Marseille-1Er, Marseille
16/01/2026: Excellent! Pleasant welcome, excellent food, and attentive staff. I highly recommend it.
14/01/2026: I had indigestion from the prawns, and the naans are made with thick wheat flour—it's like eating Algerian M'semen from Noailles. This restaurant doesn't even meet the basic standards of an Indian restaurant. I much prefer other places like Bombay Grill in Prado or the one in Castellane near Monoprix, also heading towards Prado. The price is reasonable, but it's unacceptable for a restaurant on the Old Port to be so lax about the quality of its food. I won't be going back.
The welcome and service were adequate, however.

Fuxia l'epicerie
Marseille-1Er, Marseille
04/02/2026: My boyfriend and I came to eat here, and we didn't like it. The pasta decorations were from a supermarket, and the decor and bottles were awful. Plus, there was a smell of smoke in the restaurant, even though it's non-smoking. As a smoker, I found it very unpleasant. Then, I ordered a Figatelli pizza, and they brought me a pizza with six pieces of sausage instead. I didn't eat what I ordered. They need to change the chef! Also, the pizza crust was too thick; I had to leave it. Sorry, we won't be back. Avoid this place! 🤮😱🤯
31/01/2026: 🍽️ Impeccable and responsive service! We didn't have to wait and were served very quickly!
🍕 The pizzas are delicious and generous!
🍊 The Spritz are perfect!!!
🍋 The limoncello was amazing!
In short: Everything was perfect 👌🏻

The gentleman at the cash register was really kind, welcoming, and generous, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

L'Epuisette
Marseille-7E, Marseille
12/10/2025: It’s a shame that this legendary place has closed.
19/09/2025: A unique experience at L'Épuisette. Not being a fan of gourmet cuisine, I was a little apprehensive about leaving feeling unsatisfied when I saw the quantities. But that's not what you're looking for when you come here, and I was amazed by the flavors I discovered. The dishes are well-crafted and very refined, and with the successive courses, you end up leaving with a full stomach.
I had requested a good table and my request was respected, which made the meal even more enjoyable.
A wonderful memory.

La Cave de Baille
Marseille-5E, Marseille
23/01/2026: For a friendly, delicious experience hosted by a team of knowledgeable experts! I highly recommend it 😋😋
22/01/2026: A very warm and reassuring welcome, in addition to a very well-stocked wine cellar and tasting platters that look delicious (I haven't had a chance to try them yet). Having had an accident in front of their shop, the entire team was very supportive and understanding in helping me. I thank them for that.

Longchamp Palace

09/02/2026: Excellent restaurant that we discovered during our stay in Marseille. Very good value for money, and a big thank you to the team for their recommendations.
08/02/2026: The atmosphere is great, and so is the staff. I didn't eat there, but one evening at the bar was enough for me to fall in love with this place, which has a real Marseille feel: good humor, joie de vivre, and a spirit of sharing.

17/02/2026: While visiting Marseille, we stopped for lunch at Le Caribou and received a warm welcome from the staff.
The dishes were very well prepared and delicious.
The children's menu is great: drinks, a main course, and dessert for €10.
Impeccable.

Le Souk
Marseille-2E, Marseille
05/01/2026: We just spent the weekend in Marseille and discovered this restaurant, "Le Souk," located on the Old Port. We loved it! The service was perfect, and the waitress was attentive and very friendly.
Thank you.
We'll definitely be back to eat there next time we're in Marseille! 😃
04/01/2026: Standard service.
We had booked for 1:00 PM, but being about half an hour late, I called back to apologize and let them know we were running late. No couscous with roasted lamb... Huge disappointment... I asked the waitress, who was very unfriendly, to make a small change to the four-meat couscous... which she finally agreed to... Since I don't eat carrots, I asked her to make sure to put in very, very few... The answer: no, that's impossible... As a result, there was practically nothing but carrots, two tiny pieces of zucchini, and that was it... My husband, starving because we had driven for an hour and a half and done some sightseeing, ate all the carrots out of spite... And, what a surprise it was when we saw that the semolina or vegetables were extra!!!... It's the first time!!!... So, obviously, we didn't enjoy this moment at all.... Very bad experience... Above all, don't go to these restaurants on the port... They think they can get away with anything.... Next time, we'll go to the center of Marseille. in small, unpretentious restaurants that respect the customer...

16/02/2026: When the beer 🍺 is good, it's hard to make things complicated...
The atmosphere suggests a pretty lively evening ahead, even though the bar was rather chill when we were there...
And as we say back home...

07/02/2026: Seeing the round Guinness sign while walking down a street is always a comfort, particularly north of the old port where I’ve only encountered two of them. I would expect the Guinness to be on tap, and lovingly poured into a proper Guinness pint glass. To my disappointment, the Guinness came from cans, the same ones (it seems) that you could buy at a supermarket with the nitro balls inside. The bartender / manager assured me that it was the same thing as Guinness on draft and he proceeded to use this machine that held the glass at an angle and slowly straightened itself. Like a hand-pour it waited a bit before topping off the glass.
Unfortunately, the glass that the bar used was not a proper (Imperial) pint glass but a French 50 cL glass. So, oddly, the bartender had to pull the glass out of the machine and put in another glass for the remaining 6.8 cL “excess.” It was the strangest thing. I thought why not just use pint glasses, particularly in an establishment that has the round “Guinness” sign hung prominently outside the bar? And the machine itself looked like it was meant to hold a classic Guinness glass (with the top half tapering out into an almost goblet-like form). Beyond this strange encounter with the pouring of my favorite beer, I felt that the price was a bit steep for “Happy Hour” at 9 EUR (with the excess thrown out, no less).
The bar itself was nice. It was a proper bar with hooks underneath for bags, and had a nice vibe. Other “bars” that I’ve seen in Marseille are a bit “fake-ish” and are meant to serve from rather than a place to sit properly next to. It had a bit of that corporate look that the other bars and restaurants along this stretch of the port has and feels like it caters more to tourists and workers in the area vs. a “local” with a bit more personality (for this you would have to go to Cours Ju).
The manager and staff were friendly and attentive to everyone that came in. Although I think they probably thought I was odd because I was questioning their little Guinness machine. Music was good (from rock to rockabilly and blues) but veered a bit at one point to country, which the manager, wisely, pulled back from.
It was okay and I will come again. It may never happen in La Joliette but I’m still hoping for a perfect pour this side of the port.
