Were only three dishes on the menu but each one delicious. The puddings were worth repeating too… The atmosphere is nice and welcoming and our host was a champion. Definitely worth a trip!
13/03/2026: I ate mafé here about ten years ago, and I've had a few others since then, all over France and other European countries, including one today that just reminded me and confirmed that the best I've ever had was at Baï's... Thanks again, I hope to have the opportunity to come back...

They make it very clear that they're not fans of children, not even a sleeping baby in a stroller, in their establishment.
So much so that they try to make you believe they're fully booked when they're not.
So my "boycott" won't bankrupt them, but I certainly won't be giving them good publicity!
15/02/2026: You can be sure the Basques know how to welcome guests! At Bistrot le Guernika, you're greeted with a warm, welcoming accent. The smiling staff takes excellent care of you. The dishes are beautiful, generous, and above all, delicious. The value for money is undeniable. Bistrot le Guernika is well worth a visit; we'll definitely be back.

11/04/2026: You can have lunch here. I mean, in France, the kitchen is open right in the middle of the day. I'm shocked. I mean, at 3 PM, you can just walk in and eat a hot meal. In France! The food itself is also excellent, the prices are reasonable. I recommend it!

We stopped in for lunch by chance while in Bayonne, and not only did we get a decent meal (in France, the kitchen is often closed after 2 PM), but we also had a fantastic meal! I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it. The hake fillet with vegetables in garlic sauce was simply delicious!

17/02/2026: The welcome from the manager (in theory) was excellent, with smiles and pleasant words right from the start. The service team was just as welcoming! The food was plentiful and delicious. The starter, a perfect egg on a bed of mushrooms and chicken, was wonderful. We continued with baby squid with crispy belly and new potatoes—a real treat! No dessert, although they looked delicious! The relaxed atmosphere, both among the staff and the customers, is a big plus!
