28/06/2026: No air conditioning🏠, not much choice, and food that looks like it's been sitting in the display case for a long time

21/06/2026: We go there regularly when we are too lazy to cook, it is always a pleasure to dine there, we are always well received, we appreciate their sushi and maki, their meats in sauce.

18/02/2026: The menu was very good, but the portions weren't sufficient (especially the lamb chop; there should have been at least two for the price of the dish). A small comment to the chef, who justified the portion size by saying it was cooked thoroughly (but a raw lamb chop rarely weighs 150g of meat on its own without the bone). Also, there was no "classic" meat dish for those who don't like lamb or red mullet (squab wasn't included in the menu). Scallops are an option if you're not allergic. Ultimately, you're mainly paying for the restaurant's beautiful setting, as we were left wanting more.

17/02/2026: Excellent evening. The welcome, food, and wines were all of very high quality. A real pleasure for this relaxing break. We will gladly return.

19/05/2026: We had a meal today with my son and daughter. We were delighted. The meal was excellent from start to finish. The welcome was warm. The waiter was lovely. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend it. Especially if you're passing through Vézelay, don't hesitate.

28/06/2026: We arrived a bit late that evening due to a last-minute change of plans, and the food, which had clearly been overheated, wasn't great: dry spring rolls, stale sashimi, and the same for sushi. But the worst part was the lack of air conditioning in the middle of a heatwave. We were uncomfortable and cut our evening short. As a result, I barely ate because I was far too hot.

27/06/2026: Hello everyone. Another sweltering day! We wanted to eat somewhere cool at Royale de Chine, as we always do when we decide to eat Asian food. I'm extremely disappointed by their way of hiding the broken air conditioning from customers. It's absolutely awful, especially with this heatwave, all just to make money. It's a disgrace for a restaurant to have no fans or even portable air conditioners—a real ordeal for a family meal! I advise you to ask them if their air conditioning is working before you sit down. That's my advice because it's really not nice of them. P.S.: Keep your drink menus; they might be useful for making a fan.

13/06/2026: This isn't my first time at this restaurant. The service is impeccable, and there wasn't too much of a wait. However, a little smile from the servers would be perfect ☺️☺️ The food is very, very good.

10/06/2026: I come to Auxerre quite often for work. I wanted to try an Italian restaurant because I was craving pizza. I was very disappointed. I found the pizza bland, with what was called mozzarella cheese, but it tasted more like plastic than anything else. Even the burrata was of very average quality. I think the owner is trying to cut corners on ingredients to maintain a higher profit margin. That's his choice... it won't be mine anymore.

05/07/2026: We were just passing through and the food was absolutely fantastic; we had a wonderful meal. It's just a shame the service was a bit cold. But overall, go for it, you won't be disappointed.

05/07/2026: We hadn't booked and were very warmly welcomed. Traditional cuisine with some delightful surprises. The snails were excellent, and the Italian-style beef tartare was a pleasant surprise. The short rib was very tender, and the menu was more than reasonably priced. A great find, definitely worth remembering.

19/02/2026: It's not just the shutters that are old; the dining room, kitchen, and toilets are too. It's like stepping back in time to the 1950s. We were a group of ten, completely alone in the room. If we hadn't come, there would have been zero customers. It was a Sunday lunchtime. The crepes are simple and tasty, but they arrive in dribs and drabs. And to top it all off, the bill was impossible to decipher, requiring us to pay for about twenty crepes or ice cream. We had to pay for an extra crepe to speed up the process. The staff were very nice, but I think they should find another line of work.
