21/12/2025: A very nice and good restaurant in the old town center of Angoulême. In addition to having a wide selection on their menu, Cokotte even offers vegetarian starters and a main course, which isn't always easy to find when you're looking for a good restaurant with vegetarian options in Angoulême. The dishes we ordered with my boyfriend (not vegetarian) and myself (vegetarian) were mild and very tasty, their wine was also excellent, and their dessert was very good too, although the portions were a bit small for the price. We'll keep this address in mind, but only for special occasions as it's a bit above our usual budget (we're students). Superb decor!

27/02/2026: I really liked this hotel. Its one of those old established town centre French hotels that is full of charm. The bedrooms have recently been decorated and upgraded and everything was clean and comfortable. It was quiet at night despite being so central. There is free overnight parking about 80 metres away. I had a great breakfast and dinner there, and of course I had to try one of their 15 year old cognacs. The waitress explained to me in detail how it was made and matured. She and all of the other staff were efficient and very friendly. I would recommend it.

16/08/2024: On a été très bien reçu. On nous a fait patienter quelques minutes à une table à l'intérieur en attendant de dresser une table en terrasse. Je trouve ça vraiment génial l'affichette des toilettes disant que des serviettes hygiéniques sont disponibles sur demande à la serveuse... Bravo pour l'idée. Pizza fine très bonne. Salades généreuses et fraiches.. je recommande.

07/07/2024: Je suis aller avec mes filles et ma nouvelle compagne, menu enfant la pizza était aussi grande que la mienne pris à la carte, pour les pâtes carbonate menu enfant 5 lardons, de la crème et des pâtes, pizza menu adultes trop petite et trop cuite pizza St Jacques sans aucun intérêt et pizza du chef pareil. Le seul point positif est le service, le patron de bonne humeur et agréable. La crêpes au chocolat, la crêpes est bonne le chocolat est coupé avec de l'eau, pas génial. Glace de qualité moyenne. Pour le prix pour 4 personnes. Trop chère

21/09/2024: The Dutch owner is super nice. Large pitches with shelter, table and fridge (we are a couple of cycle tourists in a tent). Clean sanitary facilities. Small grocery store, bar and restaurant on site. Ideal for cyclists because on the EV3 route (Scandiberian)

30/07/2024: Very nice surprise on the way to the holidays. A very warm welcome and generous cuisine and varied. The cooled room is a plus during this heatwave period.

16/08/2024: Cadre : au coeur de Cognac. Bel intérieur. Service : parfait. Personnel très sympathique. La carte : suffisante Les plats : les produits sont de bonne qualité. Je suis moins fan de l’assemblage des saveurs. Toutefois, je mets 5 étoiles car il s’agit uniquement de mes goûts culinaires et il faut reconnaître que la présentation des plats est belle. De plus, le goût et la cuisson de chaque ingrédients sont parfaits. Les prix : dans la moyenne. Je recommande ce restaurant car c’est un établissement professionnel et convivial.

13/08/2024: Très bon service, aux petits soins. Belle terrasse. Une carte courte qui garantit la fraîcheur. Un gravlax de saumon un peu trop pimenté. Une CB inopérante, donc sdu cash à retirer. Donc, en résumé, beaucoup de positif et un peu de négatif. A refaire !

13/09/2024: We had a really great lunch, and each course was a new taste experience. I especially loved the Truffle dish. Our menu gave us a range of courses featuring a wonderful selection of ingredients and preparation techniques. We loved them all. Service was relaxed, and our server was very knowledgeable and described the dishes in detail, so we really appreciated them. He was genuinely interested in our thoughts, and he made it all more enjoyable. We had a memorable lunch that we feel was very good value for money. If we are in the area, we will return.

28/08/2024: Le restaurant étoilé propose des plats avec peu de saveurs. Le plat principal, la lotte, est servi avec une sauce tellement vinaigrée que l’on ne sent rien d’autre. Le dessert unique dans les menus consiste en des tranches fines de pêche peu mûres, une boule de glace aux herbes et un choux extrêmement sec. Un dessert étoilé franchement? Il y a un menu végétarien qui ne contient que des légumes. Aucune légumineuse, aucune céréales : 0 protéines. Ils ne savent pas ce que doit contenir un menu végétarien. Le bistro a quant à lui un très bon rapport qualité prix. Le tarte aux myrtilles est succulente et j’aurais de beaucoup préféré ce dessert dans l’étoilé. Bref, allez plutôt au bistro si vous voulez profiter du lieu qui est franchement à découvrir.
