04/02/2026: A little gem in Lyon, away from the hustle and bustle of Old Lyon, but starting to become a victim of its own success 🙂. It's still one of the best places in the area to relax in nature 🙂

17/01/2026: I was greeted with big smiles and attentive service during my visit with my grandchildren. Café Gadagne is a magnificent setting that would make Parisians envious! The brunch was excellent and made even better by the impeccable service and thoughtful touches from the staff, who were always smiling and attentive. I even insisted a bit by asking if they had almond milk… and what a lovely surprise: they did! It's this kind of detail that truly makes all the difference. A very pleasant experience for both adults and children. We will definitely be back with great pleasure.

17/09/2025: I regularly go for coffee and meet clients at this magnificent establishment. The welcome is warm and subtle, and the seating areas are very comfortable. It's both calm and lively. The view of the pool from the dining room or the terrace is an undeniable plus.

16/03/2026: We came this Monday with friends and had a wonderful time thanks to Clémence and Alex. A huge thank you for their service; they were kind, friendly, and incredibly attentive! They heard it was my friend's birthday and even offered to put a candle on our chocolate fondant cake! The food was delicious, the ingredients were high quality, and the dishes were beautifully prepared. So, a well-deserved 5 stars!!

15/03/2026: The food was excellent and the dining room was top-notch. I received a warm welcome and a very pleasant experience; I highly recommend it. I came on a Sunday and the staff were very competent and friendly.

16/02/2026: I absolutely do not recommend this place. Besides having an unpleasant waiter who has absolutely no manners (no hello, no thank you), the café is filthy, there were ants on the tables, the ashtrays were full when we arrived, and the toilets were dirty. When we asked for our table to be cleaned, the waiter didn't even apologize for the state of the table and didn't change the ashtrays. The waiter was also on his phone the entire time, with his hood up and his hair down; I even found a phone in my hot chocolate!

16/02/2026: Avoid at all costs. Unpleasant staff: barely a hello, no thank you at the checkout. The waiter stays on his phone behind the counter and seems reluctant to put it down to answer customer requests. The tables and restrooms are dirty, and when you ask for the tables to be cleaned, no apology is offered for the inconvenience.

08/02/2026: After the Etretat Cliffs Exhibition (a superb exhibition!), I took a break with a friend for a hot chocolate. Supposedly, the chocolate wasn't hot at all; it was more like milk with a tiny bit of chocolate. Quite disappointed. However, we did have a chocolate financier, which was good, so it wasn't all bad 🥴

03/11/2025: Perfect for a snack, but they're missing the essential decaf coffee to serve with the pastries at 4 pm. Not everyone can drink tea. The restoration of Raoul Dufy's fresco is magnificent. Bravo to the artists ♥ and thank you to the café owner for the decaf 🙏🏽

18/03/2026: My absolute favourite 'french' lunch cafe in Lyon. Local cuisine, local community and local heart.

10/03/2026: The meal was decent but the dining room was noisy, and to top it off, the owner was smoking a cigar inside.

16/01/2026: Honestly, the Domino's pizzeria on Place Jean Jaurès is excellent! I order there very often, and the quality is always consistently high: it never changes, even on promotional days (and that's rare 😄). The food is always delicious, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Plus, there's a comfortable seating area where you can wait for your pizza in peace and quiet, and it's always clean and pleasant. It's a place you'll want to come back to again and again. Well done to the whole team! 👏

04/03/2026: After reading the reviews, I was really ambivalent about the place, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The servers were super friendly and the food was really very good, although I thought the price was perhaps a tad high. The atmosphere and the comfortable seating were also nice. My only disappointment is that there's very little space to move between the tables; they're much too close together, and if you happen to end up in a spot in the aisle, it's awful... It's obvious they're trying to maximize the space...

31/01/2026: We chose the brasserie area because I knew the place and was happy to go back. I felt uncomfortable, the staff was unpleasant and the welcome nonexistent, avoid it at all costs!!!! No atmosphere and a lack of respect

20/12/2025: Saint Marcelline cheese not aged, what a shame. St. Véran cheese not fresh, what a shame. Oysters are okay, bread and butter are extra...🙄 The waiters are nice though.

31/01/2026: Definitely one of the worst places in Croix-Rousse. Two disastrous experiences here. We definitely do not recommend this place.
