28/08/2024: Courte Paille is no longer what it was. We ask to eat on the terrace, it seems to bother us. The burgers are dry, the fries are soaking in oil. For dessert, the Liège chocolate consists of 2 small scoops of ice cream hidden under a ton of whipped cream.... 7e90 for that is a steal. We will not go back there again....

27/08/2024: The food was good, and as I have unfortunately rarely seen in a restaurant, the vegetarian plates are much more generous than those with meat. Very special mention for the service which was impeccable and very attentive from start to finish. Even with annoying customers at the next table, the servers were able to maintain a professionalism and kindness that no one would have had. We didn’t think we would come back but the servers certainly made us want to! Thank you to them for their good humor and their joy of living.

26/01/2026: Extremely disappointing experience and a complete lack of professionalism. My husband had booked and planned a surprise Christmas night at the Hôtel Chicamour in Sury-au-Bois, in direct agreement with the manager. Everything had been organized in advance. Upon our arrival, the hotel was completely closed, with no one to greet us, and we had children and luggage. The manager was unreachable and didn't even bother to call back. Several days later, my husband had to follow up. The manager then provided incoherent and clearly false explanations, mentioning an employee who was supposed to be there, then his dismissal, promising to get back to us… which he never did. A month later, still no news. When we called again from another number, the story changed once more. No honesty, no taking of responsibility, no gesture of goodwill. This establishment hosts weddings and events: based on our experience, reliability is clearly lacking. A huge disappointment, especially for a family moment that was supposed to be exceptional.

22/01/2026: Absolutely unreliable. I wanted to surprise my wife and two children for Christmas, and I was sorely mistaken! After several attempts to contact the owner in early December, I booked a dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast for December 26th. Everything seemed fine. On the day, we entered the courtyard, and I happily announced to my family that we were going to spend the night at the castle. A few meters later, the surprise turned sour as we found the establishment... closed! I tried calling the owner several times at the time, but he never answered. We had to leave. On January 5th, I called the owner again, who feigned surprise and mentioned staffing problems. I told him to look into the situation and call me back. No response. On January 9th, I called him again, and he told me he had to meet with his "offending" employee that afternoon to fire him and that he would call me back that evening. No response... He then stopped answering my calls. I tried again on January 22nd, but to no avail. However, my wife was able to reach him without any problem using her number that same day. He then launched into incoherent explanations that didn't hold water. This gentleman seems very friendly on the phone, but don't be fooled: affable, but unreliable! In short, if you don't want your wedding or event to be a disaster: run away!!!

11/07/2025: We stayed one night in a family room (double bed and sofa bed). The bedding was very good, the size of the room and bathroom was a little small but sufficient. We really appreciated the self-service water and fruit juice and the little touch of the chocolate bar in the room, which was delicious. The breakfast was varied and very good, with crepes and pancakes, pies, scrambled eggs and sausage, cheeses.... Lots of activities available, including a beautiful outdoor pool with parasols and straw hats available. Tennis court, playground and terrace for aperitifs. We wanted to have dinner on site but unfortunately we didn't get back in time before closing time. Friendly and helpful hotel staff.

10/07/2025: A team dedicated to serving its customers, all in a pleasant and relaxed setting. We had a wonderful time at the Novotel Demeure de Campagne for a family meal. Lovely food, very well-prepared meals, and attentive service. The children had access to the activity/games room, which allowed us to have a great time together as adults. I truly recommend this establishment and its restaurant. Thank you to the team.

24/09/2024: Would not waste time or effort to visit this place. Website indicated open til 3pm. Cycled from Orleans and arrived at 1:30. Waiter attempted to seat us, owner/boss came was extremely rude claiming they were full , with least 5 tables by the canal and both at the door empty. No attempt to just offer drinks, just blew us off. With other similar poor reviews read since, glad we cycled back to Orleans to La Concurrence by the river. Owner was happy to seat us even though it was 2:30 with a 3pm closing time.

02/12/2024: What a disappointment, it was a restaurant where we liked to stop.... today, dishes with traces, very very very few starters and desserts at 12:45 p.m. and, few choices of hot dishes: chopped steaks or andouillette. . despite the dedication of the employee (who alternated alone between cooking, serving and cashing)..... we are extremely disappointed and we will pass there from now on without stopping.... To be avoided.... ..
