26/04/2026: The reviews weren't lying! In our five day trip we had a lot of good food but this was by far the best experience we had. Not not just an absolute steal but a culinary heist in broad daylight! The chef/owner is really welcoming, the selection of foods and wine was excactly right and his in depth knowledge, technique and creativity really came through with every single dish. Please do give this place a try.

One very minor issue (perhaps an isolated incident reported at the end of the meal): small bones in the Caesar salad, which, incidentally, isn't traditional; indeed, the breaded chicken was cold. However, I still recommend this restaurant. Reservations are necessary.

The service was impeccable, warm, and attentive from start to finish. The neighborhood and the restaurant's atmosphere are truly beautiful and inviting. The club sandwich was fantastic, made with fresh ingredients and delicious flavor. Thank you for the welcome; next time we'll take the time to explore the menu. Well done!

The setting is exactly what you imagine a truly authentic French bistro to be—the chalkboard on the wall, an incredibly warm atmosphere, no snobbery, just genuine soul. And now, a compliment from one chef to another: it's exactly like that scene in the movie "Burnt," when the cook calmly replies, "I know," when told his dish is fantastic. I KNOW you know how amazing your cooking is! But between colleagues, I still had to tip my hat to you. On your beef kefta, I might have had a little more fun with mint, oregano, and a pinch of salt and pepper... 😉 But your ponzu-style marinated pork tenderloin? Absolutely KILLER, it was a total knockout! Pure expertise, a playful approach to flavors, and complete mastery, from small plates meant for sharing to Loire wines. Thank you for this incredible experience. Huge respect and hats off to the artist!

26/08/2026: We shared three main dishes, a local bottle of wine and dessert and everything was excellent. Good vibes and friendly staff that also spoke English and really went the extra mile to make us have a great evening :) Our highlight in Loire! To book we just dropped by earlier on the same day and our dog was also allowed inside.

07/08/2026: A wonderful experience at La Table des Halles. The menu is concise, but the starters, main courses, and desserts are original and well-prepared. We had a lovely time in Sainte-Maure, and the service was very pleasant!

Price: incredibly competitive, €25 for a starter, main course, and dessert of this quality—I haven't found anything comparable. A wonderful experience! We'll definitely be back!

15/08/2026: An unusual spot if you're in tourist mode. The restaurant is located in a cave dwelling, which is common in this region. The food is very good, made with fresh ingredients... The service is a bit stiff; a smile would be welcome. Overall, I recommend it!
