12/06/2026: As a regular customer of this establishment, I never thought I'd have to leave such a negative review. A friend and I arrived in the afternoon and spent the evening there. As the hours passed, other regulars joined us. Despite our loyalty to the establishment and our regular patronage throughout the day, we experienced a series of completely unacceptable situations. First, several members of our group had to check their bills because drinks that had already been paid for were being charged a second time. This affected several people and created a particularly unpleasant atmosphere. Second, after leaving her phone to charge near the register, my friend noticed that her bank card was missing. While we can't confirm what happened, it's deeply concerning that such an incident would occur in a place we frequent regularly. The most shocking thing, however, was the behavior of some of the staff during an event organized that evening. Several staff members even went into the restrooms to deal with a prize or gift issue. At one point, when I opened the door, I found myself facing several employees who were practically blocking the way. This situation was extremely uncomfortable and completely inappropriate. We were also asked to leave our table under the pretext that it was reserved, even though we had been there since 3 p.m. and no reservation had been made prior to that. Luckily, the friends who had joined us witnessed the scene and were able to testify to what was happening, as the situation was becoming increasingly absurd. Between the billing errors, the disappearance of a credit card, the staff's lack of professionalism, and the disrespect shown to customers, this evening was a real disappointment. As a long-time, loyal customer, one expects a minimum of consideration. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I came to report these facts the very next day, because what happened simply should not happen in an establishment open to the public.

06/06/2026: I stopped there just to get a coffee. It took over 10 minutes for them to take my order, and still no coffee after 15 minutes. I finally left…

23/05/2026: Two seats on the terrace. The waitress was very friendly. We had a very good meal. I recommend it!

01/05/2026: A quick stop on May 1st after a hot afternoon in the Parc de la Tête d'Or. It's not always easy to work that day, so kudos to them! Lovely waitress and classic cold drinks.

17/04/2026: I didn't like the savory waffles, but the crepes were good. The service was adequate; we ate inside, and it felt more like a bar counter than a proper dining room. Perhaps eating outside would have changed my rating, or perhaps not.

27/02/2026: Overcooked steak, tiny portions, service needs improvement considering the prices charged.

03/05/2026: Soup or cabbage for a starter, both very good. Then conveyor belt sushi or other unlimited options. Everything is good.

17/04/2026: We loved the concept and had a wonderful meal. The staff were very attentive to customers' needs. There was a good variety of dishes, and the portions were more than enough – we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

15/12/2025: Comptoir Cité enjoys an ideal location just steps from the Cité Internationale, making it convenient for lunch during a conference. The portions are decent, but the pulled pork in the Texas burger was a bit dry and harder to chew than one would expect from pulled pork. A practical choice, but with room for improvement in this regard.

24/10/2025: A very nice place, the staff are very welcoming and the dishes are generous. Try the Braille table in the evening.

19/05/2026: We went with a Groupon voucher. I ordered a beer with a small chip in the glass. See photo. Everything wasn't as advertised on the voucher. The main course was bland, the gratin a bit dry, there weren't many vegetables on the plate, and the chocolate mousse was hard! Not really a mousse! A bit expensive for two, even with the Groupon code. We were a little disappointed!

13/09/2025: The restaurant has fundamentally changed its concept. Not a disaster in itself, but they should update the links/photos. Completely understaffed, one overwhelmed waiter for the entire dining room. The kitchen is taking it easy meanwhile. Way too hot inside. The food was okay, nothing special. We just wanted to leave...

13/09/2025: Unfortunately, Contre-Champ is not what it used to be. The chef has changed, and the experience is nothing like what you’ll see on Google or in older reviews. The food was disappointing, far below expectations, and the overall quality has dropped dramatically. To make matters worse, the poor waiter had to manage 11 tables completely on his own — service was understandably slow and chaotic, and it was painful to watch him struggle. What used to be a great place has become a real letdown. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.

14/06/2026: Restaurant with ample space, suitable for group dinners. The atmosphere is pleasant and accommodates larger groups without problems. Overall, the food was good and the experience was positive. However, the meats fell short of expectations. The cut didn't seem ideal, and the cooking point was overcooked, resulting in meat that should have been tender but ended up tough. Another aspect to highlight is the portions, which are quite generous. While this could be seen as an advantage, they seem excessive, resulting in considerable food waste. Perhaps slightly more balanced portions would be enough to maintain the quality of the experience and reduce waste. Overall, it's a good option for groups, but there are some details that could be improved.

11/06/2026: This is the restaurant where you can enjoy generous portions of excellent quality red meat, cooked to perfection by the kitchen staff. In addition, the restaurant itself has beautiful (and well-maintained) decor. And the waitstaff is incredibly attentive. Absolutely top-notch!

01/04/2026: I went there while the hotel was being renovated, and honestly, it would be a real shame to miss out if you're in the area. I had the set menu (main course, dessert, coffee), less than 20 euros for a generous portion served without rice or pasta. I eat at many hotel restaurants like this one, and I found it to be a cut above the rest, much better quality. The dessert was fresh and also very generous (pineapple carpaccio). The atmosphere was a bit cold in a sparsely decorated dining room, but the hotel is undergoing renovations, so please bear with me. The service was excellent, friendly, and efficient. The menu is very short, as the restaurant focuses on daily specials. I can only hope it's just as good every time. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to spot.

31/01/2026: A restaurant we love to visit for lunch, not only for a break from work but especially for the warm welcome, the relaxing atmosphere, their daily specials—always delicious, (very) generous portions, made with seasonal, market-fresh ingredients—all at an excellent price (daily special, dessert, and coffee for €15.90). Located within the hotel, the restaurant is lovely, bathed in natural light from the veranda. A special mention goes to the team: Manon (with her smile and sense of humor), Anaïs (friendly and discreet), and the Head Chef, whose mastery of cooking both meat and fish we serve deserves a special mention, as does the generous portion size. This place has become our go-to spot, and we're not exactly picky eaters (Manon can attest to that) ;))

10/03/2026: The meal was decent but the dining room was noisy, and to top it off, the owner was smoking a cigar inside.

21/05/2026: The staff was fantastic, and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it. Thank you to the entire team at L'Ivry for the warm welcome.

18/02/2026: We wanted to try some local specialties, and the andouillette was perfectly cooked, the sausage a lovely pink (a sign of freshly cooked sausage), and the shallot sauce was a pleasant surprise, especially since I'm used to sausage with Beaujolais sauce. I highly recommend this friendly restaurant. An aperitif, a pot of ribs, and two green Chartreuses made for a meal under €35 per person—well done, gentlemen!

26/03/2026: Standard food, neither good nor bad, it does the job for lunch (if you're not in a hurry...). However, the service and atmosphere of the restaurant were deplorable! The men there were all unfriendly. We won't be back!

23/04/2026: I had lunch today, April 23, 2026, with my friend. Once again, we appreciated the warm welcome, the cleanliness, the excellent service, and the meal. Our choice of salmon puff pastry with sorrel sauce was very good. We will gladly return very soon. We highly recommend this place... and the price is very reasonable for the quality and service. Thank you and congratulations to the whole team.

05/03/2026: A very warm and friendly welcome. A very pleasant time with my family. I'm happy to share this meal with my family, who aren't familiar with Maison Pignol. For us, it was delicious; they'll be back. As for me, I've been a loyal customer of all Pignol shops for over 35 years now. The place is very clean and very pleasant. It's very difficult to leave without trying a pastry, especially the lemon tart—it's the best tart in Lyon.
