had gone bad! No more salt!

29/07/2026: A very pleasant experience with Stessy, a very generous and attentive waitress. We ordered a salad which was supposed to include avocados, and she apologized several times for not having them because they weren't ripe. She also generously offered us a complimentary drink of our choice. I highly recommend it!
