19/03/2026: 5*? No way! We booked a room in the 5-star hotel through Booking.com. We ended up in the family home, which smelled musty and had warped walls. The staff couldn't even tell us how to close the blinds for the night. We ate at the bistro, a ribeye steak for €84 for two people!!!! It must have weighed 500g max, and the only side dish was a tiny casserole of truffle mashed potatoes. Not a single vegetable! The meat was good, but at that price: thankfully! The waitress was completely rude and pushy. We went to the spa, but there was no one to greet us... On the plus side, though: a divine massage given by a very classy and talented woman!

25/11/2025: All the bakery products are truly excellent: Swiss bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, they are the best in the region by far! Their baguettes are also excellent and very crispy.

27/03/2026: I was very disappointed with my visit to McDonald's Auxerre last night for two meals. The manager was very rude and unprofessional when I tried to explain the situation. Such a lack of respect is unacceptable for a company like yours. [Edit: Thank you for your response, but you are completely missing the point. This isn't just a matter of "feelings" or courtesy: I paid for two Mario Galaxy items, only receiving one out of two.] Your manager refused to correct this factual error despite the evidence I provided at the time. Acknowledging my message is one thing, but refunding me for a product that was charged but not served is quite another. I am still waiting for a concrete solution to this loss.

15/12/2025: This Léon de Bruxelles in the northern part of Auxerre is typical of the chain: you go there without any surprises, but you know you'll get a decent meal. The menu is, of course, focused on seafood, but offers a few options if you don't like fish. I tried the Léon Casserole, which was good, although the amount of fish was a bit small and probably frozen. Be careful with the garnish: although it says sweet potatoes, it's mostly potatoes (about 80%). The paella was okay, but it's more of a French-style paella, nothing exceptional, and the rice used isn't ideal for this dish. Note that the drinks are quite expensive. Overall: It's a reliable restaurant for a quick meal if you're not looking for anything original. A decent choice.

14/03/2026: A place not to be missed! I've been to Dame Jeanne restaurant twice now. We've always received a warm welcome, and the staff is very friendly. The dishes are delicious and high-quality, both in terms of ingredients and presentation. There's a good selection of teas and infusions, which is lovely at the end of a meal, and you can also buy them, especially those from Palais des Thés. The cuisine is expertly prepared and well-balanced from appetizers to desserts, especially the chocolate tart! 👌 Thank you again! 👍

12/02/2026: Kudos to this restaurant tucked away on a side street outside the center of Sens! There were three of us, on a Thursday evening during the week, and we were served quickly. We ordered three different pizzas, and all three of us agreed they were excellent and very generously topped! The service was provided by very friendly and smiling staff. I highly recommend it and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

18/01/2026: A warm welcome from our hostesses after a short stay. The room is comfortable and quiet with a courtyard view. The breakfast was plentiful. There is a wardrobe but no shelves for storing clothes. This should be considered when it is replaced. E.S.

15/12/2025: Passing through in December, we had a lovely walk in Vézelay. We weren't bothered by mass tourism at all, which was perfect. We ate at the only restaurant open, and we weren't disappointed at all. We had veal paupiettes with tagliatelle and an excellent sauce, all homemade. And of course, an equally excellent dessert. The young woman who served us was very friendly and welcoming. The service was very quick. Stop by if you enjoy authentic and wholesome cuisine. Thank you!
