04/06/2026: Okay, but nothing special. Very slow service. Expensive and not a great atmosphere.

04/06/2026: We came to the Basque Country for our honeymoon, as it's where we got engaged. We arrived late in Saint-Jean-de-Luz and went to the first place we saw. We know it's almost impossible to find a bad place to eat in this region anyway. However, we didn't expect this place to completely exceed our expectations. The staff was warm and welcoming from arrival to departure. We ordered a starter and a main course, but we couldn't resist their desserts. Every bite was perfect. The next day, we couldn't stop thinking about Bar Basque. We returned the following night. We were greeted a second time by the staff and then tried the other dishes they had on offer. Again, the food was incredible. I think it might be the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience first-class hospitality and delicious food. Thank you all for being part of our honeymoon. We'll be back!

17/08/2026: The crepes are delicious and nice and crispy, and the staff are always lovely.

15/08/2026: Very good, the classic savory crepes are well-made, the galette is crispy. However, I only note that the sweet crepes are a bit pricey considering the filling. But otherwise, I recommend it.

02/09/2026: We ordered tartar was good, octopus chipiron was good but monkfish was with bad spoiled smell ( two of us order it, and both of us felt it was not good). We told the lady who was the manager there... she refused to listen And asked to pay in full. Very strange approach, we were very nice to her and paid in full. Unfortunately this was our worst experience for all our stay in France

25/08/2026: The value for money is poor: it's expensive. They charge €4.50 for a Coke and €2.40 for an iced coffee, which I couldn't even drink because it was so bad (they put the ice in the cup and poured the hot coffee straight from the machine). What they call sangria is nothing like it; it's a pitcher of cheap wine with ice, and they charge €14 for half a liter. The wait was excessive, and the service was generally very unfriendly. One waiter seemed like he was owed money and hadn't been paid. He was rude and unpleasant to one of my children who was simply sitting at a table waiting. However, to be fair, I want to mention one woman who was the only pleasant and attentive person we had. Not recommended at all.

04/09/2026: A HISTORIC moment for me. I came here just after finishing the Pyrenees Crossing... for lunch, and then I also ate a crocmonsieur. How lovely...

31/08/2026: For both the quality of the food and the friendliness of the servers, I 100% recommend this restaurant, which manages to remain simple and authentic!

04/09/2026: This place was extremely overrated. It was the worst service we have received in all of Europe. Would not recommend it if was the only restaurant in town.

03/09/2026: I chose this restaurant based on customer reviews, the Petit Futé guide, and photos. I was disappointed because it was far from what I'd heard when I visited. The menu and presentation were completely different from when we went. While the food itself was good, it didn't live up to the ratings in the customer reviews and the Petit Futé guide. So, a disappointment, but not bad.

18/08/2026: We decided to take a family trip to San Sebastian for the Semana Grande fireworks. €75 per person. It's a bit of an expense, especially for seven people, but it was worth it. The atmosphere was fantastic, the crew was excellent and helpful, the tapas platter was very good, and drinks were replenished for those who wanted them. The boat wasn't completely full, only about 50 people, so there was plenty of room to move around throughout the evening. We'd gladly do it again! We live in the area.

18/08/2026: We took the Saint-Jean-de-Luz - San Sebastián cruise for Semana Grande. The staff were very friendly, the drinks on board were very pleasant, nothing to complain about, I recommend it.

18/08/2026: I don't recommend the mussels. As for August 2026, I'll spare you the details of why, but it's unpleasant in the middle of vacation. According to a friend, the tuna was cooked on both sides and lacked flavor, apparently. Otherwise, the Basque burger looks very, very good. On the other hand, the service was excellent! Thanks :)

21/08/2026: What a surprise to learn upon arrival (after having booked by phone) that the regular menu wasn't available on cesta punta nights. We had come for a main course, but were forced to order tapas if we didn't want axoa or chipirons. The tapas were served on plates, and we had to make do with the empty dishes. It was 30 minutes later that a waiter came to collect the empty dishes and offered us plates. A bit late. The service was disjointed. We waited an eternity for water, even after asking a waitress who said "I'll be right back" and arrived 10 minutes later. Our neighbors at the next table kindly shared their carafe with us because they saw I was thirsty. The waiters and waitresses were running around but didn't seem to stop anywhere; they weren't professional, and it showed.
