31/03/2024: I had dinner at the restaurant "Le Boeuf sur la Place" in Tours last night, attracted by the good reviews on Google Maps. My experience, unfortunately, didn't quite live up to my expectations. The quality of the meat, a central element of their offering, seemed to me to fall short of what one might expect from such a well-rated establishment. The service was OK, nothing more. Although the majority of staff were professional, the friendliness of some left something to be desired. In summary, although "Le Boeuf sur la Place" is a decent restaurant for an evening, I would not call it exceptional. It seems a bit overrated compared to what I've experienced.

30/03/2024: Cold reception. Waitresses just friendly and commercial. An impression of we don't care about customers. Meat skewers not cooked as requested and coarse profiteroles. Do not confuse hearty with good. We came several times to dine in this restaurant which we found very good. Big disappointment today.

07/05/2024: We had reserved. We had looked at the menu online and noted that the menu was extremely limited, although they do have a special 2 course lunch menu for €20. We knew that if that menu did not appeal to us, and upon arrival it did not, we could order from the regular menu. The restaurant was busy but most patrons were eating or awaiting food when we were seated. We ordered, had to ask 3 times for a glass of wine. When our first courses arrived, we had to request bread. The very thin slice of terrine was served unaccompanied on a black plate - very unappealing but tasty enough. The main courses were served with a side dish of cold, unsalted mashed potatoes or very lumpy tasteless rice. The paupiette of veau looked and tasted factory produced but the sauce was decent. There was not a vegetable in sight (the diners beside us got the whole chicken served for 2 and some gravy was poured over but that was all that was on the plate, the same as the American ribs). The waiters were such amateurs - couldn’t remember who ordered what, were constantly bumping into patrons and contributed to the chaotic feel. The value is not there - 2 courses, 2 diners, 1 glass of wine = €72 for lunch. We first ate here in May 2002 and still remember that dinner which was so tasty, beautiful on the plate and served by competent and friendly waiters. We have returned occasionally over the years but never again - go to Le Petit Patrimoine to experience a French lunch in style!!

14/05/2024: Bon restaurant dans le centre-ville de Tours, le cadre est agréable et les produits sont bien cuisinés. Cela correspondait à nos attentes en venant dans ce type de brasserie. Les prix sont assez élevés mais c'était très bon.

13/05/2024: bagel saumon fumé vraiment pas terrible (mauvais saumon fumé, aucun goût des crudités) et frites industrielles pas à la hauteur de ce type de grande brasserie

06/05/2024: Great bar loaded with boardgames for anybody, even for toddlers. We spent 2 great evenings there with our 5 year old child and everybody enjoyed it, which is issued difficult when traveling with young children.

27/04/2024: I've been going to Cubrik for 4 years, the atmosphere is always welcoming, the temporary exhibitions are friendly and the board game concept is great. But while I used to order various food from this one. Depending on the seasons the menu changes and it's nice, last night with 2 friends we went to eat at cubrik and we found ourselves the same evening but especially the next day with what can be compared to poisoning eating. Has there been a change? The servers were also different than usual, is this the same for the kitchens?

23/03/2024: A little snack break in this delicious place. A little noisy... At the same time, it was raining and everyone had the same idea of ​​getting dry! Two portions of clafoutis and two hot chocolates for €18... Especially since the portions aren't very big either... Very expensive though! Good... Certainly, but really not cheap (afterwards these are unfortunately the prices charged in this type of small tea room) Homemade cakes obviously and original recipes. Friendly and pleasant staff. Fast service.

03/03/2024: Tested this weekend with two friends for a snack, delicious! Warm, pleasant place, very good drinks and desserts. Looking forward to also testing the savory part with brunch!

13/03/2024: A restaurant chosen at random near the market halls. Not disappointed, the dishes are simple but good, homemade. The welcome was up to par! I recommend this restaurant. To do again as soon as I return to Tours.

30/03/2024: We entered this restaurant by chance, we were the first, we did not dare to take the raclette and chose the steak of beef with blue sauce and pepper sauce, very good, and we regretted not having taken the raclette when we saw around us those who ate it!!!!! We will return there for a few months during a next stay in Tours to discover other castles. In short, don't hesitate to open the door of "the greedy mouse" Rue Colbert 😉👍😋
