28/06/2025: Every year when we are in this part of France we have lunch at the Comptoir de Paris. This year the daily menu was fantastic again. We have lunched outside for three weeks during our holiday in the eastern part of the Cher. More and more restaurants are closing in this region and compared to what is left, the Comptoir is top.

05/02/2026: I came today to get my takeaway lunch a little before noon. I ordered one of their bao burgers to reheat, only to find it half-burnt at home. Leaving aside the staff's friendliness, that's pretty bad, in my opinion.

05/01/2026: The staff is exemplary, the service impeccable, and the place very clean. I highly recommend it.

07/02/2026: A warm welcome... A long-established restaurant, we decided to give it a try. Being fans of charcuterie boards, we discovered this one, which was disappointing; thick, cheap slices of meat and a shortbread biscuit three months past its expiration date. Being in the restaurant industry, we were puzzled... The filet mignon could have been good, unfortunately it was very dry, but given the price, we ate it. As we were told: there's the "rosé" team, the "well-cooked" team, and the "enough is enough" team; we belong to the latter. We tried it, but we won't be repeating the experience. Thank you for the gesture of goodwill.

06/02/2026: Before training them in sales, you should educate your staff because no hello, no goodbye, making customers wait, very rude. Luckily the sandwich maker came, otherwise I'd still be there.

13/02/2026: I came to have a drink at this bar/tobacconist, and frankly, the manager was really unpleasant. I was almost assaulted because she was about to close. She's really not customer-oriented and is very disagreeable. 😡😡😡🙁🙁🙁

09/02/2026: First experience with my wife, and certainly the last. Appetizers, main courses, wines to accompany them, and a coffee for me. When it came time to pay, the owner asked, "How was it?" When asked, I replied, "The fries were sweet!" The owner called her husband into the kitchen. "You made a mistake, you put sugar instead of salt!" But no, it's the potato flesh that's sweet. "Impossible," they retorted, "I tasted them and they weren't sweet." With my coffee, I had a fruit jelly, which was quite good, by the way. So I pointed out that a table behind us, who weren't ordering coffee, had received a small plate with four small fruit jellies, and I got a wonderful response: "Those ladies are regular customers." I didn't know there were different types of customers. Too bad, I won't become a regular who can benefit from special treatment. I hope for the sake of these regular customers that the owner will not carry out, as she loudly proclaimed, her plan to stop offering fruit jellies because of me.

20/12/2025: A fantastic time with a large group of 20 people! Delicious service and food 😋 The welcome was amazing, we felt like queens 👑!!

25/01/2026: Absolutely terrible!!!! I relied on the reviews, so I can tell you that we came as a family and the manager wasn't friendly at all. It's a place where you have to be a man to be heard. Don't even bother stopping at this kebab shop. A taco costs 9 euros without fries, and the grilled chicken panini is 7 euros. You have to add 2.50 for the meal deal. Honestly, run away! Don't stop here if you want a family break after a long journey. I do not recommend this kebab shop.

13/10/2025: Comforting old building thoughtfully decorated. Getting a reservation online was simple. The welcoming staff tolerated my French so nicely, I am just learning. The food was wonderful, still thinking about the oeuf poché toupinel.

25/09/2025: Small, cosy, friendly restaurant offering interesting and wholesome menu options (not much choice for vegans) on 2 levels in a quiet back street near the cathedral. Main courses were served very quickly (did they see us coming?!) We were able to relax, chat and take our time. We will return for more of the same!

10/07/2025: Lovely staff but the worst food I have eaten. I would much rather go hungry. I was baffled by the number of French customers. Better to go down the road to the Supermarche.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff and the manager for returning my wallet and mobile phone, which I had left on the table while clearing my tray. I only realized it 20 minutes after leaving the restaurant. What a relief! I had my credit cards and cash with me. Thank you again for your kindness.
