26/08/2026: We can't remember ever being in a better restaurant. The setting is exactly what you imagine a truly authentic French bistro to be—the chalkboard on the wall, an incredibly warm atmosphere, no snobbery, just genuine soul. And now, a compliment from one chef to another: it's exactly like that scene in the movie "Burnt," when the cook calmly replies, "I know," when told his dish is fantastic. I KNOW you know how amazing your cooking is! But between colleagues, I still had to tip my hat to you. On your beef kefta, I might have had a little more fun with mint, oregano, and a pinch of salt and pepper... 😉 But your ponzu-style marinated pork tenderloin? Absolutely KILLER, it was a total knockout! Pure expertise, a playful approach to flavors, and complete mastery, from small plates meant for sharing to Loire wines. Thank you for this incredible experience. Huge respect and hats off to the artist!

26/08/2026: We shared three main dishes, a local bottle of wine and dessert and everything was excellent. Good vibes and friendly staff that also spoke English and really went the extra mile to make us have a great evening :) Our highlight in Loire! To book we just dropped by earlier on the same day and our dog was also allowed inside.

19/08/2026: Highly recommended. Very warm welcome. Great concept, well explained. Dishes beautifully presented, delicious, and piping hot. The blend of flavors is surprising and perfectly balanced; the chef has mastered his craft both visually and in terms of taste 👏. The waitstaff is attentive and offers excellent advice (wine pairings). A place to visit at least once; it's worth the detour.

06/08/2026: A great restaurant with affordable prices for a delicious meal. The service was perfect. As a vegetarian, I'm not used to having many choices, but here there were several options available, and the one I chose was delicious and a nice change from what you usually find in other restaurants. In addition, we were able to bring our dog without any problems.

06/08/2026: Beautifully seated next to the castle, they have 1 beer from the local Ale is an Art brewery that I personally love, we had the fish and the butcher cut of the day and they where both great the mead was tender and the fish was nice and buttery, reservation is needed but this was worth it in my opinion 👍🏼

13/08/2026: As a frequent visitor to Limeray in Amboise, I've eaten at this excellent restaurant on many occasions. It's not right at the foot of the castle, but a 5-minute walk away on a small street, with parking nearby. It's a very pleasant surprise 🤩 The food is authentic and delicious, homemade, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. But above all, the food is excellent and reasonably priced! The service is top-notch and always with a smile. I highly recommend it 👏 I come back often and am always happy. 😉

23/08/2026: We had a wonderful evening at the Lion d'Or. Pascale was incredibly kind and kept us pleasantly entertained throughout our meal. The two young waiters were also very friendly, although a little more reserved. As for the food, it was delicious. The chef truly delighted us. I highly recommend this restaurant!

25/08/2026: We would have loved to have dinner at this establishment, but unfortunately we found it closed, even though it was listed as open on all websites. What a shame.

16/08/2026: Truly authentic places, you won't find anything like it anywhere else. The little whips are very original, very good, and served quickly. And the lamb. Confit, cooked for seven hours, was divine; I wanted to go back just for that. A truly beautiful place. Very friendly and truly unique, original staff. I go back every year.

08/08/2026: We went there on a recommendation. Great find! The space is really nice and spacious. The service was impeccable, with smiles and excellent advice. The beers change frequently, and there are lots of nice new things. I got to try a chili beer; it's one of the best and most original craft beer discoveries I've made. All at fair prices. They also have pizzas for lighter appetites. I highly recommend it! 🙌

02/07/2026: Passing through Amboise today, we stopped at this little restaurant. We had a very good meal for a very reasonable price. It was a buffet of starters, main courses, and desserts. The starter buffet was simple but very good (excellent homemade potato salad), no endless menu, just two choices of main courses which guaranteed homemade food, and the same for dessert. In short, exactly what you look for in a restaurant: simple but good! Not to mention the kindness of the lady who greeted and served us, who clearly cared about her guests' well-being! We will gladly return on our next visit.

05/08/2026: Excellent place. Friendly service. Carefully selected local wines and a superb local charcuterie board. If you're passing through Amboise, this is the place to remember for your stay.

23/08/2026: We ate on the terrace and left absolutely delighted. We tried several dishes, and all were excellent. The salmon tartare was very fresh and beautifully presented; the duck breast was perfectly cooked, served with potatoes and a delicious sauce; and the cordon bleu was beautifully presented and especially tasty. We also ordered the children's menu, which included a hamburger, fries, and salad—a simple but well-prepared option. The children's menu includes ice cream. We were also grateful that they had Jupiler 0.0, as I had to drive. Good ingredients, generous and carefully prepared portions, a pleasant atmosphere, and a fantastic location for dining while visiting Amboise. The service was friendly, and the overall experience clearly deserves five stars. A place we would definitely return to and highly recommend.
