12/07/2026: - Great restaurant, simple, efficient, and well-run. - Several set menus are offered, daily specials and others; we tried both, and both were excellent, no complaints. - The only issue is that unfortunately, many people don't turn off their phones, resulting in ringing and calls during lunchtime. It's a shame, but I'm not taking that into account in my rating. - Well located and parking is easily accessible. - I recommend it.

02/11/2025: To celebrate my mother's 96th birthday, we decided to go to La Chaumière in Villeneuve-sur-Allier. And there, what a surprise! We were greeted by the owner, smiling and charming, in her warm, country-style restaurant. Right away, even before sitting down, we already felt a bit at home! We ordered our set menu (€12) and soon after, a starter arrived: beautifully presented beef carpaccio, followed by a piece of chicken on a bed of cabbage, accompanied by mushrooms and potatoes—all absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and just the right amount of spice…and a dessert of rice pudding (just like in the old days). We thought to ourselves, it's impossible to get such a meal for that price! We chatted a lot with our hostess, Sophie. She and her husband, both originally from Belgium, took over this hotel-restaurant a year ago. For us, it was a real success... We truly felt Sophie's dedication to doing everything to satisfy her customers; we were pampered, even receiving a gift for Mom's birthday! We certainly won't wait for another birthday to return to La Chaumière and encourage all readers of this message to do the same. A must-visit. Thank you, Sophie.

09/10/2025: This charming cottage with its authentic character is a must-see. The owners are exceptionally kind and welcoming. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. Breakfast is superb. A wonderful discovery. Easily accessible. Vehicle parking available.

03/08/2026: A very pleasant surprise! We chose this hotel somewhat by chance, as our usual 4 or 5-star establishments were fully booked, and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is ideally located right in the heart of Vichy. The staff is very professional, friendly, and attentive. A big thank you to the receptionist, who was lovely both on the phone and upon our arrival, as well as to the manager, who was very honest, spontaneous, and welcoming. The only slight drawback is the soundproofing of the room, which could be better. But for the price, the room was perfectly adequate, and the value for money is excellent. We highly recommend it!

26/07/2026: We were very disappointed. We reserved a table for seven and ordered aperitifs to enjoy a pleasant time together. To our surprise, instead of serving the aperitifs, they brought our main courses. So we drank the aperitifs while we ate. Furthermore, we ordered wine, and it arrived already opened. They don't open the bottles in front of you.

22/02/2026: A private birthday party: excellent reception, staff always pleasant and smiling, and able to do things simply and efficiently. Thirty people, all satisfied with the welcome, the service, and the food. I sincerely recommend this establishment!

26/07/2026: Extremely disappointed!! The first time I came with friends, everything was perfect. But the second time!! We hadn't even finished our aperitif before the waitress brought the starter (chorizo ​​cake), which was very dry. It's a shame for the chef because the rest of the menu was excellent. We had to eat quickly, perhaps because the waitress wanted to get home fast? I don't think I'll be going back.

28/06/2026: This is my second time at this restaurant, and it's always a delight. The gentleman greets us with great kindness. The value for money is exceptional, with spring rolls (and other fried appetizers) far superior to those in other restaurants I've been to. A tip: choose one of the specialties; the gentleman who serves you might then explain how to eat your dish (cutting, mixing, sauce). I really appreciate his advice because I can tell he genuinely wants to share his culture. A joy!
