28/11/2025: We went for a drink after a great day of hiking. Nice atmosphere, very friendly and smiling staff, a really great playlist that you definitely don't find everywhere... So, I went back every day and it was just as good. Highly recommended!

01/02/2026: Le Mercière is my favorite restaurant in Lyon - a city where it is very hard to pick a favorite! The food, menu, staff, and atmosphere are delicious, full of traditional Lyonnais delights, professional and friendly, and exactly what you should expect from a bouchon Lyonnais. My husband and I have been visiting this restaurant for more than a decade together and he, a native to Lyon, has been going his whole life! I can’t say enough about the blanquette de veau. This is not meant to be the most sophisticated dish at a three star restaurant, but I honestly dream about it sometimes! It is perfect (and quite generous in portion). I have eaten almost everything on the menu (delicious!), and we have brought many, many friends to Le Mercière over the years (many have told us they continue to return for the amazing food). The wines are also a plus. Make sure you secure a reservation, understand that this restaurant dates back to 1890 - so space is tight - and be ready to experience the many delights of traditional Lyonnais food (sometimes with just a little delicious twist - quenelle with spinach, it’s amazing)!! Le filet de bœuf Charolais à la crème et aux morilles with purée de pommes de terre is outstanding. It’s one of the best cuts of beef I’ve had in France. Also, I love the moelleux aux chântaignes and la profiterole is enormous and chocolaty deliciousness.

28/01/2026: The service staff were very attentive and enthusiastic, which is highly commendable! The food, however, was disappointing. We came specifically because of its two Michelin stars, and the €98 lunch set menu wasn't particularly impressive. The foie gras appetizer wasn't as good as another restaurant (which only charges €29 for a set menu). Before dessert, they asked if we wanted cheese. Based on previous experience at other restaurants where cheese is usually included, we agreed without question. However, here cheese costs €40 per person.

09/12/2025: A wonderful experience! The servers and chefs were very friendly! Everything was perfect 😀 We had the gnocchi with mushrooms and parmesan, and the beef tartare with foie gras—both excellent! We'll definitely be back.

08/12/2025: Excellent food and impeccable service. We started with delicious foie gras and continued with duck and free-range chicken, both cooked to perfection. The waiter recommended an excellent wine and took care of us with great professionalism, always making us feel at ease. During dinner, both the owner and the chef stopped by our table to ensure everything was to our liking: a truly rare and appreciated level of customer service. At the end of the meal, the complimentary liqueurs offered by the owner were the icing on the cake. This place is definitely worth a visit: we will gladly return.

28/11/2025: My favorite restaurant in Lyon for years: sophisticated cuisine, always with just the right amount of boldness. They often have game, but also more classic dishes, and they're very welcoming to vegetarians if you let them know in advance. The service is impeccable, attentive, and discreet, and the setting is lovely: hardwood floors, a French-style ceiling, and plenty of space. A hearing-impaired member of our group actually had a great evening at a restaurant there for once!
