28/09/2024: Attentive and discreet service, reserved table to be a little quiet, it was perfect. Board to share ideal as an aperitif and the mussels were delicious. A good time.
28/09/2024: I am modifying my opinion which I had posted more than a year ago, I went back and frankly I was pleasantly surprised by the improvement, the opinions were taken into account, I ate very well quality and homemade product we did not wait long and I also left a small tip to the waiter for his professionalism. Frankly it's very good on all points given that I am very satisfied I will return there without hesitation.

01/09/2024: The welcome is super friendly and the service is fast and efficient. We had a very pleasant time. Their fries are delicious because in Valenciennes it is difficult to find fresh fries! But recently the alcohol has been diluted strangely with ice cubes, there are no small profits...

31/12/2025: Disappointed with our last order, it was impossible to eat the hamburger properly because the bun crumbled and fell apart, not at all pleasant or practical to eat... frozen bun???
30/12/2025: Today I came with friends from Orléans, so I wasn't familiar with the concept at all. I arrived two minutes before closing time, and the manager took the time to advise us and let us taste the sauces. A pleasant and passionate restaurateur, the kind you rarely see anymore. What's more, the food was excellent. I highly recommend it!

26/02/2025: your explanations for your closure are more than risky you know very well that the covid crisis plus the economic crisis plus the transformation of the Place d'Arme into a pedestrian zone which caused the surrounding businesses to lose 40% of their customers plus the closure of the Passage des Flanders on December 3 completed the disaster in just 3 months 10 license 4 establishments (bars bistros restaurants) closed for bankruptcy! in Valenciennes you are the 10th and everyone noted this so as not to incriminate the municipal team when it is the turn of the SET I wonder how you will react! note: responding to a dissatisfied customer the day before the permanent closure of the establishment that you are going to improve the table service is at the highest level!

20/11/2025: I went to this place to film my new video. The staff was very pleasant, the place was very nice, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I recommend it if you're feeling peckish.
25/10/2025: Respectful welcome, unfortunately hygiene is not up to scratch: old chemical meat, lots of charred meat crust, tired fries, dirty toilet. Big health risk if hygiene is not strictly applied. A big spit of chemical meat from the day before was lying on the tap near the counter (to collect the meat?). Disgusting. It's smoking in front of the entrance, it's scary. People watch Indo-Pakistani films without stressing about cleaning. Hygiene needs to be fixed quickly. Very dirty snack bar. Too much neglect. Smell. Danger.... The bins are full to bursting, it's overflowing but it's not emptied... Dangerous...

01/02/2026: Far too expensive for what it is.
The sauna was out of order, and the restaurant menu wasn't to my liking. We weren't even allowed to choose our meal time. I had requested 8 pm (even confirmed by email), but this was refused at check-in under the pretext that the restaurant was "full," even though there were still plenty of tables available.
We booked a duplex suite with a view, but the "view" was of the entrance roof.
A room above the bar is absolutely not recommended either.
The music is so loud that it feels more like a nightclub than a hotel.
No, I won't be going back. There are much better hotels, for far less money.
30/01/2026: The spa at the Royal Hainaut is magnificent, with only one drawback, and this is the second time I've experienced it: the hammam was out of order. It's a shame because it's included in the "spa package." There's also a lack of supervision. Let me explain: several people were taking photos and videos in the pool, including other guests... it's disrespectful. You're not responsible (hence my 5 stars), but it does infringe on everyone's privacy. As for the treatment itself, it was simply perfect. I had Ninon. Attentive to well-being, kind, and very professional, I highly recommend her.

28/11/2025: Don't order delivery; they take advantage of the fact that you can't see to put in less filling.
04/11/2025: Huge disappointment! I ordered two pizzas today, a Margherita and an Oceana, and I clearly stated that I would pick them up at 7 pm. I found pizzas that had been cooked for at least half an hour, so they were cold. I got home to give them to my children, and they didn't even eat them as usual because the pizzas were so cold. A real disappointment; I don't know what's going on at Domino's Vals.

04/08/2024: Following my one-year review I am modifying following our return for a third time. Disappointed, the quality of the prime rib, very nervous and on cooking, very friendly waitress, but another less desire to work without smiling, perhaps less paid?!!
We order our dishes and after an hour a disaster. Omissions on our dish, instead of new potatoes, fries, and others... and a little digression on the Irish gourmand at 15 euros, I didn't expect so little... However, I was super excited I recommended this quality restaurant for meat to my parents-in-law but...
What's happening? In a year's time the card changed, of mediocre quality, without being mistaken when I see the reviews from last week or these last months. Have you changed cooks? Servers?
I'm still waiting for a response, I'm supposed to invite a couple of friends for meat, real meat with real cooking. Or not...

10/09/2024: It is a place full of charm and very well decorated, the staff is smiling and warm.
The R room that we booked is very pretty despite the bathroom being a little small and with problems with the taps... but this is completely normal given the historic location.
The mattress is a little uncomfortable but above all there is a big problem with soundproofing, however the place is magical and for 4 days it suited us.
The catering is of high quality and the dishes are presented in beautiful crockery and the place is always just as magical too. Very happy with our stay.
22/08/2024: The service is very attentive and the food is really good, duck breast with these little vegetables and a puree, followed by a waffle for dessert with whipped chocolate compote... a treat
The terrace is magnificent, you feel in a hidden cocoon

21/08/2024: Je ne mets pas souvent 5/5 mais je n'ai rien à redire...
Restaurant pas à la portée de toutes les bourses mais une régalade du début à la fin.
Ambiance tamisée agréable, personnel au top, patron très sympathique, entrées, plats, desserts excellents pour une moyenne de 70€ par personne, nous avons passé un très bon moment.
A refaire.
