If you're lucky, you might even get a cuddle from his dog, who is incredibly charming and affectionate—a real teddy bear with a heart of gold. Thank you for this wonderful experience, which I repeat on every visit to Mende.

25/07/2026: If you want a good meal, go for it! We went to the restaurant for lunch. The waitress was very friendly and kindly agreed to swap the aligot (a cheesy potato dish) that was offered as a side for homemade fries. We're a bit picky about quality, but honestly, these were the best fries we've had in years! They were real potatoes, not frozen! The mushroom sauce that came with the meat was a real treat, and I don't usually like mushrooms! The floating island dessert was also excellent! It was quite busy, but we didn't feel cramped, and it wasn't too noisy.

23/06/2026: Impeccable and very friendly welcome! The rooms are spotless, the breakfast is lovely, and the surroundings are charming! I was there for a business trip and I can't wait to come back for a holiday! I give it five stars!

26/05/2026: A fantastic stop on the GR65. A very warm welcome. Excellent meals. Breakfast was also very good, but served a little late compared to other guesthouses (7:30 am). Fellow hikers: don't carry extra water between Aumont and Nasbinals! There are plenty of drinking water fountains along the way!

19/05/2026: Superb hotel! The location is magnificent, surrounded by forests. The hotel and rooms are beautifully decorated. The couple who own the establishment are lovely, and the husband even gave us excellent advice for hiking on the GR65. Dinner and breakfast are excellent—ah, the homemade aligot! I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

05/08/2026: Stunning view. Accessible by canoe from the gorge. Generous, delicious dishes prepared with quality ingredients. Little traffic. On-site parking. We had a lovely time.

01/08/2026: Excellent welcome. Very good food. We were lucky enough to go when there was an accordion concert scheduled. A lovely, friendly atmosphere with the other customers. We highly recommend it!

25/09/2026: A wonderful discovery on this day in September 2026. The service was top-notch, with excellent advice. The meat was superb, the chef was fantastic, and the music was great too. The value for money was also excellent: €20 per person for a main course, drinks, and coffee.

12/09/2026: Dinner on the terrace in a lovely setting, delicious and original cuisine, and to top it all off, a very attentive waitress. It was perfect, thank you.

16/08/2026: We arrived one evening at 9:30 PM. The establishment closed at 10:00 PM. We asked for two burgers. We were told they were finished serving at that time.

15/08/2026: The best pizzeria in Mende! The pizzas are very well topped, the dough is delicious! I particularly recommend the "Rise" (goat cheese/walnut/honey).

07/08/2026: A lovely spot, shaded terrace, quality dishes, local produce, all in a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere. Efficient service. The Belgian fries are excellent. Yes, the owner is of Belgian origin and super friendly.

06/08/2026: Food: Avoid at all costs!!! The service: We weren't even seated before they told us it was going to be a long wait! And it was! 25 minutes before they took our order… then another 25 minutes before we got our starter. The order: They didn't have what we wanted! You settled for what was left, and it wasn't good at all! Bagged salad, chicken nuggets, pre-made sauce—that's the Caesar salad for you! The cook was constantly going in and out of the kitchen to help the servers: no chef's hat… in short, hygiene needs serious improvement! The servers, who were otherwise friendly, were doing what they could in this organized chaos. Moral of the story: The restaurant business is serious business and shouldn't be improvised… here it's the complete opposite, and that's a real shame!
