06/08/2024: Tandis que le soleil de plomb de l'été s'abat sur la capitale des Gaules, se poser le temps d'un déjeuner dans le parc de Gerland qui borde le cours du Rhône est un bel échappatoire. Si vous passez par là ou que vous vous sentez appelés par l'appel du vert, la brasserie qui s'y loge est un abri tout à fait honnête pour y déjeuner agréablement : l'accueil y est charmant, les plats proposés, - les classiques d'une brasserie -, bien exécutés, l'addition tout à fait correcte. Une bonne découverte.

30/09/2024: This is the second time I come to this cafe. The first time I had a bad experience so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. We arrived 40min before closing and sat at one of the tables. The main female waiter seemed super busy so we politely waited to be served. Nothing happened for 10min. I called the second waiter to tell her that we wanted to order and she said "ok", but no one came to our table. 10min passed and I decided to stand up to go to the comptoir to place my order. The woman at the bar told me they were closing (it was 20min before closing) and she wouldn't serve us. I had to tell her that we had been waiting for 20min and she said that she'd made an exception and -annoyed- she asked me what we wanted (she has the right to be annoyed, but HEY we've also been waiting for a while now!). I ordered 2 teas but she refused to serve us the tiramisu we wanted to try. We drank our teas and as people started to leave the waitress that I called to order, came and told us the museum was closing. We were almost done with the teas so we sped up a little. Later a man came and told us "The museum has been closed for 10 minutes already, we are close now" in an unpleasant tone. I said thank you, finished our teas, and left. My advice: The service industry is under tons of recruiting stress which is clearly the cause of their current service; so come to the garden with your snacks (the food is ok but the service makes you feel like you're an inconvenience) to enjoy the garden at your own peace. No need to spend energy ordering at the cafe for now.
