05/09/2026: A pleasant restaurant in a good location with friendly staff. The mussels were perfect. It's a shame the fries weren't homemade. The wait was a bit long (almost 25 minutes) even though the restaurant wasn't full. I recommend it.

09/06/2026: I've been staying in hotels every day for nine years and I've never seen anything like it. The room wasn't clean, the walls were stained everywhere, the towel warmer was rusty, and the light fixture was hanging off the ceiling. I arrived at 6:30 PM and waited at least 10 minutes before anyone came. Even when you're first in the breakfast room, there are crumbs on the table that must have been there the day before. Paying €128 for a night's stay for this is a disgrace.

01/12/2025: The welcome was awful. The owner came to take our order while complaining about his health problems. We ordered two drinks and two pizzas. The pizzas arrived after a half-hour wait, even though the restaurant was almost empty. And still no drinks! After insisting, they finally arrived. The pizzas were poor quality. The owner, drinking from behind the counter, came to clear the plates in a state of advanced drunkenness. He made misogynistic and offensive remarks because my wife hadn't finished her meal. Several customers, who arrived before and after us, left the restaurant without ordering anything.

20/10/2025: Just eaten the steak, and Gambas and have been totally satisfied. I eat big portions and these definatly filled the stomach. The staff are very proffesional and friendly and take there time with the customsrs to ensure satisfaction. Will be returning again.

21/08/2026: I ordered a rare steak that was overcooked, my fries were cold, the tap water tasted bad, the tap water was dirty and not good, plus the glasses were dirty, the salt and pepper shakers were sitting in salt and pepper, the chair was in very poor condition, the seat was more than worn and the chair was unstable, the quantity and quality for the price was mediocre

26/08/2026: There's no logic to this restaurant: a children's menu with a minced steak the SAME weight (120g) as the adult one (the adult one being 16 euros, otherwise it wouldn't be any fun), they prefer not to lower the parasol even if it means refusing customers who don't like eating in the sun, waiters you have to grab on the fly to get a carafe of water... in short, for less money, you can find much better!!

19/08/2026: The galette batter was amazing and the servers were super friendly.

20/07/2026: The service was far too slow, which was a shame. We waited over 35 minutes between the starter and the main course.

18/07/2026: The meal was satisfactory, but too expensive for what it was: the quality/price ratio wasn't there.

15/12/2025: What a pleasant surprise at Restaurant du Bon Vieux Temps! We were looking for a nice restaurant and didn't know anything about the area. We went in without really knowing what to expect, and honestly, we had a fantastic time. The food was incredibly high quality at a more than reasonable price, the welcome was wonderfully warm, and the ingredients were local, seasonal, high-quality, and homemade. The menu is limited to a few dishes, which is a real plus because each one is carefully prepared and generous! You can taste the passion in the cooking! I recommend it 100%!

18/08/2026: A truly disappointing experience As a resident of Barneville-Carteret, I was eager to discover this caterer and try their products. So, we decided to go, hoping to explore and get some advice. The products we tasted were good, no complaints there. However, we were very disappointed by the welcome we received. There was no friendliness, no advice, and above all, we felt like we were bothering them when we asked questions. When we inquired about the products, the waitress's response was simply: "Look, it's right here in front of you." It's a real shame, because when you discover a caterer, especially as a local customer, you expect to be greeted with at least a little warmth and to be able to get some advice. The products are good, but the welcome and the level of service clearly need improvement. For me, this first experience unfortunately doesn't make me want to return.

28/08/2026: Great food. Great prices and fantastic service.

27/08/2026: Very disappointed by the food; a simple seasonal mussels and fries, but the fries were overcooked and not fresh. A shame, we're not on holiday.
