09/12/2025: Le Vertugadin has become a traditional stop for me at the start of a weekend in Normandy. Located a stone's throw from the stables of the Château de Chantilly, this French restaurant remains a sure bet. The service is dynamic, friendly, and efficient: nothing to complain about. The cuisine is excellent, with a real selection and high-quality ingredients, perfectly executed. This time, I opted for the set menu; the value for money was truly competitive for an establishment of this caliber. I had previously ordered à la carte and it was a delight, but on the other hand, the prices quickly add up: the Tournedos Rossini alone, I believe, exceeded the price of two complete set menus (starter/main course/dessert + drinks). It's a very good place. The only slight drawback: the decor. A mix of antiques, vintage finds, and more modern, sometimes surprising, elements (special mention to the men's restrooms…surprising, original, but not in the best taste), creates a somewhat cluttered impression and doesn't really tell a coherent story. It's a shame, because the quality of the food deserves a more harmonious setting. That said, the spacious dining room and the terrace in summer are a real plus. An address I still recommend for the quality of its cuisine and service.

The originality of the amuse-bouches, from the appetizer to the dessert. The attentive and discreet service. And an extra star for the head sommelier for his humor and expertise. Bravo!

What a joy to savor seasonal vegetables, especially those from the garden! The seasonings were delicate and unexpected. The staff were charming, attentive, and always smiling. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I want to say that we come to restaurants to enjoy a peaceful moment and relax; it's not always pleasant to see waitresses rushing around. 28/02/2026: For 9 guests, on a Friday evening. Mismatched tables made for an extremely unpleasant atmosphere (one table for 6 and a much smaller table for 3, both different sizes). We were asked for a menu because there weren't enough for the neighboring tables... I was seated at the small table and was constantly interrupted by other guests wanting to move... As for the meal: my dish was made with ingredients that were possibly frozen. My plate and my neighbor's, which was similar, were cold. It's the first time I've ever refused to finish foie gras; this one was awful. The mashed potatoes were mediocre, the vegetables were watery, and the meat was tough. The chocolate profiteroles for dessert weren't any better. The prices were exorbitant for the quality. Furthermore, one of the diners found plastic in his fries. My neighbor ordered a vegetarian dish and received a bowl of soup and a piece of polenta for 24 euros. This establishment is definitely one to avoid, as it focuses entirely on the ambiance. In conclusion, overpriced and unpleasant.

02/03/2026: A warm welcome, the room was spacious enough with comfortable bedding and a standard bathroom. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of options, including children's meals. Dinner offered a multitude of choices for starters and really good main courses, as well as good quality wine and beer. Free parking, child-friendly and accessible for people with disabilities ♿️. To fully enjoy your stay, you can visit the town of Senlis and its many shopping streets, Saint Peter's Cathedral, and the Château de Compiègne. Inside, you can see the Louis XV Hunting Gallery and other beautiful rooms. The Compiègne Forest, the Saint Corneille Chapel, and the Mer de Sable park are also worth a visit, a place your children will love. Finally, pets are welcome.
