At L'Argot, the experience begins at the butcher's counter, where you'll be passionately advised on exceptional breeds and superb aged cuts. On the plate, the cooking is impeccable, the portions are generous, and the appetizers (special mention to the pâté en croûte) set the bar very high. Attentive staff and an authentic atmosphere. A must-visit in Lyon.

01/09/2026: I ate lunch at this restaurant for the first time after seeing the daily special posted on Facebook: a sausage rougail. First, I was served a small green salad with a lovely, well-dressed vinaigrette, garlicky just the way I like it, along with a Communard cheese. Then came the sausage rougail with rice—absolutely delicious! I think I've never had better, with chili and ginger, but not too spicy for my taste, just right. Afterwards, I had a gourmet coffee with an excellent half lemon tartlet, a praline tartlet, and a panna cotta with a red berry coulis. It's been a long time since I've been so impressed by a restaurant; simple dishes, but executed perfectly. I highly recommend it and will be going back soon with friends and family to share it with them.

Friendly and amusing conversations with the manager who served us and offered helpful advice. The dishes were delicious and generous, accompanied by excellent sauces. We will gladly return.

02/09/2026: First evening in Lyon with a bit of a disappointment: truly bland risotto... mussels with only their shells... flavorless prawns... rice and peas so over-inflated with flavor that they lost their flavor; the cheeses on the finish were truly embarrassing... high prices for the quality of the dishes.

22/09/2026: Excellent place, starter, main course and dessert for €26, very well-executed Lyonnais bouchon-style cuisine, very friendly service, I recommend it.

02/09/2026: We came to this restaurant for the second time. The first time I was delighted, this time I am more ambivalent, even a little disappointed. The setting is bucolic, the signature dish excellent, but the quantities were a little limited, especially compared to the cheese plate. We had wine by the glass, and it was measured down to the last drop, even though we were in the heart of Beaujolais. What a shame...

20/08/2026: The food was delicious, and the chilies were quite spicy. The service was quick and responsive. However, the only downside was the lingering cooking smell that permeated the dining room.
