Restaurant Le Prado
Saint-Jean-De-Luz
20/01/2025: Excellent address. I recommend.
03/01/2025: So disappointed...the daily specials are heated reheated, the monkfish is overcooked and tasteless
The tarte tatin which looks like an apple pie and the dough is soft..

Chez kako
Saint-Jean-De-Luz

Saint-Jean-De-Luz
10/01/2025: Not great! Unlimited cider, of course, but be careful. The final note was salty and yet the dishes were very ordinary: omelette, entrecôte. Dessert couldn’t be simpler. We all came away with the same feeling. We will definitely not return.
03/01/2025: A memorable December 31st!! No heating in the room, all the customers ate with scarves and coats... a piece of glass in my grandson's (4 year old) drink... no dessert offered on the children's menu (for €12 a chopped steak and fries) no atmosphere at least to warm up the customers!!! And a very long service too long especially when we are cold!!!...

Le Majestic
Saint-Jean-De-Luz
07/12/2025: Irish coffee blended, they don't know how to make it, at €12.
An outrageously expensive coffee bill.
A tiny and filthy bathroom for all the customers they have and considering how much they charge.
The crepes are completely cold; they're not made fresh, they're reheated.
30/11/2025: I ordered a Sex on the Beach Virgin and a revisited tiramisu with red berries; it was great, and the waiter was very attentive.

Le Suisse
Saint-Jean-De-Luz
19/09/2024: Pleasant welcome, the service is relatively fast. the place alone is worth the trip.
This part concerns the adjoining Petit Suisse. The tapas are excellent as are the oysters.
17/09/2024: Very good cuisine.
For us, very friendly service from a very professional waiter, and with a lot of humor.

27/08/2024: Poor quality/price ratio. The hygiene of the services left much to be desired. I will not return.
27/08/2024: The friendly waiters
The food is good
For me the worst thing was the service that was not clean
The good desserts

Made In Acotz
Saint-Jean-De-Luz
21/11/2025: The experience began even before we unpacked: the welcome was so unfriendly that we almost missed the old-fashioned administrative offices. They were fifteen minutes late finishing cleaning the mobile home—no apologies, of course, that would be asking too much. The highlight? A clothesline collapsed on the terrace, which could have been put back up before we arrived… but clearly, attention to detail isn't their strong suit. When I had the misfortune to politely ask if the accommodation had been cleaned, I received a classic response: "Ugh, yeah," accompanied by an insolent grimace. Ah, the meaning of service…
The mobile home itself is a masterpiece of minimalism. No kettle, no dishwasher, no toaster, no hangers, no radiator, no sink plug—and that's just the tip of the iceberg. The cupboards creak, the chairs creak, the doors creak… a veritable symphony of decaying woodwork. The cupboards crumble under your fingers, the wooden deck threatens to send you flying with its uneven planks, and a large patch of mold sits proudly in the kitchen, likely evidence of a leak that was never repaired.
As for the atmosphere, well, let's just say we're in for a treat: spiders, numerous and comfortably settled, accompanied us from the very first night. Granted, we're in the middle of nature, but a little maintenance would have prevented the interior from resembling an entomological laboratory. The result: a hasty purchase of repellent, since we couldn't find the "thorough cleaning" option in the rental agreement.
And the swimming pool? Let's talk about it: described as a "water park," it would be laughable if it weren't so pathetic. Too small, freezing cold despite the promise of a heated pool, and accessible via a dizzying slope completely impassable for children, seniors, or anyone with reduced mobility. One can already imagine the brochures: "Guaranteed thrills... just getting there!" And then there's the challenge of finding a parking space, because yes, it's best to take the car to tackle this perilous journey.
The beach, advertised as 650 meters away? Technically, that's true. In practice, it's a dangerous crossing, without a sidewalk, on a narrow road where you risk your life with every step. An ideal walk for thrill-seekers... and adrenaline junkies.
As for connectivity, even the Wi-Fi seems to have given up: only one connection per mobile home, just to test family solidarity in all its glory.
The most ironic thing about all this? The famous "4 stars" proudly displayed. Perhaps they only shine in the managers' imaginations, but on the ground, it's hard to see even a single one.
In short: this campsite has at least one redeeming quality—it makes you want to escape to the surrounding area, which is truly magnificent. We were supposed to stay a week, but the temptation to cut our trip short was too strong: we left three days early, grinning from ear to ear at the mere thought of finding real comfort elsewhere.
If you're still hesitating: run, run fast, and thank me later.

La Grange a Pains
Saint-Jean-De-Luz
11/11/2025: I received a very warm welcome from a charming, smiling saleswoman with a Canadian accent.
The raisin bread is delicious, and their Basque beret cake is amazing.
Their baguette (the festive kind?) is of very good quality.
I'm surprised by the other reviews...
12/10/2025: Excellent croissants 🥐 and loaves of bread 🥖. It's one of the two bakeries we frequent when we visit Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The stock sells out fast from early morning, and from midday onward, it's hard to find anything but a regular baguette. The same goes for the pastries.

Le Patio
Saint-Jean-De-Luz
21/10/2025: A restaurant that far exceeds its ratings. While passing through Saint-Jean-de-Luz, we came across this restaurant even though it hadn't been recommended to us. The friendliness, the owner's wine recommendations, and the quality of the cod were all excellent.
28/09/2025: Avoid!!! Tourist trap
Sangria diluted with water!
Menu not worthy of a restaurant, a so-called paella served in a casserole dish, undercooked risotto, no saffron, no chorizo, no shrimp, a disgrace!!!
Fried smelts, no accompanying sauce, Iberian charcuterie, not even butter!!! Nothing!!
Long wait between the starter and the main course!!!

Restaurant Bodega La Plancha
Saint-Jean-De-Luz
30/11/2024: A fuir absolument
Assiette de jambon immangeable car trop salé,
paella fade, riz horrible, on se demande ce que l’on mange,
Riz au lait fait depuis quand?
Restaurant salé,
Seul le pain est mangeable
Propreté absente et hygiène déplorable
02/11/2024: Attention
Les 3 restaurants sont à la même personne
La vieille auberge
L’assiette basque
La bodega la plancha
Donc même cuisine
J’étais déjà venu l’année passée à la vieille auberge

Le Portua
Saint-Jean-De-Luz
03/09/2024: When you have a memorable experience in a bad way like this, you take the time to write it down, because neither French nor Spanish should have to endure this restaurant. RUN AWAY.
- 3 bitter old managers behind the bar have only one ability: to shout at the young waitresses who arrive crying at our tables, without a manager to help them manage a 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. service.
- Direct impact of their lack of organization: 30 minutes to get bread (!) 1h30 wait to get the main course (!!), tables tired of waiting everywhere, and managers who stir up even more air because they drown in a glass of water.
- In fact, if you made the effort to ignore the wait and the dirty tables, you would think that the kitchen was ok, but unfortunately it was almost cold on arrival, with pieces of glass in the dishes in sauce (!!!)
Hey, managers, what if you reworked your organization? That would be a greater success than making people cry in the workplace.
02/09/2024: The food is bad, oily potatoes fried hours before and reheated, stinky fish, desserts with a bad taste and the smell of a dirty cloth, the girl who served smelled bad. Very high price for poor quality that it serves. Awful

Casita
Saint-Jean-De-Luz
11/11/2025: It's shameful to sell smoothies made with frozen fruit mixed with a glass of water, and churros that are just sticks of oil and dry with no taste!
We should have checked before going.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!
