15/08/2026: I usually buy macarons and other treats as gifts from this lovely biscuit shop when I'm invited somewhere. Yesterday, I went with a friend I was showing Angoulême to. We ate on the terrace, and she bought a box of macarons. Not being familiar with them, she asked for a taste. And then, a very awkward moment: we were given a tiny piece, very reluctantly and out of obligation! This reaction made us uncomfortable, and it's really not good customer service! We understand they can't offer a free sample to every customer, but still! The previous week, I had bought a box of macarons and some Bouteville balm as gifts. Well, this will be the last time, which is a shame because the products are excellent, but the service isn't this shop's strong point.

10/08/2026: The madeleines are a must-try! Excellent, indulgent... a detour every time you're in Angoulême. In addition, the tableware on display is exquisite, truly unique and worth acquiring.

03/08/2026: According to the sign, this restaurant is called "L'air du temps" (this needs to be corrected on maps). We had a very good dinner. The waitresses were friendly. I would recommend that the owner hire a knife sharpener (or failing that, a carpenter) to sharpen the knives. Mine was dull. I recommend this establishment to guests of the Kyriad hotel next door, as they receive a discount. A quick pressure washing of the exterior stairs would be welcome.

23/07/2026: Nice setting. Friendly owner, happy to chat. An unbeatable €9.90 set menu including a crudité starter, marinated chicken fillets with fries and salad, and remarkably high-quality homemade ice cream. Exceptional value for money. Highly recommended.

03/07/2026: Meal: very good, price: reasonable, hygiene: adequate (dishes and restrooms). Service: pleasant and polite.

19/05/2026: A pleasant surprise for a supermarket brasserie. The food is very good and offers excellent value for money. The staff is very friendly. I recommend the baked eggs, which were a real treat.

10/08/2026: Buffet meal at a lunch time. We were late in so selection was limited but what we had was good. There is a grill with chef on hand to cook what you selected from the raw section with various sauces.

28/07/2026: It's small. Quiet. Refilled several times during service. So yes, it's not new... it's not like the other four behemoth buffets. But it's also much, much cheaper. Friendly, family-run welcome.

18/08/2026: A nice little snack bar, perfect for relaxing and enjoying salads, pizza, sandwiches... Bread is sold according to your preferred level of toasting. Drinks are also available if you'd like to accompany a meal or something else. The young servers today were very pleasant and helpful.

14/08/2026: Thank you to the lady behind the stall who gave me my two baguettes; I was in my firefighter's uniform and had just returned from the fires in Gironde. Thank you again for this kind gesture.

24/07/2026: The boss was awful, didn't even say hello, just "get out." Great experience, we loved it!

16/05/2026: First time in this bar, we went there to play a game of pool and darts, just a typical student outing… We had barely arrived (I'm not exaggerating, we had only stepped inside) when a woman (the owner) literally yelled at us, "You're minors! You're minors! There are minors in this group!" We were a bit shocked and incredulous, but we thought the woman was joking (it was so surreal), so we went up to the bar, and that's when we noticed the woman's strange and very aggressive behavior. "Did someone just laugh?" "Who was making fun of me?" We offered her our ID cards as proof of age, but it was no use (the worst part is that no one reacted to her aggressive behavior; she was literally shouting throughout the bar, and her colleague seemed to think it was normal). Frankly, we left the bar completely bewildered by the situation, and I'm not surprised by the recent comments suggesting she was on drugs because her eyes were wide and she was making numerous nervous gestures. Response to the comment: We understand the restrictions regarding minors, but this does not justify the aggressive reception, especially since we offered to show our ID cards as proof of age. I could say that it's also defamatory to refuse entry to people based on their appearance rather than their actual identity (since we were all adults). Furthermore, we simply agree with the previous comments which also describe the manager's completely erratic behavior (including some comments that explicitly mention physical aggression), which can really lead to confusion regarding certain consumption patterns. Before saying that our judgment was excessive, it's primarily the opinion of many "customers" who had a similar and unpleasant experience.

03/09/2026: I had a fantastic meal!!! Superb food, great atmosphere, excellent service.

27/08/2026: A pleasant surprise. I'd gone in for a light meal... salad and crispy chicken (the chicken is halal only) were so good that I ordered a main course and dessert. I especially recommend the Thai dishes, which are delicious.

18/08/2026: Mussels and fries were not great, but the servers were friendly.

14/08/2026: I often go to this bar with my colleagues; there's a great atmosphere, the servers are very competent and lovely. A special mention goes to Erwan who served us and made our time enjoyable with his humor and good cheer.

05/07/2026: We didn't enjoy their cakes despite their excellent quality; the welcome from Patricia was so poor. Avoid this place! There's a bakery right across the street where you'll be very well received by a Ukrainian woman.

15/06/2026: I had a very good meal, and the cuisine is definitely worth the trip. However, I question the four-star rating. Regarding the service, the staff could be more attentive. We were a group of about forty people, and I felt that their main objective was to serve us quickly and clear the dining room as fast as possible, rather than to provide us with a genuine dining experience. It's a shame, because the quality of the food is excellent.

12/06/2026: Stopped here on our way to Poitiers in the recent blistering heat. We were greeted by a lovely friendly waitress, think her name was Marie, who , after my school boy attempt at French replied in perfect English! I had the steak and chips which was cooked to perfection, wife and future daughter in law had the chicken and chips which were well portioned and tasty, while the son had the black pudding sausages which were very tasty as well. Service was spot on , enough time to enjoy a drink and food and a nice gap before dessert , tarte tatin which was lovely. Price was reasonable and value for money. Would happily visit here again if we ever venture out this way , merci beaucoup !
