06/12/2025: I've been waiting for my food for an hour. And it's clearly not going to arrive anytime soon.

05/12/2025: A €14 salad consisting mainly of lettuce leaves! The Caesar salad had mayonnaise dressing and a few breaded pieces of chicken. No croutons. The Parmesan had no flavor. Avoid it.

07/12/2025: Recently reopened (October 2025) I rediscovered meats and dishes to which the owners and their staff have brought a touch of expertise, particularly with the spider steak. This cut is rarely found on a menu due to the extensive preparation involved (explanations given by the professionals themselves). We were able to taste various lamb, veal, and beef dishes... and all of them showcased a love for cooking and the art of hospitality. I highly recommend it...

25/09/2024: Friendly staff and good food here. We walked in around 7pm without reservation. The Friendly staff able to get 2 of us a table without hassle. Order 2 main course with beef. Both are great. Great experience overall.

29/12/2023: Très déçus. On attendait beaucoup de ce resto. Nous n'avons pas apprécié nos plats qui ne sont pas en phase avec les prix. Le dessert la "sphère au chocolat" n'a rien de spécial (un peu trop sucré). Nous ne reviendrons pas. Trop cher pour ce que c'est. Point positif : le service et le cadre.

A restaurant we like: kindness of the team, generosity of dishes made in Auvergne! A real French restaurant! A big thank you to Chef Seb for this tasting. 28/11/2025: VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THE SOMMELIER We had lunch at this restaurant for a business meeting. After choosing the set menu, the sommelier came over and suggested a white wine. He then presented us with a bottle of Meursault (without showing us the wine list or prices), also suggesting a Saint-Aubin. At this point, it was difficult to refuse his recommendation in front of guests who seemed quite taken with them, especially since the wine list hadn't even been presented to us yet. The result: a bill of €270 for a bottle that was clearly not worth it. Too young, in my opinion.

08/12/2025: A lovely meal on a Sunday during the Festival of Lights with friends. A warm welcome, a beautiful setting, and delicious food. A classic bouchon-style meal; the dishes were tasty and generous! As a bonus, a quick photo with the owner – thank you to him for this delightful touch, which we truly appreciated. This restaurant is a sure bet; we will definitely be back!

13/09/2025: Unfortunately, Contre-Champ is not what it used to be. The chef has changed, and the experience is nothing like what you’ll see on Google or in older reviews. The food was disappointing, far below expectations, and the overall quality has dropped dramatically. To make matters worse, the poor waiter had to manage 11 tables completely on his own — service was understandably slow and chaotic, and it was painful to watch him struggle. What used to be a great place has become a real letdown. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.

13/09/2025: The restaurant has fundamentally changed its concept. Not a disaster in itself, but the links/photos should be changed. Completely understaffed, one poor server overwhelmed for the entire dining room. The kitchen is taking it easy during this time. Way too hot inside. The food is okay, nothing special. We just wanted to leave...
