17/06/2026: We very much enjoyed this restaurant as a young family. It’s small plates so plan to spend accordingly to get full, but it’s extremely high quality food, great friendly service with strong English speaking ability and games to play for kids while they wait. It was the most expensive family meal we had in the Loire valley but also the best by a long shot! Recommendations: filet mignon de pork with ponzu, Salmon tataki with risotto, Kafta meatballs, assorted cheese plate, and Torikatsu chicken (Japanese style fried chicken). Our boys loved the Torikatsu (we ordered two of them!) and the cheesecake, which was a steal at 6€!

30/06/2026: We had one of our best meals in France tonight. Delicious home style cooking in very pleasant surroundings. There was only one other table occupied but it’s a restaurant slightly tucked away and perhaps there were fewer people in town. That didn’t lessen the enjoyment of our evening. Very friendly service and reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

02/07/2026: Passing through Amboise today, we stopped at this little restaurant. We had a very good meal for a very reasonable price. It was a buffet of starters, main courses, and desserts. The starter buffet was simple but very good (excellent homemade potato salad), no endless menu, just two choices of main courses which guaranteed homemade food, and the same for dessert. In short, exactly what you look for in a restaurant: simple but good! Not to mention the kindness of the lady who greeted and served us, who clearly cared about her guests' well-being! We will gladly return on our next visit.

30/06/2026: A delightful discovery! This crêperie is located in this (inevitably) very touristy area. The location is excellent, a little off the beaten path at the foot of the castle, and, most importantly 😀, the galettes and crêpes are superb! The welcome and service were very warm and quick, with ingredients that seemed to be of high quality. I'll definitely be back.

18/05/2026: After an hour's wait without any explanation, despite several requests, the table behind us, which had just arrived, was served before us and other families who were waiting. We told them we were going to pay for our drinks and leave. We were told they were short-staffed in the kitchen. The manager, without an apology, told us, in an insolent and rude manner, "You should do it yourselves." What a lack of professionalism! A simple "Sorry, we're confused, I'll take care of your table right away..."—six covers, no less—might have made us wait a little longer... oh well! But they won't be seeing us again! Another major negative point: only one parking space for this large establishment, which also boasts a large terrace.

24/06/2026: Excellent beers crafted well by people that love beer. We really enjoyed stopping here and sampling a few of their offerings. Definitely worth a visit!

21/06/2026: So, where to begin... the beers were delicious, HOWEVER, everything else was gone in terms of food. Just a €10 burger with no sides, soggy bun, tasteless meat (I suppose it was frozen). The only alternative was a small bag of plain chips for €2. The bartenders were great, no complaints there at all, quite the opposite.

06/05/2026: A very warm welcome. The staff were responsive and attentive! We had a quick meal with our two children, which was perfect for the rest of our visit. The crêpes and galettes were really delicious (we don't have them in the Landes region, 40). Thank you!

30/05/2026: Warm welcome and pleasant service, excellent value for money for the set lunch menu (starter/main/dessert). The air-conditioned dining room was a real plus.

29/05/2026: A great place for lunch in an air-conditioned room after visiting the castle. Efficient service. The cucumber gazpacho starter was truly excellent!
