16/04/2026: I'm happy with my experience at Patapain Saint-Jean, with its varied and fresh products and fast service. The team is welcoming, especially the lady whose name I think is Chloé.

02/11/2025: To celebrate my mother's 96th birthday, we decided to go to La Chaumière in Villeneuve-sur-Allier. And there, what a surprise! We were greeted by the owner, smiling and charming, in her warm, country-style restaurant. Right away, even before sitting down, we already felt a bit at home! We ordered our set menu (€12) and soon after, a starter arrived: beautifully presented beef carpaccio, followed by a piece of chicken on a bed of cabbage, accompanied by mushrooms and potatoes—all absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and just the right amount of spice…and a dessert of rice pudding (just like in the old days). We thought to ourselves, it's impossible to get such a meal for that price! We chatted a lot with our hostess, Sophie. She and her husband, both originally from Belgium, took over this hotel-restaurant a year ago. For us, it was a real success... We truly felt Sophie's dedication to doing everything to satisfy her customers; we were pampered, even receiving a gift for Mom's birthday! We certainly won't wait for another birthday to return to La Chaumière and encourage all readers of this message to do the same. A must-visit. Thank you, Sophie.

09/10/2025: This charming cottage with its authentic character is a must-see. The owners are exceptionally kind and welcoming. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. Breakfast is superb. A wonderful discovery. Easily accessible. Vehicle parking available.

16/03/2026: My second home 🥰 Amazing servers and atmosphere!!!

15/03/2026: Upon arrival, we were given the menu and seated on the first floor. We saw the waiter once to take our order and a second time to bring it to us. Then we had to go downstairs to get another drink. We also wanted to order tapas, but since no one else was coming, we went downstairs and paid. However, unlike the previous two evenings, it was quieter; there were fewer people this Saturday night. The experience would certainly have been different if we had been seated downstairs. The tapas and drinks were very good.

16/04/2026: One of the best pizzas in the Allier region! And we've had a lot in our lives!! Fresh ingredients, a wonderfully topped pizza, no canned tomato puree, but fresh tomatoes drizzled with olive oil...! Don't hesitate to finish your meal with the homemade ice creams and sorbets! 10/03/2026: Nice little place with a menu featuring several dishes, including fairly generous burgers served with a small side of fries. They also have salads, as well as other dishes like cordon bleu and meats. The portions aren't huge, but the prices are reasonable. However, I don't recommend the vegetarian options; they're a real disappointment and overpriced for just vegetables and fries with no protein substitute. It's right next to the theater, which is perfect.

02/05/2026: Disappointed. I was expecting a small country restaurant. The owner was friendly, but there was no atmosphere in this bland and dimly lit place. The starters were low-quality, the main course came with undercooked fries, and I shudder to think what the griddle must have looked like given the taste of my fish... and worst of all, the price! €20 for the set menu (which wasn't mentioned anywhere). I don't recommend it and won't be going back.
