From the menu, I chose the broad bean salad and the skate wing with spinach. It was simply DELICIOUS! Kudos to the chef. The spinach was perfectly cooked. The portion was more than enough for me. A great place in Beaumont 🙂 Reservations recommended!

26/08/2026: I'm Italian and I was there in August 2026. The food was excellent, both meat and fish. The oysters are superior, truly excellent, and at prices you'd only dream of in Italy. The desserts were amazing. A slight criticism was that the service was a bit too long, which I believe was due to insufficient staff compared to the potential seating. Good value for money.

05/09/2026: To be clear, the 1 star is awarded for the friendly and pleasant service. The food was below par. We had ordered turbot and ray wing. These are not the most difficult fish to prepare, but that was without counting on the chef's 'creativity'. The turbot was completely dried out with a sauce that was supposed to resemble a white butter sauce, garnished with a dark substance that made the whole thing tasteless and unrecognizable. The ray wing came with a thick, greasy cream sauce. The plates were dressed identically with a dried-out 'salad' of something unrecognizable. Clearly, the plates had been sitting there for hours, with a tasteless dollop of purée—of celeriac (?)—and a mushroom filled with some kind of cream cheese. Disgusting! What in God's name has happened to the 'craft'? Why does a chef feel the need to reinvent the classics of French cuisine instead of following standard recipes? Turbot simply fried in farm butter? Skate wings with a butter/caper sauce with a little lemon. What is so difficult about that?? Sorry to the service team, it is not their fault that an incompetent cook, and therefore an incompetent boss, runs the place. We even left a tip for the friendly people in the dining area. Please find another restaurant so you can get a bit more credit for your work.

31/08/2026: A lovely spot near the port of Carteret, nestled along the coastal road. From appetizer to dessert, the quality is consistently excellent. The wine list offers ample options for pairings. Book in advance during peak season if you'd like a table by the windows or fireplace. Highly recommended. Sandra and Yves

02/09/2026: A very busy place, outside particularly. Wonderful food, we had Fritto Misto to start and Moules to follow. The Moules à la Normande was truly delicious and large. I can't fault the service, definitely on French time, because of the number of diners. Very good value for money. I would certainly return. PS The menu de jour looked lovely too. Thanks to all the staff, especially for their patience, as I was trying desperately to get back into speaking french on my first day back in France.

25/06/2026: We ordered two beef tartares. We were brought an empty salt mill, a jar with two small packets of ketchup, and an empty Worcestershire sauce container. When we pointed this out, we were simply told they were out, without any suggestion or apology. Several servers then asked if we wanted them to go and get more, rolling their eyes whenever we had the misfortune to say yes. This struck us as odd: it shouldn't be the customer's responsibility to ensure the ingredients for a dish are available. A waitress was eventually sent to a nearby convenience store but returned without having found any sauce. When it was suggested that we look for another option, perhaps at a nearby shop, no real search was undertaken and no apology was offered. Unfortunately, the situation worsened when we explained that we didn't want to eat our tartare under these conditions. Instead of a courteous exchange, we were met with unpleasant remarks and a defensive attitude. The waitress explained that she herself ate her steak tartare without Worcestershire sauce, that in her opinion, this sauce played no particular role in terms of hygiene, that it served only to add flavor, and that many restaurants prepared their tartares without it. When we expressed a different opinion, she replied that we weren't going to "teach her how she does her job." The final straw came when we explained that we found it regrettable to be treated as demanding, even rude, customers when we were simply asking for a solution to a problem for which we weren't responsible. Her response was: "Well, you are!" Beyond the lack of sauce, it was primarily the lack of professionalism, the absence of apologies, the refusal to find a solution, and the tone used that deeply disappointed us. Finally, there was no gesture of goodwill or apology when it came time to pay the bill, just the card reader thrust in front of us at full price. If the job of a waiter consists of contradicting the customer, refusing to question anything, and disrespecting them when they express legitimate dissatisfaction, then we certainly aren't going to teach you how to do your job. However, if this job involves courtesy, a sense of service, and respect for the customer, then clearly there are a few reminders to be made. An experience we will not be repeating.

04/09/2026: We had different dishes during our four visits to the restaurant. To start, we were served a complimentary amuse-bouche: fish with dill spread, which was delicious. For our appetizer, we had organic prawns, which were incredibly tender and fresh. The main courses were Dover sole with lemon butter and boiled potatoes, and cod with vegetables and potatoes, all perfectly prepared and fantastic. For dessert, we had homemade ice cream, which was divine, and once we also had a mille-feuille. We finished with an espresso and homemade macarons. The quality of the food is fantastic, the service is excellent and very friendly, and the location is wonderful, overlooking the sea. We felt very comfortable. Thank you!
