My nose recoiled in self-defense, and I should have taken the hint to flee immediately. The cheese itself, if one could still call it that, had the consistency of coagulated sludge. It clung to the bread cubes like a death grip, refusing to let go as if it too wished to escape its grim fate. Each bite was a struggle against this viscous monstrosity, the cheese stretching in grotesque, sinewy strings that snapped back with the vigor of a malicious spirit. 07/06/2024: Back in December, I made the grave mistake of dining at La Joyeuse Fondue, a name that couldn’t be more misleading. Here I am, months later, still reeling from the horrendous experience. This place left such a bad taste in my mouth that I feel compelled to warn others about the culinary catastrophe that awaits them. From the moment I stepped inside, I was assaulted by a nauseating stench. Imagine the scent of old gym socks mixed with sour milk and despair. It was so overpowering that it nearly drove me back out the door, but my hope for a warm, comforting fondue experience convinced me to stay. Big mistake. The fondue, if you can even call it that, was a disgrace. It was watery, a bizarre neon yellow, and tasted like a blend of melted plastic and disappointment. The consistency was atrocious – instead of clinging to the bread, it ran off like water, leaving me with soggy, flavorless bites. It looked like someone had mixed school glue with yellow food coloring and decided to serve it as fondue. The taste was just as bad as the appearance. Bland, rubbery, and utterly devoid of any cheesy goodness, it was like eating a bad science experiment. Each bite was worse than the last, and it took every ounce of willpower to continue eating, hoping it might get better. Spoiler: it didn’t. The service was equally atrocious. Avoid this place like the plague – your taste buds and your sense of smell will thank you.

13/05/2024: Very nice restaurant with good food! Friendly service and some surprising things on the menu. Different than most restaurants at that altitude. Poke Bowl, well-filled salads…. Very tasty! Lovely terrace, full glass of rosé, great!

26/08/2024: Top vacation with 2 children. Apartment very well located. However, I cook a lot and found the kitchen poorly laid out and poorly equipped. Especially given the size of the apartment and if we are organizing a dinner with friends. In addition, the terrace, which is great, unfortunately has a table smaller than the dryer and despite 4 chairs, we will not be able to dine on it for 4 people. But otherwise the team at reception is great and very responsive, the apartment is close to the central square of Arcs 1800. Only the coast will require breathing to get back. Great indoor pool, great SPA service.

24/08/2024: Very warm welcome and a stay that met our expectations. The swimming pool and waking up with the view of the Mont Blanc massif amazed young and old. To do again!

11/09/2024: I like this place because I only drink tea and there's some good ones there!!! 'fine to my taste... even if I destabilized the nice waiter a little with my request for brewed at room temperature ;-) We like to have breakfast when we arrive, a few snack drinks or aperitifs in this central location.

18/08/2024: Prime terrace to drink a cup of coffee in the sun or eat a simple Crepe.

02/04/2024: After coming to this ski area for 4 years, we moved to this location yesterday. They are just friendly here, the service is much faster than across the street, both for drinks and food. You get a nice portion of fries here. The only pity is that today at 3 pm only fries or croques could be ordered from the dishes. But we also enjoyed that. We will go to this room every time from now on! Definitely recommended!

02/04/2024: Fast and correct service with good handling. Large portions of fries and tasty croque messieurs. It is advisable to be quick to order food, because in the afternoon the terrace fills up and the food quickly runs out.

02/09/2024: We ordered two prime ribs and a lamb shank for the three of us. The lamb shank was rated excellent by my friend, but the beef ribs… They were very tender, it's true, but totally lacking in flavor. In fact, the meat near the bone even had an unpleasant taste. My friend and I noticed the same faults, despite our beef rib habit. I fear that the meat has not been properly preserved, or even that it is slightly spoiled. We both had bad stomach aches right after the meal. I'm also disappointed with the sauces: the pepper sauce had shallots and onions, which was unexpected, and both sauces were way too watery. Otherwise the staff creates a very good atmosphere in the restaurant, with a very warm decoration. Too bad just for the meal.

17/12/2024: Their menu is not up to date, on this one there are cocktails with alcohol. So I order an alcoholic cocktail and the waitress brings me another one. So I tell her that it's not the one ordered, and then she tells me "they don't have the license to sell alcohol" Pre-warning can be nice too.

14/12/2024: Good evening, We have come several times in the past, we had excellent memories of it, the restaurant is always full, great food and very friendly waiters! This evening the waiter is pleasant but the quality of the food is very very poor and the restaurant is not very busy, which says a lot... Disappointed by our move to Zinc, you have just lost customers and gained future bad publicity!

27/04/2024: Very warm welcome, the dishes are good (chicken tartiflette and burger). The prices are those of a mountain restaurant. The view is nice and the little extra is the retractable veranda where you can eat under cover.

Reason given: "the boss said that we are closing today because there was a storm yesterday. No information on the site or on the messaging service we called before leaving. We go back down on an empty stomach... I'm hungry...

La ragazza che ci ha serviti ha avuto un atteggiamento equivoco e provocante con la persona che mi accompagnava, provandoci e ridendo esageratamente. Assolutamente non professionale. Io non ci metterò più piede. Per gli incontri e i flirt si aspetta la fine del lavoro. Non si fa la scema con i clienti del locale. Assolutamente fuori luogo. Alla ragazza consiglio l' utilizzo di Tinder!
