26/09/2026: A good place for a set menu if you don't want to spend a lot of money. We had a starter: ham croquettes or pâté, a main course: pork loin, eggs, ham, potatoes, and peppers, or the daily special, and coffee. 20 euros per person.
The waitress who served us spoke Spanish and was very attentive. Everything was delicious.
16/09/2026: We came for lunch at this establishment. The food is fresh and homemade, the portions are generous, and the welcome from the owners and the waitress on duty that day was excellent. Special mention goes to the crème caramel, which was superb. We recommend this establishment for its welcoming atmosphere and the quality of its food.

30/09/2026: The staff were friendly and excellent, and the service was impeccable. The dishes were beautifully prepared, from the meat jus and octopus to the buttery mashed potatoes and the wines. We went back three times... I highly recommend it... I can't wait to return to St Jean de Luz.
25/09/2026: Highly recommended and deserved it. Seating in the immaculate dining room but near the open air terrace. Friendly welcome, impeccable professional service from English ( and probably other language ) proficient, well knowledgeable waitstaff. The freshest oysters, superbly presented whole baked merlu, scrumptious apple pie, a complete wine list offering an array of local and national ( which means French/Italian/Spanish ) vintages. And a sweet bill, so you don’t have to call your loan officer in New York.

18/08/2026: I don't recommend the mussels.
As for August 2026, I'll spare you the details of why, but it's unpleasant in the middle of vacation.
According to a friend, the tuna was cooked on both sides and lacked flavor, apparently.
Otherwise, the Basque burger looks very, very good.
On the other hand, the service was excellent! Thanks :)

03/11/2026: We came at the end of October, not to the main restaurant, Le Suisse, but to its annex, Le P'tit Suisse. We had a wonderful time. A big thank you also to Romain, our waiter, who took such good care of us, for his professionalism and kindness.
01/11/2026: We had lunch today and opted for the daily special, "John Dory." The service was perfect, and the food was excellent.
A glass of wine, daily special, dessert, and coffee. €42.50 per person! Absolutely perfect.

24/10/2026: Overall, I was disappointed. I made a reservation on the website, but when I arrived, we couldn't find it. No worries, it happens. We ordered an aperitif and specifically asked them to wait a bit before bringing the main course, but no! So it went back to the kitchen. This has happened before... and the food was just as bad: barely lukewarm, and to top it off, the chocolate fondant was rock hard. We mentioned it, and apparently it hadn't been reheated. Was it from the day before? No apology, no pleasant evening. We won't be going back.
09/10/2026: We came for an evening with friends, and the service was going well. However, we were quite disappointed when a group of twenty people entered the cider house, forcing us to wait 20 to 35 minutes to be served and even having to go downstairs to ask for the dessert menu. What can I say? Come in larger groups and you'll be served much faster.

Avoid at all costs.
07/10/2026: €26 set menu. Fish soup barely lukewarm, no croutons or rouille... The dish was good, but it was missing trout and duck breast. The portions were very small! The white wine was at room temperature, so it wasn't great.

Superb, very pleasant campsite. Beautiful unobstructed view from the mobile home. The green spaces are lovely and very well maintained. We've already had a chance to enjoy the pool.
The accommodations are comfortable and modern, and the staff are very friendly!
Looking forward to our next holiday! 🏖🌊🌴

I don't like posting bad reviews and I'm usually a pretty easygoing and understanding customer, but frankly, this is outrageous:
The meat was ordered rare, but it was served way overcooked, practically medium-rare, and the dishes were overly salty and tasteless. Regarding the chipirons, a Basque specialty, we specifically asked them to add garlic, but we couldn't taste it at all.
The only positive point was that the staff was very friendly, but the food is definitely best avoided. There's clearly a problem with the chef's training, and management is allowing this to continue.
I should have read the reviews before going... In short, avoid this place until the chef and management change.
