18/02/2024: Michelin-starred restaurant a little lost in the countryside near Azay le Rideau, the Pom Poire inn offers a magnificent setting with its large room with cathedral ceilings and its immense glass wall. The cuisine is quite classic but well presented and very tasty. The welcome is warm as is the absolutely perfect service. We had an excellent evening on February 14 with you.
2 downsides: the absence of a menu and therefore of prices to guide our choices, confidence which will cost you nearly 400 euros for 2 menus + 2 appetizers + 1 water and 1 food-wine pairing + 1 coffee. 2nd little irritant, the quantity of wine served by the glass which is really mean (close to the usual 1/2 quantity).

10/03/2024: While passing through Tours with my partner, we were looking for a restaurant with French cuisine and we were not disappointed. The dishes are classics slightly revisited by the chef, but with relevance and great taste and the plates are very well presented. I won't go into too much detail, but the potato gratin with onion compote that served as an accompaniment to the fennel-buttered piece of beef was a little out of the ordinary but was perfect. The chef presents his menu with passion and even details the conception of his dishes. My partner who is not French opted for a plate of cheese for dessert, the chef's wife came to bring her a cart with a multitude of cheeses, the specificities of which she presented so that she could choose four. My dessert was a chocolate-coconut-caramel with a mix of texture (crunchy-soft) that I really liked. If I absolutely had to look for negative points I would say that the frame could be improved a little (but it is quite satisfactory), that the table leg with a raised edge is not optimal for my long legs and that the coffee wasn't great. I must still say that my companion's coffee and tea were served in a nice service. The menu is limited with three starters, three main courses and three desserts, but I don't see this as a disadvantage but rather as a desire to completely control your menu. In conclusion, I would say that I totally recommend this restaurant (and I will happily return there if I return to Tours) which is run by a couple of passionate restaurateurs. I invite them to continue and persevere in their efforts to always improve!

03/03/2024: Everything is perfect at the Auberge de l'île. The cuisine is refined and generous and the chef reinvents himself with as much talent as ever. The staff is professional and attentive. I particularly thank the director of the establishment for her welcome, her smile and her kindness.
09/12/2023: Everything is delicious and served with attention, efficiency and kindness. The flavor combinations are refined. Everything has been done to accommodate food intolerances. The price is reasonable but it is well deserved!

19/03/2024: We had dinner in this restaurant during our weekend in Amboise, we had a pleasant time there, special mention to our server who was great throughout the service and with whom we had a good laugh! Not to mention the food which is of good quality and above all homemade with local products. And the best for last, the desserts made by the pastry chef which are to die for, in short we enjoyed ourselves in every way!

22/03/2024: We came on a Friday lunchtime because they offer fish options that day. The setting is very nice! It was very busy so we waited a long time before our order was taken. However, the service was quick after that. This is unpretentious bistro cuisine, 100% homemade and mainly of French or EU origin. It was really good, with interesting combinations and seasoning!
The quantity differs a little from one plate to another depending on whether you are served at the beginning or end of the service, but we left satisfied. To test !

20/03/2024: Mademoiselle Caroline and her expert Chefs welcomed us for an evening of fine dining that consisted of meals prepared by our group. We enjoyed learning how to make GOAT Cheese stuffed Pastry, Chicken Tarragon Stew and Chocolate Lava Cake. I know I was inspired to explore more French cuisine and look forward to recreating these recipes for my family and friends.
Great way to spend an evening bonding over a highly anticipated meal. It was really nice spending time with the staff and learning from them.
19/03/2024: Our participation in a duo course on 01/03.
It was a total disappointment.
We had chosen this experience with the intention of sharing a friendly moment as a duo and learning new recipes together.
Unfortunately, from the beginning we realized that our expectations would not be met.
The main problem was that the course was organized in a chaotic manner.
Instead of following a recipe from start to finish, we were divided into groups tasked with different tasks, such as cutting mushrooms and parsley, with no explanation of how those steps fit into the overall recipe. While some groups worked on the appetizer, others worked on the dessert, making it impossible to follow a single recipe from start to finish.
This piecemeal approach not only made it difficult to understand the logic behind each step, but it also detracted from our duo cooking experience.
Instead of allowing us to collaborate and share a meaningful culinary experience, we found ourselves as a group, with no connection to the final dish.
If you want a duo class, run away!
