11/11/2025: Excellent restaurant. The food is superb and the atmosphere is pleasant. The owner is very friendly. The only downside is the long wait for service. The advantage is that you have time to digest between courses. You don't leave feeling heavy. I recommend it if you have the time.

22/02/2026: This restaurant looks nice. I wanted to reserve a table for my family and me, but unfortunately, the person who greeted us forgot to call me back as promised to confirm the reservation. It's a shame, the welcome was quite pleasant; I think it's a pity not to keep one's word.

21/02/2026: Are you a meat lover? Then treat yourself to our selection of meats to share (aged ribeye, braised lamb shoulder, etc.). Special mention also goes to the fish and chips with its tartar sauce, a classic that's perfectly executed.

17/03/2026: Dirty toilets, no toilet paper, and a constant smell of toilet cleaner despite being filthy. Toilet bowls on the floor. Often no toilet paper. A shame for the reputation of the French. Otherwise, everything else is fine!

08/11/2025: I'd been wanting to stop at this ideally located restaurant in the Bauges mountains for a long time, and I'm so glad I did this Friday evening when I invited my best friend to share a delicious meal! We received a warm and friendly welcome throughout our meal. They paid particular attention to our comfort, making sure everything went smoothly. The waiter was perfect, and the chef excels in her home-style cooking, creating flavorful and beautifully presented dishes. The cuisine is generous, hearty, and rooted in local traditions. We enjoyed an exquisite hazelnut foie gras, a generous charcuterie platter, delicately seasoned duck in filo pastry, and a venison stew that was simply divine! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we promise to be back. A place to remember.

07/03/2026: We decided to have lunch at "Le Gros Caillou" today because we've stopped there three times after skiing for a drink. The welcome was excellent each time, and all six dishes we enjoyed were delicious. We had a very pleasant time in every way. I highly recommend it.

08/02/2026: A must-book restaurant if you're vacationing in St-Sorlaint. The guys are super friendly and the food is heartwarming. Everything you could want from a good, welcoming mountain restaurant. You'll leave feeling great and with a huge smile on your face.

19/02/2026: Fantastic evening at a fantastic restaurant! It's hard to find a restaurant that will accept reservations for large tables (more than 20) in Saint François Longchamp, but no problem at Le Gabrio. The welcome was warm, the waitresses pleasant despite the large group. Quick service, excellent food: pizzas, raclettes, fondues... See you next year! 😉

14/03/2026: This isn't the quality I knew 10 years ago. The menu was very light, and the wine by the glass was a nice touch. It tasted more like a forgotten, everyday wine. It's a real shame.

05/03/2026: We had a wonderful time at this restaurant! After a pleasant hike that starts right in front of it, we were treated to a truly delicious meal. I highly recommend the lamb shank and the blueberry tart. Absolutely divine! And let's not forget the staff, who were incredibly attentive and always had a smile on their face.

01/03/2026: A pint of Kronenbourg for €11.50 in the off-season. There's no justification for such a price.

01/03/2026: It was for my son's 26th birthday!!! We opted for three €50 menus and one €40 menu (starter, main course, and dessert)... We started with four aperitifs; just look at the attached photo of how they were served! One €8 cocktail (two fruit juices mixed together with no garnish whatsoever, deplorable). For me, a half-pint of draft beer at €6 (and guess what? 20cl tops!). Incidentally, we had the aperitifs at the same time as the main courses!! But anyway... I won't dwell on the starters; we were hungry... I've included a photo of the 250g duck breast... 150g tops, way overcooked and lukewarm (duck breast, when advertised as uncooked, should be pink!!). My daughter-in-law's was the same... you really had to be hungry! I had frog legs and had no complaints, but my wife's fried food was in homeopathic doses and completely dry! So, we didn't even have dessert… €188.50 for four people, which works out to €47 per person, and frankly, it's not worth it. The young woman and the lady who were serving were very nice, but still, that's not everything. You're going to your doom! I've been in the restaurant business for thirty years, and if my businesses have always been so successful, it's not by chance! It's a fair exchange of services, period! Wake up or stop the damage quickly... or even, call Etchebest... you have a beautiful setting, what a waste!

05/03/2026: I come back every year. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. I noticed it was less hot than in previous years. I will definitely be back.
