10/01/2026: A very, very bad experience. I loved this pub for several years, and the previous management. But since the change, nothing has gone right. The servers are unfriendly, the wait is very long, and the patio isn't even open. I won't be going back, which is a shame.

Lume is a unique place, timeless, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city and everyday life… We were regulars when we lived in Bordeaux, and we love coming back to eat there whenever we spend the weekend! It's a restaurant where the cuisine and service are perfectly in sync, creating a seamless experience that borders on perfection! We always eat there wonderfully; the portions are just right, balanced, and the dishes tell a real story. It's refined and intelligent cuisine. The service is gentle and warm. Everything is there for an extraordinary evening. Since we both work in the restaurant industry and love Michelin-starred restaurants, Lume remains undeniably one of our favorites! The wine list is precise, extensive, and reflects the soul of this restaurant and its owners. We let Alice guide us and are never disappointed! His food and wine pairings are also perfectly balanced! As for the tasting menu, it's definitely worth the trip! It reflects a genuine love for quality ingredients, for quality dishes, and for doing things well… and pays tribute to the Italian and regional producers he works with. If you think you like Italian cuisine, Riccardo's cooking will make you appreciate it even more! It's a true discovery of his native region. From the amuse-bouches to the dessert, including the savory courses, everything is delicious and authentic. We will definitely be back!

18/02/2026: A quality steakhouse in the heart of the Chartrons district. The service was impeccable. A kind, attentive, and smiling waitress. We were served very quickly. The meat was perfectly cooked, accompanied by a bowl of fries and salad. Some of our orders even had an excellent sauce on the side. But to be honest, the prices are still quite inflated, at least for the meat dishes. You're clearly paying for the location, which is on the famous square, but the food itself isn't worth it. There are plenty of vegetarian options, along with the standard brasserie dishes.

16/06/2025: A QUITE INCREDIBLE RESTAURANT I've been going here for years. The setting is superb. The terrace is fantastic. The cuisine is bistro-style. The food is VERY good, for reasonable prices. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who has the opportunity to be in the area. The owner is lovely, accommodating, and attentive to his customers and attention to detail. An experience that won't leave you indifferent. After eating here, you'll become demanding of all the restaurants you go to in the future! Enjoy your meal ;)

06/12/2025: It's a basic pub, nothing mind-blowing. 5 euros a pint. If you smoke and sit outside at night be prepared for a constant stream of people asking for money or cigarettes... sometimes quite aggressively.

18/01/2026: Excellent time there at this famous mussels spot! Mussels were delicious, we all ordered different sauces. Fries were yummy. Only non mussels options are the beef steak or the charcuterie board. Their staff is always friendly and helpful. The manager is even friendlier and make you feel welcome. Couple of wine options, generous pour. Loud environment as you’re within the market, however love this low key ambiance.

04/01/2026: Very disappointed. If you take away the friendly "yay, we're at Les Capucins" vibe, you're left with a waiter who tells you "yeah, the red is good, it's a Côtes du Rhône" when you ask if the Bordeaux is any good, and undercooked mussels with a stingy sauce, cold cream, and cheap, stale bacon bits, even though the menu says you ordered mussels with bacon (oh, and the bacon bits are barely cooked and unpleasant to chew...). In short, okay, we're superficial, we're willing to eat mediocre food as long as we're in a stylish place because we're looking for something symbolic, but there are limits. PS: Oh, and those crooks, when you order a small charcuterie platter, they throw in a slice of bread under the meat to make it look bigger, you know? Like, look how generous the plate is, when in reality there are three slices of cheap rosette sausage and two tiny corniflards. And we can all agree on that, right? ;) PS: And someone needs to tell that little twerp that the most important quality in the dining room isn't smiling at all costs, but empathy, adapting to the customers' emotions, and communicating effectively. Kisses to the cook, he seems like a good guy, sorry Bébou for ordering at 1:30 pm. No sarcasm <3
