15/03/2026: I visited this Subway location for the second time. During my first visit, the experience was very positive. I believe the owner may have been present because the staff were welcoming, patient, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. I enjoyed the food and chose to come back because of that experience. Unfortunately, my second visit was completely different. Two staff members were speaking to me at the same time while preparing my sandwich. One employee was asking about the bread and cheese, while another repeatedly interrupted and asked about condiments before the sandwich had even been toasted. Because both of them were speaking over each other, it became confusing and difficult to follow what was happening with my order. I also want to acknowledge that they attempted to speak English, which I appreciate since I am from the United States and still improving my French. However, the way the interaction unfolded felt rushed and disorganized. After I paid, I realized I had forgotten that guacamole is an extra charge. I mentioned it but immediately said it was my mistake and that the sandwich was fine as it was. Later, when I went to use the soda fountain, I had trouble getting the Pepsi to dispense properly. One of the employees came to help, but the way she did so felt condescending rather than helpful. Overall, the experience felt unfriendly and uncomfortable compared to my first visit. I do not expect this location to be exactly like a Subway in Baltimore or elsewhere in the United States. However, Subway is an international franchise, and customers reasonably expect the same basic standard of courtesy and kindness that the brand represents. A simple, respectful interaction from the moment a customer enters until they leave makes a big difference.

08/03/2026: Yesterday around 10:15 PM, while waiting for my takeout order, I witnessed a very unpleasant scene. A tall, white-clad employee in a red shirt spoke very rudely and disrespectfully to a delivery driver. The way he spoke to him was truly inappropriate and gave a bad impression of the service. It's a shame, because this kind of behavior shouldn't happen in an establishment that receives the public.

10/02/2026: I arrived with my colleague at 6:03 PM on a Friday. The bar was practically empty. After walking several kilometers, we decided to sit on the terrace. My colleague ordered a beer. As for me, wanting to stay energized since we still had a long drive ahead of us, I simply ordered a coffee. The waiter, visibly annoyed, curtly explained that he no longer served hot drinks after 6:00 PM (I remind you, it was 6:03 PM). I then asked him if tea would be possible (boiling water and putting in a tea bag didn't seem like an unreasonable request). The waiter stared at me for almost a minute, then replied condescendingly: "So, I'll repeat myself, since you don't seem to have understood: I NO LONGER SERVE HOT DRINKS AFTER 6:00 PM." As a result, I didn't order anything. We decided to laugh it off and leave, but the experience was frankly unpleasant. If you're looking for a welcoming place to have a drink, I strongly advise you to avoid this place. Reading other reviews, I see that this waiter seems to be consistently rude, especially to people he considers "foreigners." And since leaving a review on Google isn't easy, the establishment receives much higher ratings than the welcome and service actually deserve.

13/12/2025: L'Ours Noir is a must-visit at the Rouen Saint-Romain Fair. We've been going there for years; the roast pork platter is very generous, and the service is quick. Perhaps adding chairs for more comfort than the benches would be a plus.

04/03/2026: We ate there on January 1st and the service was terrible. We waited a long time for our appetizers and were served in two separate one-hour waits for our main course, which wasn't even what we ordered. They also brought the wrong wine. I would not recommend this restaurant.

07/02/2026: The first floor is cramped and noisy. This Friday, February 6th, at lunchtime, there were 28 covers despite the posted capacity of 19 (a safety measure?). Cleanliness needs improvement; the cutlery was dirty. The food quality could be better. Aside from the location... a place to avoid.

28/12/2025: Excellent brasserie! Lunch for four as a family. Aperitif with a spritz, a glass of white wine, and two sodas. Two set menus (starter, main course, dessert), with a poached egg with Camembert as a starter. For the main course, chicken casserole with Maroilles cheese and homemade fries, and tarte tatin for dessert. For the children, a burger and a flank steak with homemade fries. All the dishes were delicious. Sanitation is well-maintained, and the food is both tasty and plentiful for a very reasonable price (€99.70). All this with a magnificent view of the Rouen courthouse (absolutely beautiful). Friendly and efficient service. Well done and thank you!

18/01/2026: Outrageous! I found a maggot in my pizza, which I bought last night. This isn't going to go! I went to the "restaurant" today to get an explanation and a refund. The cashier called her manager, who arrived quickly and told me it wasn't possible, that it must have come from my plate, and refused the refund... (Given the manager's profile, I wasn't expecting much more.)

01/11/2025: Ordering and being served half an hour later is honestly shameful for a fast-food restaurant because they actually place small orders before ours, which is not normal. It's the first time we've waited so long for a McDonald's, especially since there was almost no one there.

18/10/2025: Employee found today (the heavyset gentleman or lady) condescending!!! The young woman with him was more friendly. Told me in a curt tone that the upstairs was closed and that the staff didn't come up, as if I knew. Also told me in a condescending tone to go get ketchup at the register when I asked. I think there's a more polite way to say things instead of acting like a diva who has a tough go at customers. Disgusting. Rude. Contemptuous. Tables not clean. Very bad experience!!!

05/02/2026: I was very disappointed by the service, especially at the tobacconist's. Having been a regular customer in the evenings, my experience has unfortunately almost always been negative. Every time I go to the tobacconist, I feel like I'm bothering them when I ask for something: the welcome is cold, the interactions are curt, and I don't feel valued as a customer (sighs when I ask for several things, the impression that I'm annoying them...). I think there must be a different team depending on the time of day, because a woman who worked there one evening was particularly lovely and professional; I sincerely thank her for this welcome, which made all the difference. Unfortunately, I only saw her once. This is regrettable for a local business where customer service should be paramount. After several disappointments, I won't be returning.

01/12/2025: Just thank you, thank you for this Royal kebab, steak perfectly paired with harissa and seven white beers. Everything was perfect, from the service to the end of my meal. I loved it! My friends and I were treated to homemade fries. Excellent! We ate very well and thank you for your exemplary and original service. The chef was very friendly. Thank you! I hope your business never closes!!!
