07/12/2024: Hello Saturday December 7, 2024 only restaurant open in this magnificent village. We were lucky enough to only find this restaurant which allowed us to eat in a pleasant setting (old building) and finally a local meal. (Farmhouse soup, stuffed cabbage, truffade....) and at an affordable price. Flawless for the cuisine that is offered. Finally a cook who understood that simple, very well cooked products always leave good memories. Local cuisine (menu at 19 euros) and yes, not expensive because the stuffed cabbage, cantal cheese, potatoes and onion soup with stale bread are from here.... Thank you very much, I will recommend you and I will come back with pleasure. Keep it up you got it all

26/10/2024: Average room. In terms of hygiene, I've had better. Found hairs in the bathroom, smell of rising sewer in the toilets... Floor that makes you not want to put your feet on it without shoes.. For the restaurant. Impossible to eat at 4 in the evening when they don't welcome anyone other than hotel guests.... For breakfast, paid 10 balls to have a breakfast that was truly pitiful. I do not recommend and will not return.

18/08/2024: A little too expensive for the current standard. The reception is correct and accommodating but the cleaning service can be revised. A bit off-center without it being infeasible on foot. On the other hand, in the middle of the festival, take into account the slightly unusual wake-up times and do not run the lawn mower at 7 a.m. or knock at 10 a.m. on 2 affiliated days.

18/09/2024: Je fréquente la région depuis tout petit, 1968 exactement. J y ai un pied à terre depuis 25 ans et cela faisait bien 5 ans que je n étais pas venu au restaurant du Valcastel, depuis l épisode "Égyptien" pour ceux qui connaissent... Après avoir consulté le site du restaurant pour connaître les.menus et les avis, j ai décidé d y dîner avec une petite appréhension vu les critiques acerbes qui y figurent. C est chose faite ce soir et je rejoins l avis de cet internaute qui s étonne des critiques sévères qu on peut y lire. J ai pris le.menu relais à 28 euros un soir de semaine. J ai mangé une cuisine travaillée plutôt raffinée. La quantité peut paraître juste au premier abord mais en fin de repas je ne suis pas reparti avec la faim. Peut être doit on choisir entre quantité et qualité? Pour ma part je suis satisfait à tout point de vue, repas, service et cadre. Personnel attentif et bienveillant. Je regrette que les clients insatisfaits n aient pas eu ma chance. Le prix ? Il est est aussi celui d un établissement qui ouvre tous les soirs quand le autres sont fermés 4 soirs sur 7. Avec un peu de réflexion et d analyse on peut peut-être faire preuve d indulgence. J y retournerai et si parfois je devais changer d avis, je ne manquerai pas de le faire savoir.

10/07/2025: The waitress was very rude. They forced us to consume more under the pretext that we were too busy at the table (4) but not enough to consume (3). When we asked for a glass of water, they immediately sent us packing. I strongly advise against this bar!

Cold, unpleasant and rude welcome!! Homemade food dating from the day before minimum breakfast 13 euro disgusting staff unpleasant derogatory look!!! Don't be fooled by the rather pretty frame, the abi doesn't make the monk a huge disappointment!!!!! To flee.
