03/11/2024: Great welcome from booking to departure. The room was very pleasant and clean (small downside for the shower door which was difficult to position so as not to flood the bathroom). The meal at the restaurant was delicious and our host attentive. Breakfast well explained by the super nice and helpful person in the morning. There was everything you need (special mention to the squeezed orange juice). Thank you again for your welcome and your kindness.

03/11/2024: We had a delicious lunch. Very impressive that Chef does it all— greeting, taking orders, serving, and clearing. We had the four-course menu and loved every bite. Unfortunately, we will not return. When I booked our reservation, I mentioned I could not eat gluten. When we arrived and read the menu in French and English, it stated to share allergies/food intolerances, the chef also asked us. Each time I repeated that I cannot eat gluten and he said no problem. I confidently ate everything, including the delicious grain that "wasn’t risotto but was like risotto"….. It turns out it was spelt. In the US, spelt is not gf. The local variety he served is considered "nearly" gluten-free (“a very old variety in Villars that is .001% gluten”). Well, his decision to determine how much gluten I could safely consume was not a good one, it was too much for me. Celiacs and others with gluten intolerance, be warned.

25/08/2024: Big big disappointment! Despite an exceptional steak tartare... served with reheated, shriveled and hard fries... A very mediocre charcuterie board to share... 4 slices of sausage, 8 slices of rolled breast, 2 slices of raw ham... and lots of pickles!!! No salad, no cherry tomatoes seen in a photo, no pâté... and to top it off, slices of stale bread that seemed to have been taken from one table to another... ending up on ours ! An eggplant and goat cheese puff pastry that was too iced, which prevented me from finding any flavor in it... It was our 4th visit, the previous ones having been very convincing... It would have been the last! Too bad, because the site is attractive, despite the fact that the restaurant is located in an artisanal area!

12/08/2024: I stopped to sleep in town, and the tenants recommended this restaurant to me. And the truth is that the food and service were very good. Of course, if you come from Spain as is my case, a €32.5 menu is expensive. But the food is very good.

28/09/2024: Very large selection of cakes and macarons of very good quality. There are also always changing seasonal tarts. The service is friendly and patient, as it is difficult to make a decision given the many delicious products. Currently recommended are the apple caramel tart and the brownie ball with pistachios.

Today, rather than describing the sumptuous display of golden pastries, fine chocolates and ice creams with surprising flavors like blueberry or violet, let me tell you about a tiramisu that is as daring as it is refined. Imagine, first of all, a light mascarpone cream, soft as a caress, neither too sweet nor too strong. Each spoonful plunges into a fragrant cloud, subtly “punched” (I have always loved this culinary term ☺️) of a coffee syrup with deep aromas, flirting with the intoxicating notes of alcohol, without one or the The other never dominates, like a discreet whisper. Between the 1920s style cabaret, the late 19th century Eiffel ball-style construction and musical, festive, popular or creative creations, we find entertainment and high standards in this place. For this 3rd time in this theater, we saw Carolina's cabaret, very good!
